  1. Hmm, if I dropped a MC30, I'd be more keen to stick in a CR90 with TRC's, then give Admo and Aspiration titles (plus Squadrons) and have a bid (10 points?). I originally wasn't that bothered about Foresight, as I won't have them at long range.

In fact, I'm not that bothered about any of the firepower reducing titles, 'cos there's no pension plan in my Navy lol.šŸ˜‚Ā

    Any thoughts on the above?Ā

  2. Seriously thinking of running this next time I go to my local game store, any comments on my deficiencies or any tactics? With SA thinking going first would enable me to first/last most lists, and second I’ve chosen what I Hope are difficult Objectives. Not sure of Most Wanted or Adv Gunnery, and whether Ā  Hyperspace Assault would be better than Contested Outpost? I know lack of fighter screen is a gamble, so maybe stick Ord pods on the MC75 instead of ER? Anyway, here it is:

    Ā MC75 Ordnance Cruiser (100)

    • General Dodonna (20)

    • Strategic Adviser (4)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • External Racks (3)

    • Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)

    = 136 Points

    MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)

    = 72 Points

    MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)

    = 72 Points

    MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)

    = 72 Points

    GR-75 Medium Transports (18)

    = 18 Points

    Squadrons:

    • 2 x VCX-100 Freighter (30)

    = 30 Points

    Total Points: 400

Objectives Ā Most Wanted,Ā Contested Outpost and Minefields

  3. Christmas is coming, and I’m hoping that the man in red (ok, Mrs Style) will be dropping some extra Armada gifts offĀ at my house. This isĀ why I’ve had a few lists posted over the last few weeks.

Below is a list using an Admiral I’ve normally ignored.

    Imperial I (110)

    • Admiral Ozzel (20)

    • Strategic Adviser (4)

    • Boarding Troopers (3)

    • Leading Shots (4)

    • XI7 Turbolasers (6)

    • Avenger (5)

    = 152 Points

    Gladiator I (56)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • Engine Techs (8)

    • Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)

    • Demolisher (10)

    = 83 Points

    Raider I (44)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • External Racks (3)

    = 51 Points

    Raider I (44)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • External Racks (3)

    = 51 Points

    Gozanti Cruisers (23)

    = 23 Points

    Squadrons:

    • Ciena Ree (17)

    • Valen Rudor (13)

    = 30 Points

    Total Points: 390

I've got all the ships barring the extra Raider, hence why advice is sought, as I don’t want to buy it to just sit on a shelf. Objectives would be Adv Gunnery, Hyperspace Assault and probably Solar Corona. Would prefer to go first.Ā Thanks in advance.

I can really only talk about your nearby Meta of Hothgary- and we’re diverse, but fairly Squad heavy....

You might be Dras, but alas not I! Although I may shock you by bringing more than my token Shara/Tycho to support my MC30’s next time!Ā ?Ā (Hey, maybe that’s why I keep getting beat?????? LOL)

  5. I’m trying to formulate my own Imperial MSU, and never thought of putting an Arquitens in there! Maybe one other way of doing this is to change TRC’s over to DTT, all the APT’s to Ex Racks, and give Demo Engine Techs? That way it can keep up with your raiders when they go full throttle (and get you out of trouble). Ditching APT’s off Raiders for Ex Racks also helps if you are up against a lot of fighters. Just my thoughts!Ā

  6. Just recently picked up a MC75, and thought I’d see how this looks?Ā

    MC75 Ordnance Cruiser (100)

    • General Rieekan (30)

    • Strategic Adviser (4)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • Electronic Countermeasures (7)

    • External Racks (3)

    • Assault Concussion Missiles (7)

    = 155 Points

    MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63)

    • Lando Carissian (4)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • Assault Concussion Missiles (7)

    • Admonition (8)

    = 86 Points

    GR-75 Medium Transports (18)

    = 18 Points

    Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)

    • Quad Battery Turrets (5)

    • Salvation (7)

    = 63 Points

    Squadrons:

    • Shara Bey (17)

    • Tycho Celchu (16)

    • VCX-100 Freighter (15)

    • Corran Horn (22)

    = 70 Points

    Total Points: 392

Not sure on objectives yet, but thinking Advanced Gunnery,Ā Hyperspace Assault and Solar Corona. Happy to go second, hence the bid. The MC30 would be used as my reserve, a sort of, saving the best ā€˜til last!

    Thoughts please?

    Ā

As an after thought, I have two other Rieekan lists, one with an extra Nebulon B, with just Shara and Tycho as Sqn support, and one with the MC75 swapped out for another MC30, with two Nebs and a larger Squadron. Ā

I use a Kuat loaded as above (With a FC team) with a heavy squadron build. The Kuat acts as the finisher. Hitting two crits, the ship is a deadly finisher.

    Ā

If you don’t mind me asking, what was your list for this?

  8. Is this Kuat a viable build? Would use this instead of my Vader ISD1 in another list further down the forum. (Would need to borrow a Kuat card in any games) and then adjust my previous list to fit the points.

    ISD Kuat Refit (112)

    • Admiral Screed (26)

    • Strategic Adviser (4)

    • Ordnance Experts (4)

    • Electronic Countermeasures (7)

    • Heavy Ion Emplacements (9)

    • Assault Concussion Missiles (7)

    • Avenger (5)

    = 174 Points

Strategic Advisor in to stretch out activation (and get the list under 400 points).

OE to Reroll for black crit, if a blue critĀ Ā didn’t pop up, otherwise use Screed. Would hopefully shoot with this ship after a dcapsĀ Ā VSD2. Trying to work out the math if every front arc die came up and I’m thinking 6 red, two blue (plus 2 shield from HIE), 6 black (plus 2 ACM) plus two from a concĀ fire? Well, one can hope lol (By the way, math and Armada rules aren’t my strong points lol).

  9. How about this then? 400 points on the nose. Happy to go first or second.

    Imperial I (110)

    • Darth Vader (36)

    • Strategic Adviser (4)

    • Boarding Troopers (3)

    • XI7 Turbolasers (6)

    • Avenger (5)

    = 164 Points

    Victory II (85)

    • Gunnery Team (7)

    • Disposable Capacitors (3)

    • Quad Battery Turrets (5)

    = 100 Points

    Victory I (73)

    • Gunnery Team (7)

    • External Racks (3)

    = 83 Points

    Gozanti Cruisers (23)

    = 23 Points

    Squadrons:

    • Ciena Ree (17)

    • Valen Rudor (13)

    = 30 Points

    Total Points: 400

Any recommendations for a different objective to Minefields would be appreciated.Ā

  10. I unfortunately don’t have the Chimera pack or Arquitens.

I did think of an ISD2, but I plumped for the ISD1 for Ā the points, and the Objectives I chose. If I win the bid and get second, then I either get Advanced Gunnery on my ISD, hopefully 20Ā points per turn from ContestedĀ Ā Outpost being guarded by two VSD 1’s, or channeling the enemy into a triangle of death killing zone with minefields! If I get out bid and someone wants to go second, then with Strategic Advisor I have the equivalent of five activations to let my ISD hopefully last/first someone (unless it’s an MSU). That’s the plan and reason behind my list. Plus I’ve got two VSD’s!

  11. I’ve been having fun with my Rebel MC30 list, and have been considering when to actually let my Imperials have a go. I’ve put plenty of lists out here before, but I think this will do good (hopefully). Nine point bid for second place (see objectives).Ā Could drop QBT’s for 14 point bid or replace Valen Rudor with Zertik StormĀ for 12 point bid. Or something else lol.

    Imperial I (110)

    • Darth Vader (36)

    • Strategic Adviser (4)

    • Boarding Troopers (3)

    • XI7 Turbolasers (6)

    • Avenger (5)

    = 164 Points

    Victory I (73)

    • Quad Battery Turrets (5)

    • External Racks (3)

    = 81 Points

    Victory I (73)

    • External Racks (3)

    = 76 Points

    Gozanti Cruisers (23)

    • Comms Net (2)

    = 25 Points

    Squadrons:

    • Ciena Ree (17)

    • Mauler Mithel (15)

    • Valen Rudor (13)

    = 45 Points

    Total Points: 391

Objectives: - Advanced Gunnery, Contested Outpost and Minefields

  12. I think we are trying to make the VSD something that it wasn’t. I know it’s a hypothetical science fiction space ship, but at the end of the day it’s from a different age compared to other ships.

What is everyone’s beef with the VSD? Is it lack of firepower, or manoeuvrability? Whatever it is, that is what needs fixing to make it a staple ship. Personally, I believe it’s manoeuvrability. Not 100% on a speed increase, but maybe yaw, but obviously at a price.

  13. Hmmm, thinking about it, how about ā€œBow Thrustersā€, gives you an extra click of yaw at the end but costs a turbo laser slot (that way you aren’t getting something for nothing)?Ā

So the choice is QBT (or something else) or Bow Thrusters?Ā

  14. Sorry my bad! When I typed in ACM I meant the new card ā€œAdvanced Concussion Missilesā€!

So you now have 3 red and 3 black dice at longĀ range for 81 points. The slot for QBT is still available so for 2 less points, you have a possible better build than a VSD 2 with DCAPs.

Im thinking that maybe a title card with a Kuat upgrade that gives it thrusters to help with the abysmal turning, but no speed increase? (Head now down behind the parapet lol).
