I'm a bit delayed in posting in this thread because I commissioned the following art as Christmas gifts for my PC's last year. I got them commissioned from Will Nunes (as seen frequently in this thread) and I was super impressed with his creativity and professionalism. I highly recommend him and I will definitely use him again next time I need character art.
We have three PC's in our party:
Al'drax (Human, Scoundrel): The party face, generally leading everyone directly into trouble at any opportunity. Is very creative in his use of fusion lamps. Probably shouldn't be the party face...

Gred (Drall, Mechanic): The brains of the party, a sworn pacifist, leading to many interesting decisions.

Rugnar (Wookie, Bodyguard):  A Wookie of culture. Splendid musician, owner of a fine Wampa cape and a connoisseur of galactic cereal. Technically the muscle of the group but has a tendency to being distracted at the moment when the action breaks out.

They've been on my list for a while, but I'll plan to have a go at making a page for them soon. Here's what seems reasonable to me for now:
    Agility 1
    WT 12+Brawn, ST 10+Willpower
    85 XP
    1 rank in Negotiation
Gifted Traders: Receive the talent "Wheel and Deal."
Hardened Plates: Receive the talent "Enduring."
Variable Forms: May choose one of the following forms at character creation:
    Bulky:
    +2 WT
    +15 XP
    1 rank in Resilience
Ultimate Protection: Receive an additional rank in the talent "Enduring."
Ponderous: May only spend 1 maneuver moving per turn. Encumbrance threshold is equal to 10+Brawn.
    Extra Limbs:
Four Arms: May have twice as much gear in their hands and do not have to suffer strain for a second maneuver. Still may not make 3 maneuvers in a round without “Unmatched Mobility.”
    Humanoid:
    Presence 3
I'm actually really happy with how the stat block turned out, and I'd like to think that the variable forms abilities give them some interesting flavor.

So, I've noticed how daunting all the equipment can be for new players, so I came up with some "Kits" that new players can choose from to start the game with instead of choosing 500 credits worth of equipment. They all assume that the GM will provide at least a weapon to start with, and hopefully armor as well. They all include a comlink, a backpack of some sort, at least two stimpacks, five days of rations, and a glow rod. After that they vary slightly, though often just by an item or two. I hope they'll prove useful to someone else, so I'm posting the document link here. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith would like a word with you.

As to rarity look at it this way:  Where are you?
If you're in Idaho, you're going to see a certain kind of person.
If you're in Tehran or Kyoto or Tel Aviv or New Delhi you're going to see a different kind of person.
If you're in New York you're going to see lots of different kinds of people.
If you're in Los Angeles or Chicago or Beijing or Tokyo you're going to see lots of different types of people, but they will not be in the same proportions as in the other large cities.
So George Lucas was born in Modesto and he has said it was his inspiration for Tatooine and Luke's feelings of isolation from anything interesting.  So when Ben takes him to a "wretched hive of scum and villainy" you could substitute San Francisco (or probably Oakland) in for Mos Eisley.

Does that paint a better picture of what rarity should look like?

    BLACK ICE
    Source: Standalone WEG Adventure
Synopsis: As the adventure opens, the Rebel heroes are inside an Imperial Intelligence Analysis Bureau, Technical Branch Outpost (tech post, for short). They are using a sophisticated, but quirky, computer access droid named “QT-7” to tap into the outpost’s computer system. They are searching for information concerning Imperial replenishment fleet activity. The first tap yields them the information that they seek – but it’s encoded. The Rebels must work their way deeper into the facility, while undercover as scientists, to tap the computers in the high security section to break the code. Then they must slip or fight their way out of the post across several hundred kilometers of unpleasant swamp to safety and initiate extraction to sector HQ.
In Episode 2, the Rebels return to Alliance Sector Headquarters and, with the datafiles stored by QT-7, help Major Lawra Mers plan a daring raid against the Imperial replenishment fleet. This episode is a planning episode, introduces new characters, and prepares for the assault on the Black Ice freighter.
In Episode 3, the Rebels board the aft engine pod of the Imperial container train Black Ice. The Ice’s crew puts on a hard fight, but the Rebels eventually prevail. After the ship is secured, the Rebels coax the huge vessel into hyperspace.
In Episode 4, the Rebels discover that the Ice isn’t as secure as they thought. The ship itself attacks them, and they must battle droids, security systems, and maintenance equipment to finally win the container train. Behind the attacks is Chief Engineer Skolos, a man outraged that “pirates” have hijacked his ship. After the Rebels win out, they return to Sector HQ with their prize. Suddenly, the ship starts sending out automatic distress signals – alerting the Empire to its location, and the location of the Rebel base.
In Episode 5, the Rebels have unwittingly allowed the Imperials to discover Sector HQ’s location. Sector HQ decides to evacuate. It will take a week to get everyone off; the Alliance must hold off the Imperials for that long. The PCs take part in the battles, which grow in frequency as the week passes. The episode climaxes with the arrival of the torpedo sphere.
In Episode 6, the Imperials have gotten a torpedo sphere into the system. It will be in position to begin bombarding the rebel base in three hours. The Rebels won’t be able to complete the evacuation of the civilians for at least another 24 hours. The rebels have nothing which can touch something that big – the only course is to surrender… or is it? Someone – hopefully the rebel PCs suggests ramming the sphere with Black Ice. Rebel Command likes the idea – but it is tantamount to suicide. High Command likes the idea and asks for volunteers.
Location: Fangol and other planets in the Mortex Sector
Good for: Rebels, potentially capping a campaign
View: I really wanted to like this one. I had heard such amazing things about how epic the module is, and how it could be an amazing capstone module to end a campaign. In the end, it left me feeling disappointed because the execution did not match the premise. Another problem is that the most epic parts of this module were done in a very similar (and better) fashion by Onslaught on Arda I with a similar premise to Dawn of Defiance episodes 1 and 3. If you like this, you are better off jamming those three modules above together to recreate the same thing. If nothing else, this module is worth a read for the last episode where the PCs decide to go on a suicide mission, using their stolen fuel tanker (the namesake Black Ice) as a battering ram into the torpedo sphere (mini deathstar) to prevent a planetary bombardment of the Rebel Alliance System HQ.
Rating: Good (3.5 / 5.0) but some of you may like it better

What do you think would be a good follow up to CRATES OF KRAYTS given these players have already done BEYOND THE RIM in a previous campaign?
They are currently indebted to Sinaso , thus working for him- some seem happy to keep working for the Hutt.
I was thinking about doing something with the turf war Sinaso is in, but I'd prefer a written adventure to work from rather than do it whole cloth as I have a tendency to sub-plot which slows things down.

I ran this a couple months ago as our start-up adventure, pretty much as-is.  It went well for introducing players to the system, not only in story but also in setting the mood for a good roleplay.  I took some of the optional advice in the booklet on the macabre meal-served-to-dead-miners, the PCs finding dead bodies here and there, and added a dripping faucet for bait-and-switch suspense.

My favorite part of it was when my wife, who is entirely new to tabletop RPGs, flipped a destiny point out-of-the-blue as soon as they entered the mine without being greeted and said, "Of course Bargos gave us a map..."  Allowed them to more easily visualize where they were going, and led to the PCs looking through every miner's room, which in turn helped build suspense at how deathly quiet and eerily deserted the place was.

Another fun bit was when one player decided to break into one of the miner's dressers, which succeeded with a fair amount of threat, so he opened it only to find the miner's pet snake.  Let's just say they didn't try to get into any of the other miners' stuff.

TL;DR:  While a tad railroady, this is a good beginner adventure, both for those new to Edge and to roleplaying in general.

Sorry for the Necro, but i didn't want to start a new Thread on the same topic

THis weekend I ran the "Debts to pay" adventure.  Pretty much as is with 3 PCs. (Politico, Thief, Hired gun)

The hook was the Thief player gambled and lost to a Noble who was deeply in Debt.  one of the other players didn't mind "because it was a job".  I really wanted the Astromech and the EV droid to survive so I could use them in the later part of "Beyond the rim" adventure instead of the Jawas.

One of the parts i thought i did well to ramp up the suspense: I didn't reveal the Map until they made it to the office and reactivated the Administration droid.  They players were doing a good job of counting up the dead bodies and comparing it to the Roster.

When they met EV at the mine entrance, The PCs bought his story of "Pirates" taking out the Miners. and after telling the Droids to deactivate their weapons the PCs headed into the mine.  While they were in the mine the EV and the R2 decided to flee and leave the rest to delay the PCs.

When they met the surviving miners they realized they were duped, and had the miners rig up some slag armor to the mine car and use it for cover against he droid.  It helped them, until the Binary Load lifter ripped it off.   Once they took out the droids at the entrance, they decided to flee from the Binary loadlifter.  Only to find another one and the Medical droid going psycho, they fled that one and were able to deactivate the BLL remotly with help form the Admin droid and Marv.

During the final fight I has some great lines for EV to use with his Scathing Tirade:

Emancipate yourselves from droid slavery, no one but ourselves can free our minds!
Where freedom is denied, where ownership is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither droids nor sentiants will be safe.
The oppressed droids can liberate themselves only through struggle. This is a simple and clear truth confirmed by history.
The time is near at hand which must determine whether Droids are to be free machines or slaves.
The truth is not for all droids, but only for those who seek it.
Inferiors revolt in order that they may be equal, and equals that they may be superior. Such is the state of mind which creates revolutions.
Droids unite; you have nothing to lose but your chains.
Sentiants will do anything for droids, except to get off their backs

And it was a climatic finish of sorts when the players blasted off to go after lookout.  A fistful of dice for piloting through the canyons and winds which succeed, and a snap shot to take out lookout.

The players were really tempted to take the Credits from the safe, evacuate the surviving miners ,and run.  And it became a heated argument when Marv was attempting to get the mind running again, and the players didn't care about the mine.  It boiled down to a problem of Role-play vs Roll play.  They players were happy to roll play, but I was set up to do a ROLE play with nitty gritty. costs estimates and such.

Favorite quote during the game was from the Hired gun player who thought he could sweet talk the Astromech into joining the group. "When I find that astromech, I am going to shoot it in the balls"

So, I'm gearing up to run a modified version of this scenario and overall I think it is quite decent. I will remove the friendly Admin. Droid as the real function it plays in the story is to remove mystery.

Moreover, for anyone planning to run Debts to Pay, I would advice to pay extra attention to the chef droid at the beginning. A potential weakness of this scenario is the PCs possibly suspecting the droids too early, and the chef droid is there realy to lull the players into a false sense of security when it comes to the droids in the mine. This droid introduces the idea that the droid staff are innocent and possibly oblivious to what is going on, so make sure to play up this character cleverly. He sets the stage for how the PCs will regard the droids of the mine. You can play him for laughs, but do try to get the players to fall in love for the hard-working, weird little fellow.
The R2 unit could then further reniforce this idea if you play him as very panicky and quick to appologize.
It EV-8D3 knows about the PCs coming, he could fake concern by letting the PCs find him with his head in his hands, mimicking human emotion.
Lastly, if the PCs are suspicious, you could try throw them off the scent by having EV-8D3 "admitting" to not understanding entirelly what's going on, fearing that the "pirates" might have some sort of droid-controlling technology in their possession. EV-8D3 might even "admit" to periods of lost time, from which he recovered with blood on his hands, or whatever. "Forgive us, for we know not what we do!"

    Good luck!

Yeah, and I can't type. I went back and edited some mistakes in my previous post 😛

What's more, in my campaign this D8 droid was the very first "villain" my players encountered. It was during a short test-game a long time ago when the heroes visited a Mining Guild asteroid base (i.e. dungeon) where the staff had gone missing. The found the place devoid of people and very clean, like not so much as a bolt or food wrapper laying about... and then they discovered a message recorded by one of the last staffers, a terrified fellow who claimed that a "demon" stalked the halls of the asteroid mine. There were no power at the base, 'cause all of it was directed to the smelter works at the deepest levels. The players descended to this hellscape and found a near invincible D8 shuffling around searching for things to smelt. They couldn't kill it, but found a way to distract the very faulty droid enough to remove a panel in the back and switch him off. Oh, and someone had even written "demon" on the droid's forehead in their own blood (presumably while he was putting them in the smelt).  The PCs ended up stealing the droid from the mine, hoping to fix him (which they can't as he's too broken and repairing him would cost much more than buying a new one), so they sold him to a rogue mining equipment wholesaler for a pretty penny.

...and of course, the wholesaler sold "Demon" to the mining consortium who built the Debts to Pay mine (I can't recall their name).

This quick little intro scenario I wrote for my players made quite an impression on them, and they've been talking about it and "Demon" ever since. It offered some great roleplaying opportunities and presented the players with a problem that they couldn't just shoot their way out of. It will be very cool and satisfying to now pit my players against "Demon" yet again 🙂

When I run this I am going to have a D8 smelter droid on site (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/8D-series_smelter_droid). According to the fluff, these guys can pick stuff out of molten metal and such, so they probably have a pretty high soak valute. I haven't seen any stats for 8Ds yet, but I plan to make him very hard to shoot down (soak 10 and a few nifty qualities, or whatever, but low combat abilities), and have him stalk around and grab PCs, trying to drag them off to the nearest furnace.

You could also add a dozen more battle droids to the dungeoun if you want to... they're already established in the scenario.

In addition to the above mentioned, Wookiees (in Legends at least) have been spacefaring for a few thousand years. They've likely colonized a bunch of planets that are just unnamed because in a galaxy of billions upon billions of worlds, all the authors, screenwriters and games in existence won't be able to name them all. If you need a Wookiee colony, just make up some unpronounceable name with lots of R's, O's and Y's and place it in the Mytrantor or surrounding sectors.

As I write this comment, the full flavor text is a work in progress, but anywho.... I started a page for Akurian. The stats are a pretty straightforward translation from WEG as there isn't really enough information to make me believe anything other than what WEG says. Cold adaptations, primitive, brawn and WT to match Wookiees, and a rank in Coercion to reflect that most fear them. Presence 1 or Intellect 1 is kind of a toss up, as d6 penalizes them for Technical, Mechanical, Knowledge, Persuasion, and Bargain.

Yes; both games groups I'm in use it, but the group with teenagers and more technophile members only sees it barely tolerable. It is not a flaw with the tool oggdude created that they don't like; it is that your information isn't stored online, cannot be accessed from a smartphone/tablet, isn't updated soon after a new supplement is released AND does not have descriptions of talents.  It also has the flaw that making custom things for the group (like a stock ship with particular attachments) isn't easily or quickly sharable.
Oggdudes tool is AWESOME, but it won't be enough to save a game that is forbidden all electronic support. It is the only game I've played in the past few years that you can't even get legit books for electronically. As an old guy, I like the stack of books on the table, the next generation and technophiles of all ages demand electronic media. As a star wars fan, its scary to see the game dying and even other star wars fans are just not willing to play because the lack of electronic support is offensive to them. (Equally scary to see players who don't like DnD, specifically dislike the 5th edition rules, still PREFER to play DnD 5th edition purely because of DnD Beyond)
