MaxXIII got a reaction from kaosoe in VTT tokens
So I finally managed to clean up some of the tokens I have been working on, so I am now making them available for everyone who is using Virtual Tabletop and wants some cool tokens. I would appreciate some feedback, and you can follow me on Instagram if you like my art stuff:

I've tried to scale the tokens in relation to each other, and I hope that size and filesize are OK.
I will be making more tokens in the future (I have b/w outlines for a few more waiting to get colored).

@ Desslok: Those drawings totally remind me of a cartoon artist, although I can´t quite put my finger on it...
It was someone from Mad magazine tho. Anyways, cool stuff

Here´s another one from me, Darth Sachmis:

Tried to give her a bit of an egypt theme (as is super obvious in the name), while still keeping in line with
    sith fashion rules.
She´s a Zygerrian Sith Lord, and her Master was scheming his own sith schemes at another edge of the galaxy whilst palpatine
was planning his takeover, each Sith completely unaware of the other.
She is going to be either an antagonist or an ally to my group, depending on how far they are willing to go to
save the rebellion...it is obvious that she is not to be trusted, but she is fighting the empire and has considerable power.
Also the Rebel Group that my party is with is less concerned with morals than Leia and her entourage (the campaign precedes Rogue One,
and I felt very reconfirmed when I watched the movie...)

I give out some XP plus sometimes relevant skills or talents per adventure bc I prefer it from an immersion point of view. (Eg if the players spend several days in the jungles of cholganna, I'd award them a rank in survival on top of the XP). I also award XP for playing the motivation and for failing stuff. (you learn from your mistakes logic).

Droids that aren't memory wiped now and then develop quirks and personalities. Tactical droids have a tendency for narcissism at the best of times. Though you are right that a separatist army during the clone wars wouldn't do that without explicit order I think

I love your work! I am going to create a beginner game (like the star wars ones) for it to introduce Genesys and dark heresy to my group! If you have a character I'd like to honor your work by including it as a pregen or NPC. I will be creating tokens for the beginner game, so you'd get a drawn token out of it.

Because according to the code you can't just hunt people. Which is why anyone with a Bounty on their head stops being people and becomes an acquisition. Now if you have enough XP for always get my mark on Nemesis you are propably a high profile Bounty Hunter. And if you start just kidnapping people then the Guild will be after you. And if you are not with the guild your contractor will be after you. The purpose of a Bounty Hunter over some cutthroat is that they follow rules and are legitimate. If you ignore these rules people stop trusting bounty hunters to adhere to their code.

    Also this is getting sidetracked.
If you want to play Bounty Hunters as a pack of scum and villainy, you are free to do so.
For me that's what marauders are for. In my games Bounty Hunters are ruthless but honor the code. If they don't they get excommunicated, John Wick style.
On the point of always get my mark being op or not, I'd say it's playable bc it says in the rules the player can't declare a mark or set the circumstances of the custody without GM approval. It also explicitly states that sometimes the GM will have to decline an NPC as a possible mark (but they should offer an alternative in such a case, like an underling holding a vital clue).

The Bounty Hunters Guild is a specific organization of bounty hunters, albeit a powerful one accredited by the Empire. Basically, if you aren't a member, you're not considered a "legal" bounty hunter under the current regime, but that doesn't stop you from taking jobs. It could just make things difficult when dealing with certain parties like the Empire, or maybe the client wants to hire someone whose identity isn't registered in any Imperial databases. There are benefits to belonging to the guild (members are able to access the Imperial law enforcement database for a fee, for example), but you're also shackled with a code of conduct that can be rather obtuse at times. So there are advantages and disadvantages that a GM could leverage when the party has bounty hunters

I assumed that's what in custody means. Except that to me it implies that the PC has a right to keep the NPC there. Otherwise it's just kidnapping. And you are right, the player should propably be allowed to use it if the NPC doesn't have a Bounty on them. But I would certainly make them pay for it bad as a GM. The Bounty Hunter just broke their code after all. It's not about the credits, it's about acting as a Bounty Hunter. You can still talk to and interrogate your mark before you turn them in.

MaxXIII got a reaction from DurosSpacer in Which other RPG’s do you play and what mechanics do you like from those games?
The Dnd Game 13th Age has a Combat mechanic called the Escalation die. It's basically just a d6 that starts at 1 on round 2 and increases by 1 every round after that. It is used to trigger abilities and spells, but it's main function is to give every PC a +1 to hit for every round after the first. This means that the pcs usually start a battle loosing, but will increase power over the course of it. It also stops combat from dragging on all too long due to bad dice rolls.
I have considered adding this to EotE, but with our narrative dice hit chance and damage are connected. Giving every combat roll an automatic success for every round of battle after the first sounds very strong.

Mhh if you want to let the PC use his ability on a big guy (after all he went through all the different tree lines for takedown and increase effect, so it seems important to him) you could "approve the nature of the new encounter" by having a little montage where you go around the table and every player gets to tell a little story how he helped put the mark in custody and make a skill check for it. Since the mark is already in custody failed  checks dont "fail" per se, but they make the current encounter worse. For example the mechanic failed the check to take out the underground bosses security system so you have him in cuffs, but you are stuck in his luxurious suite surrounded by his gang. It also makes the other players feel less useless.

If someone skills into this ability heavily its definitely worthwhile talking to them about why they want to be able to shortcut chases/bounty hunts like that.
After all they wanted to play a bounty hunter, and with this ability the overall focus of the game will most likely shift away from bounty hunting.
(This is easy to circumvent by not buying the nemesis upgrade to target the named supervillain...)

Also the ability always talks about a characters mark. You could restrict what a mark is (an NPC is a mark once a certain amount of research has gone into catching them etc., so the players will have to scout out the building, do the legwork.) It should definitely mean that there is a bounty approved by the bounty hunters guild on the targets head. So the story could be about framing the NPC instead to get that approval....Make it possible to use it on a Nemesis NPC, but also make it clear that the ability is much easier to use on a rival even with the upgrade bought.

I'd suggest to stick to one Ressource, because it is going to be far easier and it is how it was intended. Or if you feel up to it, let the players decide what they want (duty or obligation). You could have a duty to a cartel like black sun or hutts or one you create your self (maybe something more ambiguous and less "evil") . That means you aren't a freelancer in for the money, but a proper gang member looking to improve your position in the cartel and to increase its territory. Or you could have a duty to the Bounty Hunters Guild. Or maybe to a corporation.
