I expect I'll use BGG's forums for most of my other FFG games and I'll likely look there for info on this game as well.  Facebook and Reddit feel more like hybrid blog sites / chat rooms and Discord is just a chat room.  I prefer the classic online forum to those formats.

Facebook groups (and really any site that blocks read access to people with accounts only) are never a good replacement for things like forums. Though Facebook in particular is extra bad in that regard.

No one will probably see me again, I just don't appear much outside of forums. I didn't post much, but I'll still miss everyone else.
It seems the internet as a whole has decided that forums are objectively obsolete, but it's not true at all. Even with overlapping ideas popping up over the years, there's still a niche, especially for official forums. Fan-run options, ironically, split the fanbase by forcing them to choose which fan option, and so many other things these days (even some forums, unfortunately) have begun to prioritize popularity over chronology, which inevitably leads to pretty serious echo chambers (and forums used to be known for that, but that's nothing compared to today).
In my experience, official forums generally had the best mix of being hands-on enough to moderate legitimately offensive content, but hands-off enough to let fans have differing opinions without being banned for being "wrong", even if the community wasn't friendly. Also, they were a guaranteed centralized place you could always find, even if you were new to the fandom, without having to guess the fan chosen alternative.

Sad news. As gaming forums go, this was overall very nice, helpful, entertaining and educational. I jumped ship on Xwing after a few days of reading some threads on gameplay, batreps, squad building and such.
I find it surprising that Asmodee just throws away the forums and it's users. Many companies would love to create a community like this around their products. It was very easy for AMG to pick up the forums, clean up a bit and build from there.
Thank you everyone who was nice and helpful.

Hey I love Katarn as well... but he had trouble dealing with one phase 3 darktrooper, back in the day.  It was an end boss.
Also, you have to establish the character - now while, if The Mandalorian is the very first  Star Wars you have ever seen, this doesn't hold weight, but since you know Kyle Katarn, that point is moot.   As a story point it doesn't make sense.     Besides, maybe he was off destroying the Arc Hammer?
How is it any different to pledging allegiance to a piece of cloth?   Or the whole concept of right to rule based on bloodline?

I agree that it would make sense for the dual sided cards to not affect list building, but there is nothing in the Rules that states that.
Though since last I checked, all upgrades that add actions were not affecting squad building in the official squadbuilder.  That is a very significant change to the rules with no corroborating update to the rules reference, which makes a bug a very likely cause.

That is to say, if one had Aayla Secura equipped with Brilliant Evasion, and she had one active Force, and were fired upon, and rolled eye/eye/eye on defense, she could modify one eye to an evade with her Force charge, use Yoda to regenerate it, then use the Force to flip the other two eyes to evades as well with Brilliant Evasion, since it is not the default effect.

It half worked in the old app, it would work if you equipped S-Foils (closed) but not if you equipped S-Foils (open), due to a terrible design  choice to treat double-sided upgrades as different upgrades.  Since there has never been any mention of how double sided cards affect list building in the rules reference, most people believe that you can equip Daredevil with S-Foils and FFG has never contradicted that belief.
I'm curious to see what the new app will allow when the upgrade support is fixed.

Both modify the dice after the dice are rolled and before the Modify Dice step.
From the Rules Reference under card clarifications:
C-3PO - "Q: How does Han Solo [Rebel, Modified YT-1300]'s ability interact with C-3PO [Rebel, Crew]?

A: The "if you do and you roll exactly that many evade results..." portion of C-3PO's ability triggers occurs after the dice are rolled, before the Modify Dice step. Thus, Han Solo's effect occurs after C-3PO's effect has been resolved. If using Han Solo after using C-3PO, the added die must be rerolled."
Count Dooku - "Q: When does Count Dooku (W)'s ability take effect?

A: Count Dooku's ability takes effect after the dice are rolled (before the Modify Dice step during an attack, or before other dice modification effects are applied for dice rolled at any other time)."

Alive and kicking! Excited about the new releases.
The new FFG App now only contains artwork (the image on the top 1/3 of the cards) and not the full card image. But I've been chronicling all the card image links from FFG's release articles, so for now we are ok.
We will see what the FFG/AMG transition brings...

I like YASB most because of the speed of use.  I can start theory crafting in multiple factions with out having to login or create a list.
I really like the new app and that is probably my preference (or will be when they fix the bugs) for mobile use.  I do wish that the upgrade names were visible in the condensed view, and that the add ship window used drop downs for ships.

joeshmoe554 reacted to emeraldbeacon in Major Rhymer and attacking at R0 with new RR
I just appreciate that it took a BISS ruling ("because we said so") to finally close the book on Rhymer.  For people like me who who don't like implied abilities, Rhymer became a sticking point for the discrepancies between strict RAW interpretations of the rules, and a more nuanced RAI approach.  As I look at the latest rules update, I personally think Rhymer only properly functions because of the FAQ entry, not his own card text... and I fully understand others disagree with that rules interpretation, and that's fine.  At least we have an official answer, now.
Regardless... no matter whether one believes that he always worked, or that he had to be fixed, we can all agree now that he does indeed function as intended all along.
