    i like the addition of bombs. these ships are vulnerable to aces flanking them. finding 6 pts for squad leader on Hired Gun might be worth it (reduce protons to seismics and dropping expert handling and trickshot) alternatively u could find 4pts and upgrade two dorsal turrets to ion cannons. These options really depend on how u fly the squad and what u expect to be up against.

    What to play

    You also need to consider what you will play in both formats. hyperspace and extended. way more options in extended for scum extended vs scum hyperspace. of course you can just play your hyperspace squad in extended if cost is a factor. Most players will tire of playing the same list repeatedly. Having the ability to play more than one faction will keep the game fresh for you and give you a Plan B if FFG nerfs your favourite squad come the next points adjustment.

    What to play

    3-4ship rebel is pretty solid choice just now. XXY, XXYY or XXXX might be a good place to start. Wedge and Luke are pretty powerhouse pilots in 2.0. A mix of aces and generic ships is always good. U wings are a great support ship for rebels. Leia/tactical officer together are just 4pts. Put these on a cheap U Wing and pair up with your choice of X's and Y's XYU or XXYU or XXXU or XYYU are all decent options for rebels in both formats. im a scum player in 2.0 but im making the jump into rebels because they seem a bit more viable in tournament play right now. U can still play scum but u have less options for squads. I have a decent selection of scum and rebel and imperial ships so i can actually play any of these factions without buying too many extra ships. My choice is rebels. In another 5-6 months I might change my mind and go back to scum or pick up a different faction.

    Good read Nathan. As a scum only player I'm feeling the burn from the points increases. Every scum squad im thinking of playing just got a bit squishier. I'm not seeing any respite for some time either. Its not all doom and gloom. Scum is still playable in both formats. People are just going to shy away from scum as a faction with what's on offer from the other factions. This ebb and flow of factions is of course a normal part of the game. Its just scums turn to sit outside the window looking in after enjoying quite high popularity for a time. My guess is that FFG have scum stuff planned for a future rollout. Illicits need a buff and scum need some more ship options in hyperspace... yes scum falcon, fenn/Old Trench, escape craft, boba and mining guilds are all playable, they are just quite narrow to build many squads with. The soon to be released scum z-95 isn't gonna change anything, scum is definitely on the sidelines right now. My plan coming into 2.0 was to remain a scum only player. I might need to alter my view on this if I want to play with what is the new hotness. Rather than stubbornly stick to scum, us scum players might need to jump to another faction until things right themselves again. Maybe ill dust off my old rebel ships. Luke and Wedge are pretty darn good right now. I don't own any U-Wings but I might get one if I decide to go into rebel squads again. XXXU with Leia is looking pretty strong just now.

  8. Whats the best Scum list you have faced recently? Post one Extended or Hyperspace squad or one of each. Me? Hyperspace: Well for hyperspace I've only played Fenn+3x Zealous Recruits. It was really good but I suspect will have trouble now Y-Wings are good again. I'm actually liking the look of the archetype Han/Fenn/Old Turoch. I also think some people are sleeping on Boba Fett in hyperspace and have written him off without Han Gunner. Using Slave1 title on him with Qi'ra and trickshot has been shown to be rather good. The real issue is the points make things a bit squishy for support ships with a high enough initiative to be relevant. Extended: I'm really unsure about this one. Fenn seems a bit variable here. Rebels and Resistance have some great aces and they have durability and mobility. I think scum really needs to alter its game plan. I like Drea with 2-3 other generic ships. Scum bombers are good and Lok Revenants with Veteran Turret Gunner and your choice of Dorsal or Ion Cannon hits hard. Mining Guild Ties even with trickshot seem more filler ship than reliable threat.

    scum isnt getting anything new for a long time. im a bit worried scum will get shelved for ages. i dont want to play another faction but i might have to to maintain any interest in the game.

    new ffg articles are not really worth getting excited about until they release point costs. is it really too much to ask for ffg to release the points at the same time. i miss seeing points for ships on the pilot cards.

    as a scum only player, im feeling starved of inspiration for scum. im even considering using a Kihraxz fighter in extended. anyone had success with this ship recently? scum has been spoilt with the most ships to choose from in hyperspace, im just not getting much excitement to try anything scum has other than boba, fenn, old teroch, escape shuttle or han piloting a falcon. seems like such a narrow design space. is anyone feeling inspired for something different for scum in hyperspace? kath with mining guilds just seems lacking when u look at what other factions can field in hyperspace. fenn plus 3 zealous recruits is fun but rather glass cannony for a consistent option imo. new ideas welcome!!!

    Scum needs a small ship force user. Maul crew is badass but not worth the points. Asajj is stuck in a large ship and is therefore denied access to all force talents.

    Is anyone having success with scurrg bombers? the generic is nice but it eats over 1/4 of ur points with VTG and dorsal turret/ion cannon turret.

    Its kinda gone pretty quiet in here. Scum is still a good choice of faction, its just got a little harder with the points changes. Heres what iv noticed... Boba Fett with Slave 1 title is actually quite good. Fang Fighters are still a great scum ship with Fenn and Old T able to lay some smackdown, you just need to be a better than average player to maximise their strengths. Han Solo piloting the Scum Falcon is very cheap and can be suped up to the 'really good' range with a wide range of upgrades thanks to its slots eg. trickshot, lando's title, rigged cargo shoot, hotshot gunner and engine upgrade are just a sampling of what works well on him. Escape Craft is still cheap and super strong and can be fielded wout tactical officer in a pinch but most ppl including me automatically throw in tactical officer for 2pts. Scurrg bombers with Veteran Turret Gunner and Dorsal Turret or Ion Cannon Turret hits really hard, its just a bit slow in a meta where Resistance A-Wings are officially scary. Drea is still awesome. Y-Wings in general got a major buff. Just feels like the scum swarm is lacking something versus Rebel Aces and Resistance Aces. Drea does not support friendly ace rerolls which hurts when ur up against the likes of Wedge, Luke, Poe and Lulo.
