  1. The main reason I ended up building a table instead of buying a table was cost. Also I've noticed that most dining room tables and even most gaming tables you can buy are too low since they're designed for sitting. So by building one I was able to build it so it's at a better height for standing.
  2. I considered building drawers into mine. To lower the overall cost I'll probably end up putting bins on the bottom shelf instead. Other options to consider would be whether you want a vaulted play surface or not. I decided not to so I can use the entire top surface for a game if I need to.
  3. I actually built a table recently. My parents replaced their garage last year and my dad saved a bunch of the wood from that, which went into the frame for the table. I only had to buy 2 sheets of mdf board and a sheet of hardboard for that top. In total it cost around 60 dollars. Even it I had needed to buy the wood for the frame, it still would have been maybe 200 tops.
  4. Silencer wing so far. Still not sure if I'm feeling this specific gold here. It's kind of a pain to work with.
  5. First Order test scheme. Not my best work but it gets the idea across. Might try a brighter gold though, not sure if the contrast is enough. Not quite sure about the solar panels either. Been having a hard time coming up with a color for those. Plus need to do the cockpit glass too.
  6. Test scheme done on the victory and the ISD I. I like how the scheme turned out. Execution could be better, but I need to redo the base coats anyway.
  7. Is this what airbrushed primer is supposed to look like? Specifically the slight grainy texture to it. (I realize that that isn't an armada ship, but pertains to my armada stuff) The last shot is what the primer looks like when painted, minus the fuzz that never got cleaned off the model.
  8. Looking back at the original announcement article, it looks like there are 3 titles and 2 superweapons. It also shows the other ship variant as well.
  9. Some more work on the ISD II. It's still a bit hard to get good pictures because of the lighting. The brighter copper is vallejo liquid copper. The darker is screaming bell. I think the liquid copper will look better if I can get it brighter for more contrast. Thoughts?
  10. Engines. Now that I look at this it looks like I need to do another pass with the airbrush. I see a few spots I missed.
  11. Just regular super glue. I can take a picture of the engines when I get home from work.
  12. Its interesting because the isd and vsd are the same color, it just depends on the lighting how bright it looks.
  13. A partial test of the rebel scheme I have in mind. This one is kinda sloppy since I'll probably end up redoing it now that I have an airbrush and I might go with a darker blue. I think I'm probably going to use the copper highlights as a way to connect my fleets.
  14. Going to just start sticking all my repaints here so I don't have threads all over the place.
  15. TIE Defender finished. Honestly this one is really hard to get good pictures with. It looks better in person as the camera doesn't really pick up the silver highlights well. Happy with how it turned out though. Might go back and clean up the silver a little.
  16. A pair of reverse action tweezers was really helpful for those. Still took a few tries to get them positioned right.
  17. ISD I mod WIP. Even got those ridiculously small trench turrets on there.
  18. I ended up finding a better metallic to use for the base coat, so I completely redid it. Here is a test of the color scheme I'm going for. Ended up not doing a wash since it was way too much work for the end result I got. It's a bit sloppy since I'm going to have to redo the model anyway since my varnish didn't go on right and made the base coat a little bubbly. Overall I like how the concept is coming out so far. I'll have to try it on my ISD since the varnish came out better. End goal is to do this on my SSD.
  19. Went ahead and did a full model test with the darker red. I'm going to let it fully dry before I decide to whether to give it another layer of red to darken it or not.
  20. Which one of these looks better? The lighter red and blue or the darker. One defender is going to get the red panels the other will get the blue. The third picture is the general color of the whole ship. Ignore the sorta pinkish purple panel, that one didn't turn out how I thought it would.
  21. I think it was the Ig-2000, e wing, attack shuttle, tie aggressor, and I can't remember the fifth. I do believe they mentioned that these five weren't present at worlds at all.
  22. Some more progress on the firespray. Not sure how I'm feeling about it so far.
