I actually stopped playing for a few months after the Jumpmaster came out because it was just a ludicrous combination of cost/functionality and everyone in there area used 2-3 in every list. Once the newness wore off and they went away I came back but that does not change the fact that JM5K's will probably get even stronger as new upgrades come out. -
Would Swarms make a comeback with something like this?

The issue with something like this is keeping track of who can fire and stopping just two ships feeding +4 attack to every other ship. The way you have it worded you can have 2 ships repeatedly add their attacks to every other ship in range 1. You could make it a condition to help with this but it would still get really confusing. I created a card like this a few months ago but it was just to much to keep track of. -
Can't really do that without hurting low agility ships more than high. The point is to try to make 2 attack matter against harder to hit targets. Plus the way I worded it evade tokens/C-3PO/Latts would be counted in with the defense total so they would not be as effective against 2 attack ships.

I would be fine with slapping range 1-2 on it. I am not sure it really needs it because it would be competing with a lot of very useful Mods but I guess you are right that they should have to work at least a little to get better shots. Oh and Omega Leader might be a problem with this but you could get around that with clever wording like force the defender to cancel a dice result of your choice. That way OL ability works against the upgrade instead of helping but then it gets kind of wordy and confusing.

Most of the other Opens are giving away the mats with the higher priced entry fees so I believe it's that but I'm not positive.

They need a generic mod just like Lightweight Frame but for offense. Precision lasers 1 point Mod. When attacking with a primary weapon , during the compair results step, if there are more defense dice than attack dice you may cancel one defense die. You may only equip if your primary weapon value is 2 or less. it would fix all 2 attack ships.

I think the game is in a really good place right now outside of a few corner case combos that may be slightly overpowered. I do not want to see the game go back to fly straight, shoot, K-turn repeat. Most of the criticism I have seen is that the older more recognizable ships are below the power curve but I am pretty sure the Devs know that as well. I trust that they will fix it in the near future. We just need to be a little patient and give them time to work. Not everything can be instantly fixed just because we want it to be.

What if the evade action just . . . wasn't a thing?

My issue with Evade is that some ships have access to it and some don't with no rhyme or reason why. The Ghost has the Evade action but an X-wing does not? Focus and Evade should have both been core actions that every ship can do. It would also free up room on some ships action bars so they could have had more than 4 action choices. -
It mostly comes down to personal preference between these two. Fel is better in close because he hits harder but Inq is better at range 3 because no range bonus dice or auto's for the defender. I believe most are picking Inqisitor theses days because he is a more consistent attacker(TL action) and comes in at a few less points.

Defenders without Palp will fold like any other high agility ship when the dice blank out. Only when combined do they become a super hard to kill monster.

Effective pricing on ordnance can very wildly by the ship that you are equipping them to. For single torp slot ships with a native 3 attack they are all over costed by around 2 points. Lower attack ships get more benefit so are over costed by about 1 point. Once Extra Munitions came out it fixed the pricing for ships with multiple ordnance slots but also ensured that ordnance would forever be over costed for ships with only one slot.

It happens to everyone now and then. I played the double arc and Biggs list in a tournament a few months back and rolled 16 straight blanks with Biggie on defense after positioning him at R3 with a rock in the way. Of course Biggs died first turn and I lost. Afterwards I threatened my green dice with a butane torch and they behaved the rest of the day. I even came back to make the cut.

As far as dice go if you want easily accessible special dice borrow the attack dice from armada. There are 3 different colors with different hit distributions on all. They have an extra symbol called accuracy but that could easily be given a special ability like getting to choose where the damage from the attack goes instead of where you rolled. You would have to adjust the number of green dice to compensate for the increased attack power offered by the double damage sides but not by to much. The real problem would be with the green dice having focus and none on the new attack dice but you could solve that by getting rid of the evade action entirely and make focus the defensive action.

I watched that game on the stream and as soon as I saw the Scum players strategy I was sure the Rebel K's would just make a bunch of passes shooting their turrets at the Z-95 at range 3 and out of the Gands range. I'm not sure why he didn't do that but it would have broken the fortress and left the K's with a huge advantage.

Why the Rey hate FGD? The designers found a way to make her arc actually matter so she is not the normal mindless PWT flying in circles. I hated using the Falcon before because it felt cheap but I LOVE Rey. I can count on one hand the number of out of arc shots I have taken with her.

For the movement issue I would look to something like Armada uses. One template that has various adjustment "knuckles" this allows for much more customization as to where the ship will end up. You could make the dials just have speed settings then each ship can have different values for each knuckle like Armada. It would take away some of the guessing while setting dials but reward higher PS pilots who would obviously have to cost much more than generics.

I loved that game so much! The text box on all the cards had some great obscure information. I was crushed when Decipher lost the license before even getting through all the movies. i forgot to mention this but great post!

For me my biggest pet peeve is hands down people on their phones while playing. I understand if you have to take a call quickly or return a text but don't do it the entire game! I shouldn't have to remind you to set your dials or that it's your turn to move just because you can't stay off snap chat.
