steveisbig got a reaction from flightmaster101 in Weakness Deck and Random Weaknesses
I like to blindly add the weakness to my deck. Adds some nice flavor when i attempt an important test, but find out that I'm Cut Off.

steveisbig reacted to MeeKey in Looking for Concept art/illustration of the 3 bosses (Villains Eriador pack)
On the Campaign’s “Select Difficulty” screen, the “Normal” option is a picture of Gulgotar. He’s got the same pose and detail as the miniature.
That is the only official artwork of the 3 bosses currently available.

steveisbig reacted to Sorastro in Sorastro's Painting
Hey folks!
I've created a PDF guide for the last hero - Beravor if anyone's interested, which means I've managed to tutorialise (new word!) the entire Core Set - hooray!
Onto the Villains of Eriador next...

steveisbig got a reaction from Sorastro in Sorastro's Painting
Yeah, definitely not physical wings. In the second part you quoted it's referencing the analogy in the first.
Edit: Also, some very important parts of the Silmarillion would be changed if the Balrog were winged.

I'm on the boat where the Balrog's wings aren't physical wings, rather the enmbodiment of shadow and fear emanating from it like wings.

steveisbig reacted to Draycos in 2 Core Sets for Clone Wars?
Well yes, but the chances that you will be running the full 6 corps units with only B1's or phase 1's once some other options come out seems a little slim. I think most people are looking to future expansions to fill out their lists.

steveisbig reacted to Darth 2Face in 2 Core Sets for Clone Wars?
I was initially going to go with two core sets, but have since decided not to. It is the most economical way to get into the game and still think it is best for new players, but it doesn't fit my needs. I went with two of the original core sets, so I have plenty of dice/tools already. However, I have found that as new sets were released, I use the units from the second core less and less. I won't be able to run an 800 point Clone/Separatist army quite as soon, but I would rather use that extra $100 on future units.
The core set may be the most economical, but it doesn't help if I end up not using those extra units.

steveisbig reacted to devin.pike.1989 in LE Obi, complete with high ground
All I can say is that you need to learn to live your own life and be happy. There will always be people who get to go on bigger vacations, ride first class, own the fancy car, eat at the fancier restaurant and wear the nicer clothing. You can spend your life in envy-fueled misery or you can move on.

steveisbig reacted to Thaeggan in I would pay for a voice over pack DLC
I'm no voice actor, I'm not all that great at reading aloud, and there is a bit of reading in this game. I mean, it is not a trilogy or the Silmarillion, but I always end up reading for the groups I play in and... it is tiring. Ya, I could try to pawn it off on someone else, but I would rather not do that to an unwilling group.
This game starts by setting the stage with a voice over, but nothing after that and because of that feels like the game is half baked on a narrative side until you get deep enough and forget all about that one instance of voice over narration.
It would be very nice if the game was narrated in every aspect that contains text, except for player choices.

steveisbig got a reaction from Jedirev in Drop pod expansion request. add profile cards for imperial R2 and protocol droids
I expect K2 and the probe droids were waiting on FFG getting better with the new plastic they're using for figures.

I don't think you're being released until 2nd quarter 2020, so let's be patient and not announce things too far in advance

Or. You could rejoice in someone else's good fortune and wait. It's not like they stole your minis to sell to these people.

steveisbig reacted to pixcalcis in Where is all news?
So the fact that they have content actively coming out for the game isn’t proof that they haven’t abandoned it? I mean they have detailed what’s in the figure pack, showed some of the few cards in it, and gave a rough outline on the campaign. They might release an article detailing more about the campaign.....but at most I would expect a short announcement when it releases. What other news do you want to see? They probably aren’t going to announce anything new until the campaign and figure pack are out. This will probably be during GenCon and there is a good chance a new expansion is announced during the convention as well.
This game isn’t like the lcgs or xwing where we get monthly releases or tons of different products dropping at once. So we aren’t going to get multitudes of news stories like for those games. We will probably get a big box expansion once a year. And then either a smaller expansion once a year or maybe some figure packs instead.

steveisbig reacted to That Blasted Samophlange in There it is Luke and Vader article
Honestly, I think that FFG has given us (consumers) a star wars game for nearly everyone. X-wing for fighter pilots (nearly perfected with the fan made aturi cluster, in my opinion), armada for the admiral wannabes. The RPG’s for those that fully want to tell their own stories, Imperial assault to have a more character driven skirmish style game and Legion to have full out tactical head to head with your army that suits your play, all in a simple and concise rule set that approximates combat.

We must not ignore the Ewok air superiority.

Or the Chiss come in with THEIR skywalkers - force users that are used by them to navigate the unknown regions. This navigation is, hence called skywalking.

This is not the case. They are all pretty much spot-on, except the landspeeder is a bit too big.

steveisbig got a reaction from Vector Strike in Grievous! (Also reveals from FFG Live)
Maybe his whirling blades just make him immune to ranged damage that round. Though it likely will just increase his cover.

steveisbig reacted to ScummyRebel in rebel veterns was spoiled
They roll white defense, and only have 3 health. They’re going to burn fast if used incorrectly, and certainly faster than an eweb.
I think it’s fine. I plan on using it with my pack of vets I’ll buy.

steveisbig reacted to Hannibal_pjv in ...and what about new heroes in future expansions?
Yep. Tom Bombadil, Elrond, Galadriel, Even Gandalf would be better as a part of adventure! Not player characters.
Much like one spesific Ranger allready is presented in one scenario allready!
that is how They Are handled in the Onering rpg (the best Lotr game around IMHO ) In that game those big characters Are your benefactors, quest givers, your patrons etc!
-
steveisbig reacted to Hannibal_pjv in Rules about Monster Components
Interesting. In those cases I would use only one figurine and a banner to present the whole croup. Or you can allways buy the second core 🤣

steveisbig reacted to MeeKey in Who said this game was easy...?! *warning* Spoilers and sorrow ahead.
Elite enemies DO become exhausted after they counterattack for the first time. However:
28.2 Elite enemy groups can counterattack heroes even if the enemy group is exhausted.

steveisbig reacted to FFG_Software in App crashes at end of chapter 1
Good News!
With the help of further email reports and forum posts, we were able to identify this elusive bug!
v1.0.4 is on it's way to each platform, and contains a hotfix specifically for this issue. This update will not disrupt any save files, and players should be able to pick up right where they left off and finish Chapter 1 without crashing.
