  1. And against that Raddus list, if you can out-bid him for first player he’ll be in trouble. Demolisher likes the first player advantage, too. If you can outbid him, use your larger number of ships to save your big hitter until the end of a crucial turn. Set it up in a good position. Then, on the following turn, activate it first. I bet you’ve seen him do this to you.
  2. Do we need an acronym or Armada slang for the end of the forums? Forumpacalypse?
  3. F, man... Now I’ll never figure out how to best put videos into forum posts... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JdUq2opPY-Q
  4. To expand some... I don't know if Mon Mothma is the best Commander for the fleet. She works very well with most of your ships, but does nothing for the Ordinance Cruiser. If you have the core set, you'll also have Dodonna, who would work better with the Ordinance Cruiser and do fine with your other ships. The Turbolaser Reroute Circuits would let you change a die to a critical, if you wanted Dodonna to go fishing for a good one. If your opponent is not bringing squadrons, or brings only air-superiority ones, then your fleet is fine enough. If he's bringing bombers or anything that can go after your ships, then you need some squadrons of your own. You can drop one CR90 and get four X-Wings (maybe not the best choice, but if they're all you have they are good enough). However, whatever your fleet makeup is, you are definitely going about your tactics wrong. Don't lead with the Nebulons. They have long-range, front-facing guns with a narrow arc. They're snipers, with weak sides. The Ordinance Cruiser has short-range armaments. Lead with it, then follow with the Nebulons to protect is flank and clean up wounded ships in the later rounds. If you need to, you can use them to flack enemy squadrons your X-Wings have tied up. Your Ordinance Cruiser is the hammer blow. The CR90s are flankers. The Nebulons are clean-up. X-Wings are your fighter screen, if you need them.
  5. What’s your opponent’s fleet like? My guess is that you need some squadrons (maybe not, but probably). Otherwise, your fleet looks okay enough. It’s probably in how you’re using it. But knowing what you’re up against can help us know what you need to do against it.
  6. Maybe it’s a campaign thing.
  7. Maybe I’m thinking of the VCX... by the way, those Lambda’s need 2 more hull and should just be relay 1 🤪
  8. I’m enjoying these! I think I’d change the Lambda’s anti-squadron dice back to blue, though, at least for the ones with counter. I get needing to change things up with new colors for fighters and bombers, but those support squadrons are pretty well differentiated with those abilities.
  9. I always sort of thought of B-wings as being squadrons that kept close to your slower ships to protect them. Not being heavy, they can lock down and attack enemy squads, or punish ships that get close.
  10. I’m going to let that set-up lie, but I do appreciate it. 😆
  11. There’s actually a spot on the form where you can write in an extra amount you’d like to pay. At least, I noticed one a few years ago before we started using software to do figure our taxes out.
  12. Forcing someone to give up their money or property doesn’t make them (or you) generous.
  13. Right, but I’d rather pay insurance companies for health insurance than pay the government for it. Not to say that the health insurance industry doesn’t need some changes, it certainly does. But my health care costs have sky-rocketed since the Affordable Healthcare Act. I thought tort reform would have been a better choice.
  14. Most, if not all, of those countries could afford government-sponsored healthcare because throughout the Cold War the US was spending its own money to be able to defend both itself and Europe. Also, all those countries have a smaller, less widespread, less diverse population. The population of Norway is half the population of Los Angeles County. And these countries have tax rates far higher than in the US.
  15. I think that was just Lenin trolling the socialists... 😂
  16. And if you have a speed 3 ISD with the Tractor Beams upgrade, it might be able to keep a speed 4 capable ship like a CR90 in weapon range.
  17. Hey, these are examples of *Communist* counties. Communism and Socialism are totally not the same according to Communists or Socialists.
  18. I dispute this idea. An entrepreneur with the right product can create a market where none existed before, and some resources are things like information or creativity. Once you sell people Playstations you can create games to sell out of nearly nothing more than creativity and labor that pull in more money than blockbuster movies. And then you can sell people a Playstation 2, which they don’t need and didn’t want before you made it. Lots of people these days are making money selling things that don’t even physically exist, and some (shudder) are making money posting videos of themselves on YouTube, which didn’t even exist 16 years ago. Look, I can concede that there’s stuff to criticize even in my above examples (****, Huxley’s Brave New World critiqued it with its “Centrifugal Bumplepuppy”), but capitalism is not going to run out of stuff to sell you.
  19. Cards and cardboard that are impervious to queso or soda.
  20. Maybe, but we want our game and our community to have positive, reinforcing associations for them. Perhaps then we will get more love than X-Wing and Legion.
  21. An alternative Imperial idea: Quasar and Gladiator, using the Glad’s close range firepower to punish any ships closing on the Quasar. Add a naked flotilla, with an eye towards giving it BCC later. Squads: Stele, Strom, 3 TIE bombers. That gives you 4 remaining points for boosted comms on the Quasar or ordinance experts on the Gladiator. The squadrons might suffer against a good rebel fighter/bomber mix or a potent air superiority force, but that’s a bit of a handicap for the newbies to figure out how to exploit.
  22. Well, let’s see if... **** YOU!
  23. I fell for this last night, and then again today. I hope you’re happy.
  24. As far as banning large ships from initial fleets goes, doesn’t that essentially ban them from the campaign?
