I don't know if this would be any good.   Salvation could be swapped for a bare bones potato, maybe not the threat,  but more durable?
Picturing the mc30's in the lead with yavaris , bees, and salvation following for clean up.  Lots of threats.  Antilles to cloak bees.

@Herr Style, I've been trying to craft a similar Mothma list with both Admonition, Foresight, and Expert shield techs.  It seems like a tanky combo.  I just can't figure out what to pair with the twins.
Mothma Foresight rocks! Nothing better than having Demo rush in, get two crits and have to re-roll them out of crits.

The command kittens with ET are hard to pin down.  I do think Jer Jerod makes for a better commander for them than ramodi. Throw in redundant shields and you can Jerry turn at will and CF for a constant 4 dice out the side.

Outboundflight played a great game!  I underestimated the power of Sloan MJ and friends.  I started by mixing up my move order to begin with and got Ozzel Arquittens shot up by squads.  But Squall ended up moving into red range of ozzel.   I saw my chance and accelerated my school of kittens  to attack.  I was able to cripple Squall turn 2.  Needa finished it off turn 3 and ran away with his hair on fire after some ISD and MJ love.  The angry ISD charged my tightly packed fleet, but, without any squad commands queued up,  his fighters were on time out.
My fleet didn't skatter in time and Blue arquitten just barely got popped.   Ramodi slipped out of the ISd front arc for a last first activation.
Turn 4, Needa was just barely double arced by ISD so had to shoot and scoot.  Fleet preservation was more important than putting more fire into ISD.  My coms net was caught flat footed speed 1 having just been passing repair tokens to everyone.
There was chasing, there was shooting.  And that was that.
Thank you @OutboundFlight for the challenging game.
Thank you @Cael for setting up the tournament!

Thanks for the vlogs guys! That was great!

I don't mean to tread on any toes, but I'd like to share a few thoughts/observations.

    1) @Dupy that was some fantastic Arquittens flying!  Sure the engine techs and the rift played their part.  Even so, it was mesmerizing to watch those ships position themselves so well.  Kinda like watching a school of fish or flock of birds harassing something. When one would retreat another would make it's attack.  The ISD felt like it was striking at shadows while being harassed to death.
    2) @GhostofNobodyInParticular  I feel for you with the loss of the VSD.  One click and the entire tournament is lost 😞
    3) I can't help but think that if the ISD had been able to slow to speed 1 on turn 3 then this match would have turned out the exact opposite.  The ISD probably would have survived.  The goazanti flotilla would still have died.  If this had been the case and the VSD hadn't flown off the board then Dupy would have been eliminated from the tournament (for not having scored any points) and the worst GNIP would likely have taken was a scared ISD.
    4) I don't agree with the ruling that the rift doesn't slow your initial maneuver.  My interpretation of the final sentence in the objective is that it is just clarifying that the rift's speed reduction effect doesn't affect the extra move that the objective provides.

Anyway, thanks for sharing guys!  Can't wait to see the rest of the tournamet 🙂

GNIP played a great game.  Tua on his own, diverted a whole lot of GNOP's fleet from engaging my fleet.
In the end his ISD just didn't have enough hull/shields to stay alive in the kill box of 4 Kittens.
Thank you for the good game and patience, sir.  Have a great night.

The game versus @Dupy concluded in a crushing victory for Dupy.
    Logfiles:
    Part 1 Part 2
I went first and chose his Rift Ambush. I deployed in the bottom left corner, hoping to go around the far side of the rift and catch his forces in their flank. Unfortunately some poor positioning and bad decisions led to the VSD being out of the fight, and the ISD was left all alone. Some bad rolls meant that the Tua ECM Slicer Tools Gozanti in my ISD's rear turned 2 Repair commands into squadron commands, and survived 4 squadron dice, an ISD's rear arc, and a VSD's side (all at close-medium range) in one turn, limping away with 1 hull. Similarly bad rolls meant his other Gozanti (at medium to my ISD's front arc) also survived.
Surprisingly, my ISD nevertheless survived to the last activation of Turn 5, and my Gozanti managed to ram Tua to death at the start of Turn 5. I foolishly flew my VSD off the board on Turn 4 (missed it by that much) which, had it lived, may very well have killed Hand of Justice. As it was, I was tabled, and managed to remove the scourge of a Tua ECM Slicer Tools Gozanti from the field for my efforts (you are welcome, future opponents of Dupy!).
    Final Result:
    GNIPS:
    Dead: ISD, VSD
Survivors: Gozanti, Howlrunner, Dengar, Soontir Fel, Ciena Ree

    Dupy:
    Dead: Tua Gozanti
    Survived: Everything else.

I am eliminated from the tournament (queue Vader choking me - Motti seems to have anticipated this defeat by clutching at his throat from the beginning).

Thanks for the opportunity to play such an interestingly structured tournament @Cael!

I'd have to go with option number one.   The raiders still offer solid aa fire.   And vader!
For option 2, the vt's don't seem the way to go.   Heavy doesn't protect your ships and the 3 blues aren't a huge anti ship threat.   For anti squad, you could swap those out for 2 aggressors and 2 ties.  Anti ship wise,  2 firesprays with bomber are a bigger threat,  imo, than two vt's.
    Otherwise,  very solid.

I'm partial to Jer Jerrod for MSU's.  A raider can flank and cut in hard for the attack run, or at speed 4 U turn to get outta dodge.    I find him a little more useful than ozzel.   I mean,  speed 4 with 6 clicks of yaw after a nav command.  Ship placement is so easy.
Darth Vader as a boarding team is essential.   Plug him onto a raider.   You lose the oe re rolls.   But, you roll in last, then first remove that critical upgrade from an enemy before unloading and running.
Bye bye admonition, now eat this apt/acm.  Bye yavaris.  Oh, goodbye Demo, goodluck killing anything.  Best 3 points ever.  5, if you include hondo for the anytime token so you don't waste a dial triggering Vader.

And it's over. Brobafett chose to go second so we played his fighter ambush. He was on the top of the screen and running his ships as a convoy right to left along the far back of the of the deployment area.

The first couple of rounds, not much happened as he kept traversing the top convoy style and the arquittans moved to fall in behind his conga line. His Pryce turn 2 came and went.
Turn 3 involved a slight overlap of a defender which was then moved close enough to be pounced on and destroyed. Mauler & black engaged and splashed some damage while his marek, and the remaining defender moved onto the nearby station for cover for a secondary strike after my squads hits the start of the next turn.
Turn 4, the quasar activated and killed mauler, black and plinked through the station to kill the plain defender. In exchange howlrunner, a generic tie and the interceptor were lost.
Turn 5, Quasar activating first again, saw the death of his Dengar and merek stele as the main ships orbited each other out of range as I slowly pursued him and Broba slowly drove away. Another generic tie died at the hands of jonus.
we called it at the end of 5, Jonus would have died but there was no point in playing it out. 97 - 43.
Thanks for the game Brobafett, he erred seriously in deployment, and I continue to fail my way upwards.

To the dust bin with this fleet!    Or, perhaps make em y wings instead of z's.  I'm sure a y wing swarm hasn't been tried before.

Dupy vs Ninja wraps up POD1!  (Otherwise known as the JJ POD)
Dupy took 1st and my Intel Sweep.  He setup his Liberty on the right flank, and I engaged it with my HHs.  Meanwile, my Cr90s were busy pestering Dodonna's Pelta barge which was slowly rolling in with the GR-75s.  Quantum storm slicer came in clutch IMO to stop the constant flow of Z95s.  The Zs were seriously hurt by Mothma.  When they got that lucky double I would evade it away.  In the end, I got the two flotilla and the Pelta on the last turn, along with a few Z95s.  Dupy got one of my HHs, and Shara, who heroically stood up to a bunch of fighters for a few rounds.  I ended up with the Intel as well.
    235-57 CNinja for an 8/3 178 MOV.
This POD was such a pleasure to play in.  @JJs Juggernaut, @mhd, and @Dupyare wonderful opponents ALWAYS!  Congrats to JJ, and MHD for moving on (Crush POD 8!)
Thank you so much for @BiggsIRLfor putting this together again this year.

    Ohhh man...
I loves me my little plastic spaceships.  However, at least for myself, one of the reasons I like little plastic spaceships is that when I was growing up, success in more "mainstream" (for lack of a better word) activities was difficult for me due to a lack of social acumen.  I wouldn't be surprised if some other gamers got their gaming start for similar reasons, including your tilter.  I don't know what to say other than I sympathize with you, but I also sympathize with this antagonistic person as well.  I once took my wife into a local gaming store so I could buy a bottle of paint: as I was chatting with one of the managers about the Armada scene she grabbed my arm and asked if we could leave.  She got creeped out by what she called the "greasiness" of the store and the patrons: something about the decrepit folding chairs/tables, the smell of nachos, unkempt hair, and one too many too tight t-shirts revealing a little too much detail for not-the-most-in-shape dudes... but inside I was thinking, "that's me too though!"
Speaking as someone who needed to "be helped"out of some pretty severe social anxiety, my main advice is that the level of confrontation you bring to a person should be proportional to the level of trust that person gives to you.  Otherwise, you're probably not going to be heard.  I wouldn't give up on this person, though- we all have our blind spots, we all have aspects of ourselves that we'd rather not have, and it's not so easy to get out of habits that may have been built up over years of practice (and in some cases, years of trauma).

    mhd vs. dupy
8-3 mhd, 182 MOV Solar Corona.
In what was mutually agreed on the most boring game of armada ever played, where a combined 22 (!) fighter units were destroyed, I bested @Dupy in the squadron battle extraordinaire with Valen Rudor and Cienne Ree the lone squadron survivors. The game was largely me kiting to the left and strafing his MC80 while massed squads beat themselves silly as the real engagement only started turn 3. Eventually, the MC80 committed to an attack run charging straight into the corona/kill box in a desperate bid to just end it already. We both fondly look forward to being tabled by Caribbeanninja so we can throw these fleets in the garbage.

    Objective: Contested Outpost
    Score: 340-142 (MoV 198)
Result: 8-3 Win for JJs Juggernaut

A good game to Dupy. This one was a fast and brutal fight as I tried to gain the advantage before his squads chipped me down. Dupy opted to use the station as bait to keep some of my forces away from the fight, which it did. Admo's only job was holding the station, which I was able to do for all 6 turns to give me the extra edge. The fight was pretty even, with my MC-75 narrowly avoiding death by Liberty. My Hammerhead was able to kill the Liberty, but later got finished off by squadrons. The Pelta was able to stay out of the fight and killed my CR90. Our flottillas traded rams, though I was able to get Quantum storm out of the fight alive. I killed a few squadrons with AA. Thank you to my opponent and good luck!
