  1. How about no Lando (+4) reduce combat flotilla down to transporter (+6), no slicer tools (+7) and no Foresight (+8). Then add extra flotilla (18), Comms net (2), and Repair Crews on the other (4). Then puts me on 394! I thought about keeping Gunnery Teams on the Scouts as I intend to initially only have one side pointing at the enemy to start! 


  2. I was actually thinking, as I really suck at Squadrons, and don't own any apart from the core X Wings and R+V, to try squadron less, and go **** for leather at the enemy carriers? So I came up with this: -

    Was thinking as a possibility of moving Ackbar off the CR90 and putting him on Admo, then removing Lando to try and ensure I get first player?


  3. I think I am going to drop Epsilon Ace. I think for what I will be going up against (Karvil with probably TLT), I would need EA to go as I had so that he would stay as PS 12 for more than a round. If I took the extra shield off, or Comm Relay then that would reduce his PS 12 life expectancy. So in goes the standard OL for 26 points!

    I added a pattern Analyser to QD, as I remember the dial does stink a bit. Then I took a look at the Upsilon shuttle. I did think of the Star Killer base pilot but there's no EPT, so no expert handling. In the end, I chose Kylo Ren and reduced OL down to a suggested build. So First Order Mk II!

  4. After finally getting my hands on a TIE F/O, I looked forward to playing omega leader. Then it dawned on me that all my opponents ships will be PS 9 or above, so was wondering if this would be a better laugh!

  5. So I think I will ditch sensor team, and add in OE and H9’s to leave me on 397. Might keep Ackbar on Foresight, as I don’t intend him to get any closer than red range, so the Torp ship would need Admo more. No room for Lando unfortunately.

    i think I will try this out, and see how it goes. I will let you know how things go if I manage to get to the next Tournie in July. Thanks for the input guys, appreciated as always.


  6. I just did a couple of games the other week with a brand new list which had triple MC30 Torps  with Dodonna. The problem I had was that I found it hard to get them into position to deliver their payload. Also, I think I played them too timidly to be honest, so I thought that maybe swap them out for Ackbar and play two of the MC30’s as scouts to deliver long range fire, and have one Torp to dive in the following round or two for close up work.

    My thoughts are to fling 5 red dice at long range using TRC’s and also Int Offr to threaten either brace or contain token. Shara and Tycho to hold up enemy Sqns for a turn or two, whilst the two Rogues can either help out or go hunting.

    Well, I've already got two, and I don't want them to sit in a box like my Nebulon Frigates so I will be using them. ;0)


  8. I have built up two ok-ish starter fleets to see if my friend who i play X wing with would be interested but he's not completely sold on it yet. So what I want is an OK fleet for if I travel into the nearest place to me that does Armada without getting my a$$ handed to me every time I play.

    My Imps are 2 VSD's, a Raider, GSD, Gozanti and Sqn 1. My Rebs are CR90, 2 MC30, 2 NEB's and a Transporter. I've also got R+V.

    I'm not that keen to get Reb Sqn 1, unless for the A wings, so I'm happy to flesh out my fighters with R&V and core X wings for now.

    So my plan was to add to my Imps with a Quasar if 2CR90 and 2MC30 + add-ons were OK, but if you think that an additional MC30 is better then I was half thinking that anyway.

    I was wondering in addition to the MC30, would an Imp Light Cruiser fit in my Imp list, or another Raider or Sqn 2?

    Decisions decisions! Lol

    Just to add to the above, I don't mind losing games, I played Imps against a strong Scum list in X Wing, and was always on a losing streak. I just want to avoid the arms race type strategy I had in X wing where I'm buying and buying until I get a decent-ish list. 


  9. Thanks for the advice Moose. I'm going to be heading into a local games shop soon, and I've got the funds to either get a large ship, or a small and medium ship. If this list was OK, I would have got a CR90 and a Quasar, but if you think it would be better with a MC30, then I will get a MC30 and CR90. 


  10. Just wondering if this is a viable list with only 2 MC30's and 2 CR90's?

    The only ship I need to buy a CR90 as I have one from the core set plus a Mon Mothma card from someone else, so if its not, then I would get another MC30 in its place and adjust some points.

  11. Got it on the guidance chips! I was concentrating on that cards wording and overlooked what was on the unguided rockets card. I will swap that out and probably put Twin Ion engines on for a point then. 

    It was a tough choice not to out LWF on the punisher and Death fire, but as me and my friend had to cancel our game due to commitments then I think I will see how I go with extra munitions on the two Scimitar Sqn Ties, or whether they die too quick and it needs swapping with 2 LWF.


  12. I didn't think of running a shuttle. Capt Jonus would be perfect if I had the points, maybe drop extra munitions to fit Fleet/Sys officer? My next game which might be happening next week was going to be QD, Vader and a Punisher, but will probably run my version of Its a Bomber first for laughs. 


  13. Decided to pay a visit to a game shop in Hothgary, looking for a Tie F/O for my First Order themed list, but they were sold out. After a quick look round the rest of the X Wing shelf, then Armada, was about to leave when I noticed a cardboard box on another shelf. In it were second hand X Wing, and to my delight, I found two ships to grace my new list! Ladies and Gentlemen, without further a do, I give you, "Its a Bomber"

  14. I ran this version once against Kavil (hate him) and Talonbane, plus one other khirazx quite successfully. Highlight of the game was when Talonbane rolled 5 blanks at my pirate at range 1. Might be dated as well, but puts 4-LOM and Ketsu on PS8

  15. I'm thinking of giving this a go. Not sure if I would be able to achieve an Alpha strike with double edge though? Get a target lock, fire Cruise, then if miss spend target lock to fire Concussion?

  16. Me and a friend will be having our first game hopefully next week. Just wondering what 4 characters would anyone recommend? Thinking Joe Diamond and Mandy, but not sure who else. Also, what tasks would be best for each character to concentrate on, and finally whether to choose Yig, Cthulhu or whatever? Its the original Arkham Horror set too.
