    So let me get this straight: you are able to judge how enjoyable the game is without playing it or seeing the complete ruleset, yet none of us are capable of doing the same?
    You can dismiss a game that you've never played as inferior to Imperial Assault and you can tell people to "just go back to playing X-Wing, yet we are the "gaming elitists"?
    No kidding. That's awesome that you enjoy the games you do, and I'm happy for you. It's just rather tiresome that you keep repeating over and over how Legion is not going to be a good game. You've told us a few times already.

    To be honest, this thread fulfilled its purpose long ago, and I don't know that I have anything else to say in it. If you want to talk about painting tips, wishlist and speculate about future expansions, discuss gameplay mechanics, or theory-craft possible lists and strategies, I look forward to talking with you more in another thread.

    I finally managed to finish my crashed AT-ST. My idea behind this terrain is that this was an AT-ST that was taken out by an Ewok Trap a long time ago, and they put some stormtrooper helmets on some sticks as a warning to the Empire.

    The minis will spend the vast majority of their lives on your shelf, so base/paint them so they look good there. Also, if you're making your own table then coordinate with that.

    Great advice here. 
    The one thing I'd add is to be aware of how often you need to finish something to keep interested.  One big thing that discourages people is when they focus on making each model as good as they possibly can, but doing so takes so long that they get bored/discouraged and never finish.  This gets worse if you have kids or other things that can scatter or interrupt your painting time.
    If it feels like you're having trouble finishing consistently, consider how long it takes to do each model and think about maybe scaling back how ambitious you're being.  If you do something which is maybe a little bit more tabletop-quality than showroom-quality, but it lets you get models done faster, you might find the stream of completed models builds your confidence and enjoyment level back up and gets you moving again.
    Likewise, as people have mentioned upthread, doing a big piece like a vehicle can be a really nice accomplishment, but it takes more time, so space out how you work through your collection, and don't be afraid to take a break and bang out something which you can finish more quickly, to help keep yourself going.
    Also, remember that you can always go back and fix something later.  When I'm doing a big army, I always end up with a few models at the start that end up looking a little different because my approach to painting the army evolves as I go and takes a bit before I settle into the way I want to do it going forward.  You can always go back and touch the first guys up, or strip and repaint if it comes to that.  
     
     
    +1, this is exactly what I did.  Also, when you switch to higher quality paints for your models, you'll still probably have a bunch of craft paint left that you can keep on using for terrain, where quantity is much more important than quality.

    Sounds like a lot of you guys are just saying that you want to play Legion without having to buy Legion. Not just at a casual level but also in official FFG tournaments and events, and that Legion's minis should be scaled with the Star Wars game that you already own instead of being its own game. Those are some seriously unrealistic expectations.

    Agreed. The Air Slider should look likes it's on air, not fog.

    Fuego de contención translates to "containment fire" or maybe "suppression fire" and says something along the lines of "after you make an attack, the defender receives a (????) token". I can't tell what the last word is, but I'm guessing it means a suppression token. 
    The Range 1-2 weapon is the grenade launcher and it looks like it has Blast.
    The Range 1-3 looks like the laser cannons and has Impact (antiblindaje)

    The Spanish site has the unpainted core set too, fyi. (also, the individual product pages have some other pictures, such as an Airspeeder height comparison).
    So how many of these upgrades are news to us? Just Wedge and the AT-ST weapons (which we knew about, but hadn't seen), I think.
    My Spanish is reeeaaally rusty, but it looks like Wedge reads:
    I'm really unsure about that word that kinda looks like "repulsor", since it doesn't match any of the text on the Airspeeder card, so I don't know how one would define what that means [ex, as if it said "speeders only", as the Airspeeder has the Speeder keyword]. Also, it's been years since Spanish class.
    But in other words, he's a five point upgrade that you can exhaust to turn on a dime.
    The middle weapon and other two cards are the same as the English spread. 
    The Mortar is, I'm guessing, Range 4 - unlimited? Three white dice, Fixed Front and "fuego de contención", followed by some blurry Spanish above my fluency level. I'm kinda guessing it does something to morale.
    The other weapon is range 1-2, Fixed [not visible; probably front, but possibly side?], and the other keyword is hidden but seems to be possibly the same keyword on the AT-RT flamethrower.

    I want the tank from Rogue One, AT-STs, Death Troopers.  Some sort of generic officer type character for both sides.  Personal annoyance at having a named character being at every little platoon/company level scrap

    Really hoping for some generic 'captains' or 'generals' . While special characters like Vader and Luke are popular with many, I always prefer to have an army led by a CO that I created myself.

    I am really curious about the pilot upgrades for the AT-ST and T-47. There is only one face-down pilot shown in each picture, but that does not guarantee that there will be only one in the final product. If there is only one, I would expect for it to be generic (e.g. Airspeeder Ace or Rogue Ace). If there are multiple, we have a number of unique options for T-47s:
    Zev Senesca Wedge Antilles "Hobbie" Klivian Luke Skywalker (not yet, unless we get another commander or two) There are fewer unique options for AT-ST pilots. However, it does raise an interesting possibility: can we have Commander cards that are also pilot upgrades? Can General Veers command the attack while piloting an AT-ST? That would go a long way toward making it possible for two AT-STs to fit within an 800 point list.

    Runewars doesn't exactly have waves, but if they follow the same release schedule, I'd expect the next new product announcement to be a Special Forces slot and a new Commander slot for each faction.
    Then again, "Commanders" are optional in Runewars.  They aren't in Legion.

    So we got this rule for the AT-ST, as well as I can read it this rule says "While defending, if the attacker's unit leader is inside your rear arc , the attack pool gains impact 3" In effect this causes up to 3 normal hits to cause damage despite the armor rule which normally only allows crits to do damage.
    This is a very elegant solution to different armor facings we know from other tabletop wargames where each facing of a vehicle usually has a different armor value (i.e. 14 front, 12 side, 10 rear) and I like it a lot. What I don't like is how the open topped Rebel walker doesn't have this rule  I mean the rider is exposed from all sides, it should have weak point 3: rear, side and front ^^
