That looks really good. I think it's more of a flavor thing between most of the Jedi. I like Mace because Force regen is super valuable. Also I just like having four super hard hitters. Not that Obi-Wan can't be, but I still find the bullseye and focus token he has to worry about too limiting (read: I'm not skilled enough for it).

I really like making the faction-specific cards interesting/playable with the update. I'm just not sure yet if it's worth over the generics or fitting it a named pilot like Wollfe, who works really well with Mace Windu because of the potential to dish out a Strain. What I like about the i3 pilots carrying dedicated is, hopefully they'll have already been targeted/shot at, so adding a strain to protect Mace isn't that big of a drawback.

I’ve been using this list since the Republic came out and it’s done well. But I’m wondering if I should mix it up and try out Dedicated. Original List: (50) "Wolffe" [ARC-170 Starfighter] (3) Clone Commander Cody Points: 53 (42) 104th Battalion Pilot [ARC-170 Starfighter] Points: 42 (42) 104th Battalion Pilot [ARC-170 Starfighter] Points: 42 (45) Mace Windu [Delta-7 Aethersprite] (18) Delta-7B Points: 63 Total points: 200 New Idea: (46) Squad Seven Veteran [ARC-170 Starfighter] (1) Dedicated Points: 47 (46) Squad Seven Veteran [ARC-170 Starfighter] (1) Dedicated Points: 47 (45) Mace Windu [Delta-7 Aethersprite] (18) Delta-7B Points: 63 (42) 104th Battalion Pilot [ARC-170 Starfighter] Points: 42 Total points: 199

Downloading multiple docs and using my calculator app is still better than the official app.

With R2-A6 and a bid you’ll have great range control and better chances to trigger his ability. I may end up dropping Juke for something cheaper but I see a lot of potential in him.

Yay! It looks like this is going to work. I've done the actual point lists of everything and ended up making a few adjustments, mainly swapping the torps to help the others. Ric Olie (42) - Juke (7) - FCS (2) - R2-A6 (6) - Shield Upgrade (6) Total - 63 Mace Windu (45) - Delta 7B (18) - R4 Astromech (2) Total - 65 Wollfe (50) - Palpatine (14) - Clone Commander Cody (3) - Dedicated (1) Total: 68 List total: 196 Edit: forgot dedicated can only be equipped to non-limited ships. Also it appears the N1 doesn’t have a mod slot so no shield upgrade.

Why is Wave IV Taking So Long to Be Released All of a Sudden?
kempokid replied to railwayman001's topic in X-Wing
Customs saw a box labeled as “Hyena-Class Droid Bomber” aaand that was it. They’re now going through each and every box to find the bombs. B&N used their aggressive negotiations to get through the trade blockade. -
Why is Wave IV Taking So Long to Be Released All of a Sudden?

In the first Republic/CIS demo they did, they jokingly said they were “rusty” with the cards they were playing with because they’re already like two waves down the road from that release. It’s possible they were still working on point costs and that sort of thing, but they’ve probably already wrapped up play testing for Wave V and are working on distribution at this stage. -
Congrats on the finish! Might not be a bad idea to try spacing them out. The concentrated fire is definitely a good thing, but it means your opponent can do it back to you. Maybe try it out next time you have the initiative advantage.

I've been familiarizing myself with this setup on FlyCasual. Should be room to make adjustments. As of right now with the beta projections, this is around 190 points. Wollfe with Palpatine Mace Windu with 7B Ric Olie with Juke, FCS, adv proton torpedoes, shield upgrade, & R2-A6.
-
Don't forget too that if you're winning earlier, it means your games should get more difficult. You're playing opponents more similar to your playing level so a lot of those are potential 50/50 match-ups and those mistakes you mentioned carry way more weight on an outcome than they do against easier opponents. Also, yes to snacks and water over energy drinks (maybe one energy drink/soda towards the end). I always bring a bag of Pretzels to munch on through the day and a cliff bar or two in case I start feel weak.

Obviously there’s still too much unknown about Wave IV, but today I tested this out: Wollfe with Commander Cody & Palpatine Mace Windu with 7B Ric Ollie with Juke, FCS, adv proton torpedoes, & R2-A6. This is at 192 based on the beta points. I think there’s some wiggle room here to drop or add on if needed. But it performed well against a Boba/Fenn Rau list. Generally I’ve found 4 ships is better than 3. And I may find it’s too many points to add onto Ric. This works great though because it can be a unit or they can be self-sufficient. I’m considering a shield upgrade on Ric if points allow. It’s almost a steal since he can manipulate his stat line and get good value out of those agility-scaled upgrades.

Definitely not reliable given it doesn’t even have all the new cards/upgrades listed. Like R2-A6. I’d assume it’s in the 4-6 range, or perhaps scalable by Initiative given it’s a better card for higher Initiative pilots.

If Anakin is at 44, how effective would he be with an Instinctive Aim + Adv Proton Torpedo at 52? 3 Speed Maneuver for a free evade followed by a boost/barrel roll into Range 1. Ideally you'll want a TL or focus/force with Adv Protons because of the number of dice, but you could use to shift target priority on your opponent and catch them in a bad spot.

Why is Wave IV Taking So Long to Be Released All of a Sudden?

If anything it's going to further encourage them to withhold the points until the official "release." Not really fair to give away points so people who happened to find them/order them at B&N (mostly likely by B&N's/FFG's mistake) can play ships the majority of the players haven't accessed yet. I guess it's possible for them to release points and make them officially able to use in tournaments after the official launch date. -
The Handmaidens seem good, but I would have liked a mid-tier generic with access to an Elite so I can run two with Juke. Doesn't seem like that will be an option. Ric and Padme will be as close as it gets (assuming she has an elite). As far as points go, I think it's good to cost things relative to its own faction and the options within that faction. That being said, these ships have a similar stat line as the Advanced X1, which starts at 38. They have a comparable dial. X1 have at least one linked action. I also think Adv. Targeting Computer is a better ability. Full Throttle gives you a chance for two actions in a turn, but consistently using 3-5 speeds isn't easy. I'm not sure the potential for an evade token outweighs a third agility die over the course of a game. I'd venture to guess 32 would be a good starting point for the Handmaidens. Edit: I didn’t realize there was another generic pilot for the N1. That’s good, I think. I hope they keep that point cost shown in the Wave IV beta.

Rebellion Reborn - Preview the Resistance Transport

"The Resistance Transport Expansion Pack (SWZ45) is releasing alongside the rest of Wave IV on June 6! " lol -
Based on your response and @theBitterFig‘s I will accept that it can’t happen. But I still can’t wrap my head around how it’s not simultaneous when the timing window referenced is the same. It’s semantics I guess.
-
R4-P17 says: After you fully execute a red maneuver, you may spend 1 [charge] to perform an action, even while stressed. Full Throttle on the Naboo Starfighter says: After you fully execute a speed 3-5 maneuver, you may perform an [evade] action. Both of these are happening in the same timing window, so my assumption is I can use R4-P17 to gain an evade after a 3 Talon-Roll, correct? R4 isn't restricting you to your action bar, so this seems doable.

I miss being able to put the boost action on any ship. Particularly the Shadowcaster. I think there's a way to scale the original Engine Upgrade to account for both ship size and Initiative. Aside from that, I do kinda miss the Resistance/Rebel and FO/Empire as same factions. I know it doesn't make much sense and now each faction is getting rounded out a bit more, but I loved flying QuickDraw with two Gunboats or Wedge with Poe.
