  2. There were actually 3 nerfs to Nantex: 1. Timing change means you can't do Nantex hot potato and toss a single tractor across multiple ships (they wouldn't meet the prerequisites to go in the ability queue now) 2. Ship only moves the first time it's tractored each round so you can't ditch your token, then get another one from a buddy to move again 3. You only lose a die when you're "Tractored", not just by having a tractor token on you correction 4: can't use ship ability while ioned
  3. Well, new RRG just nerfed tractor shenanigans multiple times...that was fast Recap of changes that affect Nantex : 1.   4. I'm testing now. Can confirm frustrating, trying to confirm OP. Specifically looking at counterplay and effectiveness thereof.
  5. If I'm hiding behind a cloud at long range, I have a mod, in fact I have multiple mods. If I jump to R1, I'm getting shot by maybe `1 ship if that, in which case, mods are not relevant because dice are not being rolled. If I tractor myself to repo through a cloud, I still have mods because I didn't execute a maneuver going through it. Why does everyone think a Nantex is always chilling on no tokens?
  6. Nantex can repo through gas clouds and fly through them while still having a lot of actions, Nantex love them A LOT more than Jedi
  7. So, let me be more clear: I'm saying that "by the time you are applying tractor tokens and moving people onto rocks, you already have a massive advantage just by virtue of how good the Nantex is at close range, therefore, I would rather have clouds to help me get to that close range"
  8. This may be Heresy, but I'm happier with gas clouds than rocks with Nantex. More protection from long range, you can repo through them with no penalty and fly through them and still get your relevant actions I.e. Ship ability with taking damage. I think asteroids are a greed play if you have more than 1 Nantex because, by the time you're tractoring enemies, your already at your ideal range.

  10. What if he has Focus and Predator? Passive reroll, focus mod and enemy -1 die isn't one of the hardest hitting ships in the game? If that's your opinion...I dunno, it's wrong. You keep saying he doesn't have mods, but that's completely wrong, Sun Fac has them more often than he doesn't, the entire point of the bumping discussion it that, unlike Fenn Rau or Soontir or Vader who just bumps and is stuck where they're at, Sun Fac can bump and still arc dodge and still manipulate the position of an enemy...AND still has a turret so when he's dodging past he can still chuck 4 dice while you're -1 die. Screw it, wait for worlds and tell me your thoughts after that on Sun Fac. I'm calling at least 1, probably 2 or more in the top 16.
  11. ...5 dice while you're -1 die DOES do more damage than anything in the game. Also, Soontir isn't blocking you, Soontir is getting blocked by you, in which case you have mods, or you're moving after him in which case he's dead.
  12. ...the enemy being -1 die and you getting +1 die is not "unmodded". Also it took exactly 1 game for me to be permanently attached to predator on non-Chertek ships because when you're just ramming people, you R1 bullseye a lot.
  13. They can also 5 straight boost through a gas cloud because there is no god.
  14. Sun Fac, Brewer Kett and Chertek can all fit in a list with Ensnare and a sizable bid. I will take 5 Cartel Marauders with that all day.

  16. I feel like I'm trying to tell everyone the Soylent Green is people...screw it, taste it for yourself and see, but don't say you weren't warned...
  17. So, dumb scenario: I have three Nantex with Ensnare, one in back and two in front of it. I'm trying to catch Soontir. The back Nantex has tractored itself and is pointing it's arc at the front two who are not tractored. At the end of the activation phase, the back Nantex passes it's tractor to one of the Nantex up front that then boosts or barrels to get Soontir in their turret at R1. Can that Nantex then give it's tractor to Soontir? As far as I'm aware, this works because, by the time the ship recieving the tractor token checks for Ensare, it sees that it has a token and that it can proc the ability. Ensnare for Reference: "At the end of the Activation Phase, if you are tractored, you may choose 1 ship in your arc at range 0-1. Transfer 1 tractor token to it."
  18. Sun Fac is...different. Fenn Rau doesn't scare my droids at all, but Sun Fac does. When Rau moves and gets blocked, he's just there to be shot at with no mods from the R2 shots. When Fac moves and gets blocked, he isn't there anymore and one of your ships is gone.
  19. If you can keep him from stuttering and jumping to r1, it's a game, otherwise, he one-shots a droid every turn, so you're on a finite clock.
  20. It makes it hard to create an effective killbox for the Nantex. I had an opponent try to create a killbox for Chertek with 4 ships. Chertek slammed on the gas and rammed 1, got barely out of the arc of another, then tossed a tractor on another and pushed it to where it couldn't shoot, so a 4 ship killbox with a block became a 1ship killbox and Chertek still got an offensive mod off the tractor and his pilot ability.

People dislike it because it can bump, turn it's turret, repo itself with a tractor, repo you with that same tractor, reduce your agility with that tractor and 2 of the pilots will have another buff on top of that. But sure, pretend everyone who thinks a ship with 5 effective actions on a bump is just people spasing out for no reason.
  22. To be fair, droids with grappling struts also kind of played a different game. That seems to just be the CIS thing "X-Wing is stupid, we're going to make our own game with Sabaac and hookers!"
  23. So, Ensare Chertek is undercosted right? That pilot is unreal for 49pts. Sun Fac is also pretty dumb, but at 78, it's hard to really say "too dumb" without more testing. I need more games, but these ships have already been really bonkers and weirdly, not that frail, but that's likely because of the turret allowing them a lot more fexibility that normal aces don't have. In fact, Fac and Chertek feel like bizzaro aces, they dont run and be all dodgy, they just stay in the knife fight stabbing your kidneys.
