I prefer sensor cluster over PA on QuickDraw, but I'd be open to PA instead. I'd be curious to know why chose it when you have Expertise, which typically has you avoiding stress.
-
Yeah, this build only would make sense if you're flying it with Shara, and you plan to steal her target lock. Even then, I think there are better uses than double-stressing Norra because it takes away other EPs and her crew slot to deal with it. It works, but it takes away a lot of other synergies.
-
Agreed, with extra munitions on both, you'll have more than enough weapons supply I would think. Protectorate is super fun to fly. I've been using with the ShadowCaster.
-
I guess Nien Nunb is like a Unique navigator, but I see your point.
-
Navigator lets you change your maneuver to another maneuver of the same bearing. So if you go with a green 2 bank, you can change to a 1 or 3 bank, or any other green maneuver. Doesn't directly correlate with her ability, but gives her even more dial change options.

VT = Vectored Thrusters. Gives her the barrel roll action. Good for repositioning and half the points of Engine Upgrade. I tend to push my luck with 3PO as well... especially at range three. Always go to cancel two and end up getting hit.

How's this look? (100) "Zeb" Orrelios (23) - Attack Shuttle Autoblaster Turret (2), Kanan Jarrus (3) Hera Syndulla (55) - VCX-100 Fire Control System (2), Twin Laser Turret (6), Tactician (2), Nien Nunb (1), Engine Upgrade (4) Ahsoka Tano (22) - TIE Fighter Veteran Instincts (1), Sabine's Masterpiece (1), Captured TIE (1), Intelligence Agent (1), Black Market Slicer Tools (1)

I've tried Kyle, Ezra, and C-3PO on Norra. I think it depends on what you're pairing it with. I fly Norra with a Ghost/Shuttle, and found C-3PO is the best fit in that build because it helps Norra live longer. You have a chance to get three evades, which is nice when you're left with just Norra. If you had her paired with other ships, I think you can make a case for Kyle or Expertise/Tail Gunner.
-
This is a pretty nice build, though I think the points for proton torpedoes could be used elsewhere. Since Norra is expensive, I think VT works better than EU. That's 6 points saved that could go to a friendly ship while still delivering the same amount of punch (since the torps make you spend the TL, and you could just use that TL to add a 4th die anyway).
-
Would you put EU on the Ghost for extra maneuverability, or will the points not allow it?
-
I'd go for Norra. Jan may help give the other two dice, but it has no offensive benefit of its own. Norra's ability to add results and reroll is too deadly to leave on the board. Two Arcs against two T70's is interesting. I'd give the edge to the arc's, especially if one of the T-70s got one-shot.

I like this idea a lot. Almost makes me want to downgrade the Starfighter to put Zuvio on the board with a scavenger crane. Could get a lot of use out of it with the number of squishy ships on the board.

That's pretty impressive. I have a max 8 dice list that may require less chance to hit than this one does: Max Dice (99) "Zeb" Orrelios (13) - TIE Fighter Ahsoka Tano (21) - TIE Fighter Veteran Instincts (1), Sabine's Masterpiece (1), Rey (2) Jan Ors (35) - HWK-290 Swarm Tactics (2), Ion Cannon Turret (5), Moldy Crow (3) Ezra Bridger (30) - Attack Shuttle Swarm Leader (3), Finn (5), Targeting Computer (2) Jan gives Ezra PS8 to shoot first (4 at range one). Ezra takes an evade from Zeb and Ashoka (5 & 6). Jan gives Ezra an additional dice (7). Finn adds a blank (8). Ezra's action was either a focus or Target Lock, and Ashoka gives him the other action with a focus she has saved up with Rey. Edit: I put the Ion turret on Jan to help Ezra get a range one shot on someone.

Also, this. FCS and Ghost is a match made in heaven. I overlooked that in my first response.

If you're going with the second option, I would suggest a few things. Either switch the turrets to put TLT on Kanan, or drop the TLT on Sabine to give Biggs a better Astromech. Also, Hera makes better sense on the Ghost than on the shuttle. Remember, if the Phantom is docked, you can't use any of its upgrades. However, that advice is dependent on keeping the shuttle docked as long as possible. It seems you may be looking to send out Sabine much sooner than I typically do.

How did Shara shoot before Norra? Norra has the higher pilot skill. Adaptability to increase PS by 1? Also, I'm assuming Finn is Norra's crew member. Wasn't listed above, but the points work out to 43 including Finn.
-
I only pull out Biggs when I use my B-Wing Swarm. I don't think you should drop the K-Wing for Biggs at all. I'm just not sure it's the best use of Scavenger Crane. But I've never tried it in that way.
-
Makes total sense in that build. Biggs takes the damage, allowing her to fire, then gets it back after Biggs dies. It's a pretty great use of those cards. Without Biggs taking the heat, I'm not sure how viable it is as a strategy. Not saying it can't work, but I'm just not sure it's something you could count on.
-
I didn't think about using the Crane to recover Captured TIE. That's interesting, but that late in the game, I'm uncertain what the purpose is of keeping Ashoka from firing as she is likely to have already lost her bomb. Make sense to give Norra an action through Ahsoka, but I would want the ability to reposition with vectored thrusters. PTL would allow you to focus, target lock, and barrel roll in one turn.
-
I don't see Scavenger Crane being that effective on Ashoka, unless you're planning to not attack with her until both of your ships are gone. In a tournament setting, you're bound to encounter other Aces (Poe, Fel, RAC + VI). I would probably go with EMP device to help set up your K-Wing's bombs. I would also put the Thermals on the K-Wing if you decide against Scavenger Crane on Ashoka. VI on Norra doesn't make sense to me either, especially without Vectored Thrusters to reposition. In my experience, PtL is really the best EP on Norra, unless you go Expertise/Tail Gunner. Either way, looks like a lot of fun. Norra is great for the end game. She's likely to be targeted first, so that should give you an advantage on when/where to plant your bombs.

Thoughts for an original trilogy tournament lists

If you're not able to, I'd go C-3PO and HotShot Copilot methinks. -

I really like the Rebel list, but do find it odd you can use unique crew members that aren't from the original Trilogy. -
This is what I've been enjoying at the moment: (97) "Duchess" (29) - TIE Striker Expertise (4), Adaptive Ailerons (0), Lightweight Frame (2) "Quickdraw" (39) - TIE/SF Fighter Expertise (4), Fire Control System (2), Sensor Cluster (2), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2) "Omega Leader" (29) - TIE/FO Fighter Juke (2), Comm Relay (3), Stealth Device (3) QuickDraw is the definite threat here, so I try to position Dutchess to come in and help when the attacking starts.
-
You should be able to make the points work to have an Ace, Biggs, and Kyle. If you're going RecSpec on Kyle, you should probably make room for the title, but that's just my opinion. It may not be totally necessary.

Looking to get into flying scum, need help!
kempokid replied to MashedBROTATOES's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
I recently got the Shadow Caster and a Protectorate Starfighter to go with it. I've only used it a few times, but it's been some of the most fun I've had playing the game. If you want ultra-competitive lists, I suggest looking at the expansions needed to make a list that finished high at Worlds. I recently ordered some Quadjumpers because they look like fun and have enough jank to annoy enemies. They're really a blank canvas that can fit into most lists, it seems.
