Seriously thinking of running this next time I go to my local game store, any comments on my deficiencies or any tactics? With SA thinking going first would enable me to first/last most lists, and second I’ve chosen what I Hope are difficult Objectives. Not sure of Most Wanted or Adv Gunnery, and whether Hyperspace Assault would be better than Contested Outpost? I know lack of fighter screen is a gamble, so maybe stick Ord pods on the MC75 instead of ER? Christmas is coming, and I’m hoping that the man in red (ok, Mrs Style) will be dropping some extra Armada gifts off at my house. This is why I’ve had a few lists posted over the last few weeks. Below is a list using an Admiral I’ve normally ignored. Imperial I (110) • Admiral Ozzel (20) • Strategic Adviser (4) • Boarding Troopers (3) • Leading Shots (4) • XI7 Turbolasers (6) • Avenger (5) = 152 Points Gladiator I (56) • Ordnance Experts (4) • Engine Techs (8) • Assault Proton Torpedoes (5) • Demolisher (10) = 83 Points Raider I (44) • Ordnance Experts (4) • External Racks (3) = 51 Points Raider I (44) • Ordnance Experts (4) • External Racks (3) = 51 Points Gozanti Cruisers (23) = 23 Points Squadrons: • Ciena Ree (17) • Valen Rudor (13) = 30 Points Total Points: 390 I've got all the ships barring the extra Raider, hence why advice is sought, as I don’t want to buy it to just sit on a shelf. Objectives would be Adv Gunnery, Hyperspace Assault and probably Solar Corona. Would prefer to go first. Thanks in advance.

I’m trying to formulate my own Imperial MSU, and never thought of putting an Arquitens in there! Maybe one other way of doing this is to change TRC’s over to DTT, all the APT’s to Ex Racks, and give Demo Engine Techs? That way it can keep up with your raiders when they go full throttle (and get you out of trouble). Ditching APT’s off Raiders for Ex Racks also helps if you are up against a lot of fighters. Just my thoughts!

Happy to go second, hence the bid. The MC30 would be used as my reserve, a sort of, saving the best ‘til last! Thoughts please? As an after thought, I have two other Rieekan lists, one with an extra Nebulon B, with just Shara and Tycho as Sqn support, and one with the MC75 swapped out for another MC30, with two Nebs and a larger Squadron.

I’m so behind with purchases because I got into Armada late that this is giving me chance to catch up with the rest of you guys. I do feel for you not having any new content though.

Is this Kuat a viable build? Would use this instead of my Vader ISD1 in another list further down the forum. (Would need to borrow a Kuat card in any games) and then adjust my previous list to fit the points. ISD Kuat Refit (112) • Admiral Screed (26) • Strategic Adviser (4) • Ordnance Experts (4) • Electronic Countermeasures (7) • Heavy Ion Emplacements (9) • Assault Concussion Missiles (7) • Avenger (5) = 174 Points Strategic Advisor in to stretch out activation (and get the list under 400 points). OE to Reroll for black crit, if a blue crit didn’t pop up, otherwise use Screed. Would hopefully shoot with this ship after a dcaps VSD2. Trying to work out the math if every front arc die came up and I’m thinking 6 red, two blue (plus 2 shield from HIE), 6 black (plus 2 ACM) plus two from a conc fire? Well, one can hope lol (By the way, math and Armada rules aren’t my strong points lol).

I unfortunately don’t have the Chimera pack or Arquitens. I did think of an ISD2, but I plumped for the ISD1 for the points, and the Objectives I chose. If I win the bid and get second, then I either get Advanced Gunnery on my ISD, hopefully 20 points per turn from Contested Outpost being guarded by two VSD 1’s, or channeling the enemy into a triangle of death killing zone with minefields! If I get out bid and someone wants to go second, then with Strategic Advisor I have the equivalent of five activations to let my ISD hopefully last/first someone (unless it’s an MSU). That’s the plan and reason behind my list. Plus I’ve got two VSD’s!

With Strategic Advisor, maybe drop a Gozanti to tool up your Raiders with Instigator/Kallus/ FT’s on one and Ex Racks on the other? Then add Suppressor on the Gozanti if you keep the Slicer Variant???? Maybe swap the Kuat for an ISD 1 to make max use of Boarding Troopers (Sqn 4 vs 2), then add X-17’s? You do lose Ex Racks though by having an ISD 1 -
I’ve been having fun with my Rebel MC30 list, and have been considering when to actually let my Imperials have a go. I’ve put plenty of lists out here before, but I think this will do good (hopefully). Nine point bid for second place (see objectives). Could drop QBT’s for 14 point bid or replace Valen Rudor with Zertik Storm for 12 point bid. Or something else lol. Dreadnought for both ( used to be a first choice when playing Starwars Supremecy for nostalgia's sake). Carrack light cruiser for Imps and I think its called a CC-7700 for Rebels, their very own Interdictor. -

I think we are trying to make the VSD something that it wasn’t. I know it’s a hypothetical science fiction space ship, but at the end of the day it’s from a different age compared to other ships. What is everyone’s beef with the VSD? Is it lack of firepower, or manoeuvrability? Whatever it is, that is what needs fixing to make it a staple ship. Personally, I believe it’s manoeuvrability. Not 100% on a speed increase, but maybe yaw, but obviously at a price.

Hmmm, thinking about it, how about “Bow Thrusters”, gives you an extra click of yaw at the end but costs a turbo laser slot (that way you aren’t getting something for nothing)? So the choice is QBT (or something else) or Bow Thrusters?

Sorry my bad! When I typed in ACM I meant the new card “Advanced Concussion Missiles”! So you now have 3 red and 3 black dice at long range for 81 points. The slot for QBT is still available so for 2 less points, you have a possible better build than a VSD 2 with DCAPs. Im thinking that maybe a title card with a Kuat upgrade that gives it thrusters to help with the abysmal turning, but no speed increase? (Head now down behind the parapet lol).

If VSDs get a long range ACM, no one will ever take a VSD 2, which was the upgrade to the VSD 1. Just my thoughts.

Well, the Torp variant gives me 3 red at long range unobstructed with Ackbar (side only). I did find I got some good use out of them last few games. What I had on my scout variant prior was Int. Officer and TRC’s. Ive only two A-Wings at the moment, so having the two Aces deal with the enemy fighters for a turn or two whilst the XYY combo heads for the enemy ships is the plan.
