  1. Why is there so much hate for Disney in this community? I know it's a bit off topic but I just don't understand. Do people not recognize that without Disney buying LFL we would not be getting new movies? Ol' Georgie boy was tired of making Star Wars stuff and the last 3 he made were subpar to put it nicely. Maybe you didn't like TFA(I did) or R1(loved it) but at least they are new stories about the universe we all love. Without the Mouse we would have nothing so I a happy they purchased LFL. I remember the vacuum of new stories in the 80's and 90's and don't want to go back to that. The new movies may not live up to your childhood memories of the OT but maybe that's because you are not a child anymore and won't even give it a chance.
  2. A guy at a recent tournament ran leebo with mangler title rage and inspiring recruit. He had Kannan on another ship to open leebo's dial. He did well overall and leebo worked built that way but I think he would have been better off just using Raging Chewie.
  3. I would not be surprised to see updates of crew cards in the near future. Eventually they are going to run out of crew to include and will start doing new versions of the recognizable characters. I have seen it in about ever other Star Wars game so why should X-wing be different. They could do General Leia Organa, General Han Solo, Master Luke Skywalker and General Lando just to name a few. You wouldn't be able to use them with the older versions that way but they could give them different abilities that reflect the characters changing roles.
  4. I don't think the attack of the swarmy ships needs to be increased. Look at OL he has 2 attack and can regularly get damage through on just about any ship. I think a mod something like his ability would be great. "Targeting something" when attacking if the defender rolls more defense dice than you rolled attack dice then the defense dice cannot be modified. You may not quip this upgrade if your attack value is above 2. 1 point. Doesn't work with Juke or crackshot but evens the odds of hitting because we all know you can't rely on unmodified defense dice.

  6. This only works if you're willing to allow 4 YT-1300's as they would be 25 points. And please make it limited, otherwise you can have a 23 point YT-1300. That wouldn't be a problem. It would turn the ORS into a K-wing without slam or any useable upgrade slots. That would not scare me at all.
  7. FFG customer service is top notch so I'm sure if you email them they will take care of you. I got a Striker with a deformed piece where the peg attaches to the model and they are sending a replacement.
  8. Well played bomber K-wings are a nightmare for Corran. In a tournament they can bomb Corran to death and run from Miranda until time is called. Triple Ks are a difficult list to play well and pretty boring if used correctly so you don't see it much.
  9. X/7 defenders are probably be the best Imperial ships to use because they are jousters instead of arc dodgers. I typically practice against Commonwealth Defenders(Ryaad, Vessery, Sheev mobile). The fact that they are so hard to damage makes up for any AI issues with them.
  10. My favorite ship to use currently is Rey with Expertise Finn Kannan and TFA title. I'm not really a fan of turrets but Rey does not really play like one and I still get to use the Falcon. My wish list for 2017: Scum Aces with small ship fixes Veterans of Scarif X-wing Y-wing pack with titles for both and more Y pilots with EPTs. Any expansion that helps small ships in general as it seems they are falling way behind large ships. Excluding Defenders.
  11. FFG just needs to errata the punisher pilots to swap boost for slam. It might not fix it all the way but it would go a long way towards making the punisher useable. Either that or a title that goes something like this-"At the start of the combat phase you may perform a SLAM action. You may not perform any more actions this turn." 0 points. Helps get out of bad situations and live to fight another day.
  12. I think you can but should you is the question. That is almost 40 points for a ship with very little attack power because you are using all the available upgrades just to turn around. Not worth it IMO.
  13. Wedge in an ARC with tail gunner would be fun. That rear arc would scare any ace!

  15. One of the strikers that I just purchased has a deformed connector so you cannot fit a peg in the model. I emailed FFG so hopefully they can take care of it.
  16. eBay is your friend! You can typically find reasonable prices on large collections of ships on there. If you are anything like me you will end up with everything sooner or later so you might as well save some money in the process.
  17. I really hope we see a T-85 eventually. After titles or something for the other two X-wings that give them unique roles. I would love to fly a 3 generations of X-wing list!!!
  18. Yeah that is what I was talking about in the first post. Kannan Jyn and Jan are about all the Rebel support crew. Jyn is not very effective on the U because of the arc issues and Kannan's ability overlaps with Cassian pilot. Once Rebels gets a few support oriented crew the U-wing could be an effective transport but until then it will have to be a blocker/gunship. Merry Christmas all you fellow east coasters out there!
  19. I thought that at first as well but good luck keeping things in arc while you have an action. Self bumping does work well with the U but it costs your action so no Jyn. I have mostly played it against Imperial small ships so maybe it will work better against other things. I did try Cassian with VI, FCS, gunner and Hotcop paired with a Rey Falcon and found it to be pretty good at burning through token stacks so Rey can bring the pain.Loving Expertise Rey with EU by the way. Expensive but pretty fun to play
  20. One of the mindlink players ships did a K-turn the following round so assigning the stress from the debris would have made that illegal as well. It ended up REALLY hurting the mindlink squad because he dodged 2 dengar attacks only to have those attacks erased.
  21. So in a recent regional I attended there was a mindlink squad that had a ship hit a debris and get a stress. The player didn't assign stress to the rest of his ships and the opponent did not catch it. About a full turn later the players realized their mistake and called a judge. The judge had them rewind the game back to when the ship hit the debris. They undid multiple moves and attacks in the process. This was an incorrect ruling right. Shouldn't you play the game as it is once the opportunity is that far past?
  22. That they do but not best in support of another ship. 95% of rebel crew only do something for the ship they are on.
  23. I have played a few games with the U-wing now and I wanted to see if my opinion of the ship matches everyone else's. So far I have found it to be very underwhelming and more difficult to fly than I imagined. For the underwhelming part I think that has more to due with the lack of rebel crew that can effect other ships. There is no rebel Sheev to make it work taking. The only thing it can do right now support wise is act as stress relief. This may change over time. As to it being difficult to fly, it is really hard to keep things in arc after the initial pass. The zero Kturn is difficult to use because you have to lower you agility knowing an opponent is going to get behind you and shoot while you are stuck pointed in the wrong direction. This should also get better over time as we learn the way this ship moves. So far my overall grade for the U-wing is incomplete. It should become better as more crew options become available. I wanted to add that in no way do I think the U-wing needs fixed. It just doesn't have a good role right now but that could change with just a couple crew options. I am looking forward to Operations Specialist to see what that does for it.
  24. My word of advice would be dump APL on manaroo in favor of mindlink for Fenn and Manaroo
