  1. Be nice to see if FFG take notice. There is clearly a demand for a card based game for Star Wars, it is just a matter of finding one that would suit the greater number of players (as I am sure a bunch of SWLCG players didn't play Destiny, and vice versa). Would you like them to go down the Marvel Champions route, where you get a core with a bunch of characters and a few scenarios to play, and then keep character and scenarios separate? Would you prefer a more full on immersive story based campaign, like Arkham Horror, with a mix of scenario and player cards in each pack (Which I personally hate now I have seen Marvel Champions)? Or would you prefer a new take on the competetive LCG, to replace the original and Destiny and have a strong organised play community? This could be a 2.0 reboot or even something like a reskinned Conquest (like someone already mentioned).
  2. I think this is even less likely right now than ever. The changes in the company worry me slightly, but it feels like they are tightening their belts and focussing primarily on the lines that are selling well (which in business makes a whole lot of sense). I was surprised to see that new Cosmic Encounter game, but it is something that would have been in development for a while, and probably before the decision to end Destiny, and they wanted to get it out. With Thrones taking a different direction (and pumping out reformatted old cards) and Lord of the Rings about to 'take a break' I would be extremely surprised if we see any new LCG's for some time. Marvel Champions and Arkham Horror will probably be the ones to keep going for a while yet.
  3. I agree. I have no interest at all in the multiplayer mode, as I play all my games casually at home with my wife. I will now be paying for a box where at least 30% of the content I will never use, and I will split it out and keep it separate. This reminds me of when they did Balance of the Force for the Star Wars LCG, and that was an expansion I skipped over altogether.
  4. Yes, I linked to this in my original post 😉
  5. Ah yes, of course it was! I think these are great, especially for new players, as you can pretty much grab a core and these and you are pretty much ready to go with some deck building options (optionally buying the Clan packs). Especially good for casual players like myself that don’t care too much about rotation and tournament play!
  6. Does anyone know anything about a Clan War Expansion? While I was looking at pre-orders on two of my usual UK retailers I noticed this: https://www.board-game.co.uk/product/l5r-lcg-clan-war-expansion/ https://www.magicmadhouse.co.uk/fantasy-flight-games-legend-of-the-five-rings-the-card-game-clan-war-expansion-p313249 The latter suggests it will be available in January 2020. I checked through all the articles to see if it had been mentioned and I can't seem to find anything. It wasn't mentioned at the in-flight was it? I was also reading the article about roation here: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2019/5/23/mono-no-aware/ This mentions preimum expansions. Do you think this will be the first of its kind? I also noticed on the file name of the PDF for the latest fiction that it was labelled as Clan War too: https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/40/b5/40b52196-4077-4def-9fbe-0090d7941b43/l5c_clan_war_1_behind_the_empty_throne_lorez.pdf Maybe a subtle hint at what is to come? I am really excited to find out more!
  7. The only things I have been able to purchase this week are the core, The Forgotten Age, and all mythos packs from that cycle. I figured that once I have sorted all the cards, between all those packs I should have enough player cards to make at least a fun deck to play.
  8. I know this has probably been asked a hundred times, but I can't see to find a recent one, and I would love an answer. Is it possible to still jump into this game now, with possibly 2 cores and then skip some of the earlier cycles (Like Dunwich)? I find that some of the boxes or decks in the cycle are harder to find. Also I really like the idea of playing The Path to Carcosa abd The Forgotten Age over Dunwich.
  9. I am still holding out hope for something like this. Not another competetive LCG (as I think Destiny fills that place for FFG and sells well), but a co-op story driven card game, either like Arkham or something as simple as Heroes of Terrinoth would be greatly appreciated. The other possibility would indeed be a reskin of Conquest, but if they were going to do that they might as well just do a 2.0 version of the original SW Card game.
  10. I came here looking to see if anyone had posted anything similar and was pleased to see I am not alone in my thoughts. I would love to see a Arkham-esque (story driven not the theme) LCG for Star Wars that could be played solo. Now that Imperial Assault is drying up, and the only really other solo offering is Outer Rim (which doesn't float my boat) I would love to see other options for the collectable card game market.
  11. I don't believe they can. The mechanics of the game were from Richard Garfield, and owned by Hasbro/Wizards of the coast and the reason why they had to stop production, even after a new core and a short run of new cards. The only thing that FFG have right to use is the Android setting. If they wanted to produce a new Android LCG it would have to be a completely different game.
