As entertaining as you two are, this is supposed a thread about X-wing, not the semantic hills you'd prefer to die on

M9-G8 + Weapons Engineer tend to be too expensive in both point cost and opportunity cost.
Take Shara for example. By the time you spend those 6 points to upgrade Shara, the better ARC-170 is just about any version of Norra. 28 points for Shara is too expensive as a baseline for a support ship.
The Sheathipede is cheap enough to strap with 6 points of support upgrades, but the opportunity cost is still pretty high. Fenn and AP-5 both have other builds that make excellent use of crew and astromech upgrades.
The other opportunity cost with M9-G8 is action economy. My favorite M9-G8 carriers either get free Target Locks (Tarn) or don't need their own Target Locks (Jess.) Tarn and Jess can't take Weapons Engineer, but their cost-benefit ratio is better than Shara.

Jank-wing is the X-wing played by scrubs (me) and filthy casuals (also me) who build lists around quirky card interractions for fun. One win with a jank list is worth a hundred WAAC victories. If you look back in this thread, you'll see my brief speculation on what a jank-wing tournament might look like.

I'd be down for a Wookiee atmospheric fighter (if that's what it is.) Open the door to the T-47, Cloud Car, Police Gunship and other great air speeders. The argument, "they can't go in space, so they don't belong in X-wing," ignores all the space ship battles that happen in atmosphere.

No obstacles or new obstacles for atmospheric battles?
Bombs don't always hover in space in Star Wars either, but they do in the game. Anyway, this game would be better without bombs regardless of elevation or gravity.

Before I get started with the focus of this thread, I want to lay some ground rules for responses.
    No NERF herding.
    No FAQ begging.
    No TLJ argument thread hijacking.
    No WAAC vs Scrub bile.
I think that covers the worst content of the forums in recent weeks.
Now, I want to know your answer to this question: If competitive X-wing were divided into formats based on archetypes, which format would you compete in?
In other words, which wing is your wing?
    A couple more ground rules:
    You can only choose one.
Please no arguments over, "my wing is better than your wing." This is kind of community market research.
If I missed your style, please add it.
    Examples:
Meta-wing (basically what exist now, no divisions.)
Ace-wing (Minimum 2 unique pilots, no turret primary weapons, no ordnance)
    Bomb-wing
    Turret-wing
    Swarm-wing (true swarms, ace + mini-swarm, Palp + mini-swarm, etc)
Thematic-wing (Events with a TO designated theme. OT, EU, etc.)
    Starwing (thanks @GrimmyV)
    Ordnance-wing (thanks @SabineKey)
    Jank-wing (thanks @gjnido)
    Epic-wing (thanks @Darth Meanie)
    Generic-Wing (thanks @Polaritie)

Xs are my second favorite squadron (right behind Bs, bit of a Yavaris junky). Have to echo everyone with ye ole Jan combo and Biggs makes things even more annoying by shunting damage to keep your squadrons around to lend their crucial dice
Imo BCC is basically a must, though. World of difference against ships
If you only toyrn, I'd actually go yt1300s (rerolls on EVERYTHING!) assuming you've accounted for their speed. More health, effective same dice as unsupported xs, 75% chance of antiship damage, and rerollable counter

Crack Shot is great, although I prefer Juke and x7. Apart from the obvious advantages of moving later and shooting sooner, having Vessery at the same PS as his target lock friend (Omega Leader in this case) helps with activation order.

This inspired me. Make it democratic. All the lists get posted before the event. There's a round of player approval. If your list isn't endorsed by at least half the competition, then it isn't jank enough. The list with the most endorsements gets a tournament point as an incentive to bring the jankiest jank jankable.

    Ugh... that's tough...

But I think it's safe to say that neither Harpoons, TLT or Sabine would be welcome...

But it is hard to come up with sensible limitations that don't defeat the purpose. I think it would have to be a self-moderating thing...
