  1. Unless I just totally missing something look like no Runewars events will be at Adepitcon 2019.  Adepitcon 2018, I was the only person that showed up for the Thursday tournament, I disappointed with the turn out to say the least.  It was also the same Adepitcon the Legion lunch at, and FFG didn't have a single Runewars model and/or table on display.   I get Legion was going to be huge deal for FFG, but not having any Runewars at the FFG booth seem like slap in the face for people trying to support the game.  Anyone else feel like they kind of just drop all Runewars promotion at the largest miniatures convention two years in row?

Swag bags only for Premium badges, aka 1200 attendees. I skipped out on getting it because I didn't think it'd be worth the cost.

Well, I know I was wrong. lol At least I've already reordered everything.

I like how this year people were given the option to not get the swag bag, buy has someonewho been to last 8 Adepticon, the bag is always worth it. Heck, I wanted to get the VIG swag, but sold out.

Honestly, as a tabletop war/skirmish gamer, this is starting to make me feel like I spend too much on my hobbies.

I look at the prices FFG is asking, consider what all I'm getting in the packs, and shrug off a "Well, less expensive than like three other games I'm playing..."

I can see that, I just really enjoyed Rank and File games and I'm glad FFG doing this game.  I'm always been really happy how they build their gaming community with tournaments and events.  So, at least I know my money going to toward something, I play other mini-games that would be less expense but do an awful job of doing community events

Huh.  I was looking at the product page for the expansions again and they're showing the price as $24.95.  Think it's an error, or was the earlier price an error?

Awsome! I thought that 30$ wasn't too bad for a table top game, but hey 5$ off is always nice.

It's official, no RuneWars events at AdeptCon, hopefully, there will still be events I can sign up for in that time slot.   I'm disappointed, but still looking forward to playing the game.

Not entirely true, this is from the other thread.

"I wouldn’t draw too many conclusions on release dates from our email response. It is certainly one of the challenges attempting to schedule events for a yet unreleased game six to eight months in advance. We thought there would be a good chance, but also knew at the time that the schedule would potentially be tight to allow enough time between release of the game and our organized events. I know that Runewars will be at the show in some capacity still, and looking at schedule options as well as replacement events. We are actively working with Fantasy Flight Games, and will have some more concrete news in the coming days.

Anyone currently signed up, will receive a full refund for the events. If you would like to cancel your entire registration (and receive a full refund), just contact info@adepticon.org, however you may want to see what other options are available before making that decision!

    AdeptiCon Director"

True, I should have said the tournaments are not happening. I'm am looking forward to FFG bring demo and preview stuff for Runewars.  Just little bum out is all. Still playing other events at Adepticon, really wanted to do the team tournament.

  7. On the Runewars Facebook page, there's a screenshot with an email from adepticon saying the RW events have been cancelled due to production delays. Those attending may wish to verify.

Well this would be a big let down.  I sign up for Runewars team tournament with a friend.  I have sent Adepticon an email to see if the events still happening.

  8. I think having formation size limits is a balance issue. You have 6 archers spread out in a line, even on a bad roll you will realistically get one hit, archers add one, for 12 damage. Even on a whiff that is 6. That will cripple most big blocks and flat out kill most anything on an average roll of 2 +1 or higher. That same can be said of a line of infantry.

Or preventing cheese of 3 front 1 second, third, and 4th rows for x3 damage with 3 rerolls. After all the design aesthetic is realistic formation combat, not L or T formations for minmaxing.

I think the strategy the guy is talking about is if it is worth it to go from a 2 x 2 formation with one good upgrade or a 3 x 3 with one or two smaller ones. Or having a small upgraded army or a larger one with few or no upgrades depending on point cost.

Good call, I didn't think about doing that with range units. That would definitely be OP.  I hoping the bases will improve with the finally releases.

  9. Because FFG has interrupted Battlelore, I m still waiting for the elf faction, and because FFG has interrupted my favourite game of all time wharhammer 40k conquest LCG probabily for make this game that seems a very good game, but sorry, I have spent a lot of money in the above products that FFG hasn't complete.

I hated to see Warhammer 40K conquest go and we will never get to see a Forbidden stars expansion, that's was ready to go to print.  I don't understand why people are so upset about Battle lore 2nd edition.  I own the game, still play it today as a great fast light wargame.   FFG never said they were going to make elf's, don't get me wrong I would buy them today if they came out.   With three factions each with an Army upgrade and more neutral units that can be used by any side.  Battle lore 2nd is a full game, and I don't think it's made lesser by not having more factions.

Do really need anther "I'm not buying this game, because of X" thread?  I'm beyond excited that a major player in the tabletop industry going a to make a rank and file miniatures game.  If someone told me that FFG or really any company going to make a new IP R&F game, I wouldn't have believed them.  GW literally blow up the Warhammer Old world, to make Age of Sigmar, because they didn't want to make a R&F game anymore.

Almost everything I've seen about this game has me very excited, but nothing is without its warts.  For me there are 2 things that I think are flaws.

First and more importantly I don't like the doubling results mechanics, I'd rather just roll more dice, so it's a let down

Second, I think that the damage I'm seeing in the demos is quite a lot, especially when you get such few figures (one attack from the archer nearly wiped out the cavalry for example)

I recognize these are more personal preference than anything else, but what are everyone else's thoughts?  Anything you dislike or have concerns about?

It's too earlier to tell, in the demo games, they were using a faster rule set.  The rule of doubling is really genius, I have always hate rolling so much dice in games past.  Just take to much time and energy to count a bucket of dice every roll.

Nah, that's always been the funnest part for me

To each his own, I just don't think its a flaw more a different road to get to the same place.
