The only things I have been able to purchase this week are the core, The Forgotten Age, and all mythos packs from that cycle.
I figured that once I have sorted all the cards, between all those packs I should have enough player cards to make at least a fun deck to play.
Dunwich is my least played and least favourite campaign. The others are mechanically more interesting. As the card pool grows, there is no actual need for the cards from the dunwich campaign
Yes, it's possible. Each campaign is playable with only the Core Set and itself. You'll only miss player cards (some of which are admittedly very useful, but not required).
I really hope we get more content for HoT. It's a blast to play, so far it's one of the few games at the table that nobody has any complaints about or grumbles when someone mentions it.
Agreed. I've played Destiny a few times. It's simplistic and quite boring. I prefer the LCG. I also love Arhkam Horror and LOTR LCG, A Star Wars game based on the same model would be a sure buy.
Just curious what people think about the Star Wars LCG being re-released in a co-op format? I personally would love it as due to work I now am out of the city and in country areas where apart from some magic players there is no competitive community for other games. Also as I get older competitive isn't something that interests me as much.
I also have no interest in Star Wars Destiny. Whilst I've heard great things the reason I got out of Magic years ago was it seemed like the card version of heroin so I avoid the CCG model altogether.
Some people have said that FFG already have Arkham Horror and LOTR. I have AH and admit it's great and I also love the LOTR setting but Star Wars is my main love. If they were to release a SW co-op I'd snap it up like hotcakes.
Keen to see what other people's thoughts are.
The original Star Wars LCG card game was an adventure game modeled after LOTR in which one or two players executed dangerous missions, explorations, etc. against the Empire; after being demoed at Gen Con, it was canceled and replaced by the current 2-player version.
But now that FFG has come out with an LCG Arkham Horror adventure card game using a streamlined version of the LOTR card game engine, I'd like to see this trend continue and the solitaire/2-player co-op card game resurrected. As a player who can rarely find other to play against, almost all the FFG Star Wars games are relatively useless to me (though I have them anyway--go figure!). I'd really like to see a Star Wars LCG for one or two players to join the excellent company of LOTR and AH adventure card games.
