    My HotAC group only breaks off the ship that left the formation. The rules and denizens of the internet might disagree. I don’t care, because to my group it makes sense that one ship might peel off while 2-3 others stay in formation. It also makes sense from the perspective of efficient gameplay. Resolving fewer individual AI’s smoothes the flow of the mission.

    He just needs to read the cards and do what they say.  Relevant parts bolded.
    After another friendly ship at range 1 becomes the defender, if you are inside the attacker's firing arc at range 1-3, the attacker receives 1 stress token.
    For the purpose of your actions and Upgrade cards, you may treat friendly ships at Range 2-3 as being at Range 1.
    The DTs have to be ON stridan, obviously, but otherwise nothing stops this working.  Why does he think it doesn't?

    I’m a Rebel Ace-Winger. Mobility and action economy are my core values. I would introduce these ships and have him pick the ones he likes.
    •Poe Dameron (41) - T-70 X-Wing
    Intensity (2), •BB-8 (2), Primed Thrusters (1), •Black One (1), Autothrusters (2)
    There are many good Poe variants. This one is the most focused on mobility.
    •Jake Farrell (32) - A-Wing
    Intensity (2), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1)
    •Jake Farrell (33) - A-Wing
    Push The Limit (3), Proton Rockets (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1)
    PtL is probably better than Intensity for Jake, but I like having the 1-turns available with Intensity. A friend of mine makes great use of Jake with PtL and Intensity (34points.)  Don’t forget you can save 5 points if  you have to by switching the missile to Chardaan Refit.

    Push The Limit (3), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), •Kanan Jarrus (3), •Outrider (5), Engine Upgrade (4)
    Super Dash + Ace is a Rebel staple. It’s never not good.
    •Norra Wexley (41) - ARC-170
    Push The Limit (3), •Kyle Katarn (3), •BB-8 (2), Alliance Overhaul (0), Engine Upgrade (4)
    Butterfly Norra. Effectively 4 actions per round. Mobile and deadly. Vulnerable to TLT.
    •Sabine Wren (31) - Attack Shuttle
    Push The Limit (3), Autoblaster Turret (2), •Kanan Jarrus (3), Targeting Computer (2)
    Block against higher PS, dodge lower PS. Drop the Targeting Computer to save points. Fits nicely in 3-ship lists.
    •Corran Horn (48) - E-Wing
    Push The Limit (3), •R2-D2 (4), Fire Control System (2), Engine Upgrade (4)
    I’m not a fan, but I put Corran here in the name of objectivity.

    Spinning: Use the straight template with the speed indicated by the maneuver dial. After you execute a maneuver with the Spinning Bearing, if your ship or maneuver template did not overlap an obstacle or enemy ship, assign the “That’s a Good Trick” condition to your ship.
    That’s A Good Trick: Increase your Agility by 3 until the end of the round. When attacking this round, change all blank results to crit results. Remove this condition at the end of the combat phase.

    Unless this game goes belly up anytime soon, the N-1 is inevitable. I’ll wait on the hope they do it justice. Too many releases are letdowns from what the fans want. (I’m still looking for K2-SO in a U-wing. How did they screw that up in a U-wing ace pack with the benefit of hindisght?)

    Cancel a die to take a shield. Spend focus to push the rest of the results. 
    Edit: I had Kath in there, but shields.

    Kestal has a Primary Weapon. It isn’t great, but against low agility targets with lots of shields (Rebels) it would be a good enough.
    I like the idea of multiple aces with the option to Optimize the right one for your matchup. Kestal is in the right point range and normally not enough of a threat to draw focused fire right out the gate.

    I don’t like munitions, and I’ve been looking for a card to make Tomax more of a pocket ace. I think this might be it.
