  3. KeyForge Prime Championship Details

The Game Shoppe is proud to host a Prime Championship for KeyForge. Prime Championships draw the best players from the region to compete for awesome prizes and the chance for a shot at the World Championships.

The event will be run in the Triad Sealed format. Each player has 3 decks that they can use throughout the tournament. Each round, each player chooses one of their opponent’s decks to “bench,” making that deck unusable for that match. Each round consists of a best-of-three match. When a player wins a game, they must switch to their other deck for the rest of the match. This means that a player must win a game with each of their non-benched decks to win the match.

    Date: January 25, 2020
    Registration: 10am to 11:45am
    Start time: 12pm
Cost: $40 preregistered (1/19/2020), or $45 at the door. Entry fee includes three (3) Worlds Collide decks.
Payment may be sent through PayPal by Sunday, January 19th to gamegeek@thegameshoppe.com

    Round 5: 5:40pm – 6:45pm 41-76 players, Top 8

    Tournament Materials
If official Star Wars: Imperial Assault map tiles are not used, only official FFG Imperial Assault Skirmish Mats are allowed. If you are able, please bring your map tiles or official FFG Imperial Assault Skirmish Mats.

    Player Materials
Players are responsible for bringing all of the game components they need to play a game of Star Wars: Imperial Assault. This includes all models, Deployment cards, Skirmish Upgrade cards, and tokens. In addition, they must bring sufficient dice for attack and defense rolls, a Command deck, and all legal map tiles (or official Imperial Assault Skirmish Maps) and Mission cards. When an army list is required, players should bring a completed list or arrive at the venue early to fill one out.

    Army Building
Each player must build one army to use in a tournament. An army cannot exceed 40 deployment points, though it may contain fewer than 40 deployment points. A player may choose to field a Rebel, an Imperial, or a Mercenary army.

Players must use the same army for the duration of the tournament.

    Army Lists
Some events require players to submit an army list, including all associated deployment cards, total army points and command deck to the organizer before the start of the tournament.

If a player uses a deployment card with the same name and army points as a different component available, he or she must uniquely identify that card. The recommended way to uniquely identify a card is by including the full name of the product in which the card appeared in parenthesis. A player can ask a leader for specific instructions if they are unsure of the best method to uniquely identify a card.

Unique identification example: Veronica includes Luke Skywalker in her army. While the original Luke Skywalker card has a different cost than the Jedi Knight version, Veronica wants to make it clear which version she is using. Veronica writes “Luke Skywalker (Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight Ally Pack)” on her army list.

If a leader discovers a player’s army list is missing appropriate information, he or she should find that player immediately and update the army list based on the cards the player is using. If this would result in a significant and potentially advantageous change, the leader should consider investigating for possible cheating.

    Tournament Round Times
Each tournament round of Star Wars: Imperial Assault is a predetermined length, giving players a certain amount of time to complete their games. This length includes time for setup. A leader should start the timer for a tournament round after most players have found their seats and begun to set up. If a game has not concluded when the time for a tournament round runs out, the players finish the current game round and then calculate their scores (see “End of Round” on page 14). A tournament round’s length varies depending on the type of round.
    -Swiss Rounds: 65 minutes each
-Single Elimination Rounds (except Final): 65 minutes each
-Final Single Elimination Round: 105 minutes

    Advanced Structure
The Advanced tournament structure caters to participants that enjoy competition. This structure provides a robust tournament experience that requires a substantial commitment of time and resources from organizers and players. The Advanced Structure is used for Regional Championship events.

    About the Venue
We sell snacks and drinks such as soda, chips and candy bars. We do not allow outside food and drinks, such as: bags of chips, outside bottles of soda (2 liters) and so on. If you are bringing in your meal and a drink is included, and personal water bottles those are the exceptions.

    TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
The Advanced tournament structure caters to participants that enjoy competition. This structure provides a robust tournament experience that requires a substantial commitment of time and resources from organizers and players. The Advanced Structure is used for Regional Championship events.

    TOURNAMENT MATERIALS
Deck lists are required for this event. We will have blank ones on hand but, printed deck lists are preferred.

    https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/4d/33/4d333c07-97a7-48c4-97b1-7fe4c08d5bc2/gt-deck-sheet.pdf

    CARD SLEEVES
Players are required to sleeve each draw deck and plot deck in identical opaque card sleeves for Premier events. Players may use different sleeves between decks, but all sleeves within a single draw or plot deck must be identical in size, color, texture, and condition. At Relaxed events, if a player is not using opaque card sleeves, he or she must make sure that all card backs in each of their decks have a uniform appearance. Players should bring a few spare sleeves for each of their decks in case a card sleeve breaks or becomes unusable during a tournament.

    LOST AND DAMAGED CARDS
If a player loses a card during a tournament, he or she has an opportunity to find a replacement, if necessary. Any player that discovers they are missing a card at the beginning of a round should notify a leader. The leader will give the player a short time extension to their game in order to find a replacement. If the player cannot find a replacement within that time, they must concede the game. If the player is unable to find a replacement by the start of the next round, they should be removed from the tournament.

During a game, if a player discovers they are missing a card from their deck, they must concede the game.

If a player’s card becomes damaged during the course of a tournament, he or she has an opportunity to find a replacement. If the player cannot find a replacement, he or she uses a proxy card in its place for the remainder of the tournament. A leader will create the proxy, including the card name, any information that is no longer legible or available on the damaged card, the name of the leader who created it, and the date it was created. The original card must be kept facedown and nearby, available for reference when the proxy card is played.

    TOKENS
Tokens are representations of information about the game or game state. The presence of tokens is marked by one or more indicators. Indicators may also be used to represent multiple tokens, or other open or derived information. Typically, players use the cardboard tokens included in official product as indicators. However, players may choose to use other items as indicators, so long as they do not obscure significant component information, are resistant to accidental modification, and their purpose of use is clear to both players. The marshal is responsible for determining the legality of an indicator and its reasonable use during a match if objected to by its owner’s opponent.

    LEGAL PRODUCTS
Players may use only official A Game of Thrones: The Card Game components in tournament play, with the following exceptions for third-party replacements:
-Tokens that do not obscure card information
-Determining the legality of any questionable third-party tokens is the marshal’s responsibility. Proxies of cards are not allowed unless used under the rules of “Lost and Damaged Cards” on page 4.
-All A Game of Thrones: The Card Game components are legal for Standard Play tournaments.

    Tournament Materials
    Playmats
If you are able to bring your official FFG X-Wing™ Playmats to this event it would be appreciated. While we have some, they may not be enough based on past participation.

    Player Materials
Players are responsible for bringing all of the game components they need to play a game of Star Wars: Armada. This includes all ship and squadron models, bases, pegs, ship cards, squadron cards, ship tokens, obstacles, upgrade cards, objective cards, and tokens. In addition, they must bring a damage deck, sufficient dice for attack rolls, a maneuver tool, and a range ruler. When a fleet list is required, players should bring a completed list or arrive at the venue early to fill one out.

    Fleet Building
Each player must build one fleet to use in a tournament. A fleet cannot exceed 400 points, though it may contain fewer than 400 points. A player may choose to field a Rebel or Imperial fleet. A player’s fleet cannot contain more than 134 points worth of squadrons. A fleet must also include a single commander and one objective card from each non-campaign category.

Players must use the same fleet for the duration of the tournament.

    Fleet Lists
Some events require players to submit a fleet list, including their name and all associated upgrade cards, their commander card, and total fleet points to the organizer before the start of the tournament. If a player uses a ship, squadron, or upgrade card with the same name and fleet points as a different component available, he or she must uniquely identify that card. This can be done by including the full name of the product in which the card appeared or the card type (if there are not two cards with the same name of the same card type) in parenthesis. A player can ask a leader for specific instructions if they are unsure of the best method to uniquely identify a card.

Unique identification example: Veronica includes a Darth Vader in her fleet, using the Darth Vader squadron card. While the Darth Vader squadron card has a different cost than the Darth Vader commander card, Veronica wants to make it clear which version she is using. Veronica writes “Darth Vader (Squadron)” on her fleet list.

If a leader discovers a player’s fleet list is missing appropriate information, he or she should find that player immediately and update the fleet list based on the cards the player is using. If this would result in a significant and potentially advantageous change, the leader should consider investigating for possible cheating.

    Tournament Round Times
Each tournament round of Star Wars: Armada is a predetermined length, giving players a certain amount of time to complete their games. A leader should start the timer for a tournament round after most players have found their seats and begun to set up. If a game has not concluded when the time for a tournament round runs out, the players finish the current game round and then calculate their scores (see “End of Round” on page 16). A tournament round’s length varies depending on the type of round.
    -Swiss Rounds: 135 minutes each
-Single Elimination Rounds (except Final): 135 minutes each
-Final Single Elimination Round: 180 minutes
