I'd say yes to X-wing and Legion, Armada I think will go the way of 1.0 X-wing. 3/4 waves of the new factions then the last wave with '2.0 cards preview included', followed by wholesale change.
They indicated on one post they want to look into campaigns and tournament play, they may even open their own forums.

Overall a lot of very good changes. 
But as a whole, utterly underwhelming. What a wasted opportunity. 

But, my lord... this is what you wanted.
 
For real, though, people have been complaining about too much generic efficiency, now we have somebody complaining about having to take named pilots.  There really is no winning.

It's grossly transparent Hyperspace is being used as the "buy pls" format and it has like... Very few interesting options. Don't get why so many factions have so few generic options like, come on I don't even LIKE running named pilots most of the time... Ugh. Names names names!

Come on. This sucks.

It might be worth trading Black One for Daredevil on Nien, or dropping Starbird on Zizi since Zizi won't always know where a ship will be to fly over because the high initiative.
Zari seems like the ideal Starbird Slash carrier since she doesn't mind driving into people, so she will likely be in places where she will be driving over someone anyway.

I'm 100% fine with it.
It is only relevant for competitive play, everyone else can proxy without any problem whatsoever.
It is completely impossible to make every card immediately available for every faction. I hope we can all agree on that, so we are just arguing about the length of the delay.
Of course the shorter the better, and of course I would love to get more card packs.
But buying something for $20-50 I might use less often for something I really need to compete at an event where the plane ticket is $400, the hotel is another $200, and the food, transport etc will add another $200 seems entirely ok.

You know, on reflection, what is the word for mansplaining to someone you think is a man? If you read through all his replies to me, you'll see him assuming I don't have basic knowledge about the game meta frequently. While he just has to make his arguments, I had to make my arguments, and I had to make the case that I was coming from a place of legitimacy/competence to people who don't know me from my play.

So I'd like to turn this around on you @Revan Reborn. Why should people listen to you? The Onager was only out for two months before quarantine, and I don't think any of us have seen you on Vassal or Tabletop Simulator. Have you played Cracken in wave7 or 8? Rebel MSU in wave 7 or 8? Is there anyone who you can tag to confirm that for us?

No one is ever right all the time, you, me, anyone. That you hear this all the time to me says you hear this IRL as well, you may do well to look at this.
