    So they "only" need:
    - more aces (where is a decent IN5 ace or two of them?)
    - decent mods
    - slight reduction in costs for SD, Hull Upgrade and Shield Upgrade
     
    Seems like they are not really that great at all.
    Soontir is not a real ace anymore. If I arcdodge with him I have nothing in arc 50% of the time. If I attack and want to stay alive I have to attack mostly without mods.
    Turr would be ok - if his INI didnt suck. 4 is such a awkward spot for a agile ace like the Interceptor. He cant arcdodge in the activation phase and against nearly REAL ace his ability is useless. If he already boosted or barrel rolled his ability is useless. I really want him to be good. But I feel he will die even faster then Soontir.
    The non-unique pilots are ok. But I don´t like playing nameless nobodies. But thats just a personal preference.

    i flew Soontir in 90% if lists i played for 3 years before i stopped playing last year, i don't need anyone to tell me how to fly him or what he is capable off. I can look at Wedge who costs the same and has 75% of the same actions but double the health and a much easier ability to triggerand  be quite confident in my statement that he sucks

    Naked Fel or Fel with Predator. The mods he likes are way too expensive for a three Hull ship that relies on green dice. Keep him cheap.

    considering the nerfs to the intercepter's greens I doubt it
    FFG Designer #1: the game isnt about dogfighting anymore, we should bring it back
    FFG Designer #2: but what about arcdodgers? they *Might* dominate the meta
    FFG Designer #1: lets nerf their green mods into the ground, their called arc-dodgers after all, we did buff their maneuverability. if they have any experiance (played since early 1.0) they'll never (somtimes) get shot at. also lets make a card (Luke) that is a hard counter, and lets take away all of their mid tier aces so that they cant build an ace list with 3 aces!
    FFG Designer #2:  Brilliant! now if the evil empire wants to play they have to buy multiple conversion kits to play swarms
    FFG Designer #1: speaking of which, we should keep all of the heroic rebels 4 red dice attacks and make it so that the evade token that only the evil empire uses can no longer be used to potentaly (with 3 lucky evade dice which are already worse than reds) block a 4 hit attack
    FFG Designer #2: And lets take the TIE Phantom's 4 dice attack (the Empire's only 4 red) and give it to the outrider and give it a dual arc turret

    ahh that's the difference, I did like running 3 aces so hard counters hit harder and are less avoidable, for me the thrill was "ok, they did that what can I do to NOT DIE and would put me in a better position" and in 2.0 all the interceptors are int 4 or lower except soontir and fat turrets have me running out of ideas except "Run away" which is no fun for anyone. I agree that Interceptors can be good when supported by other ships but alone they can no longer teach the rebels what a real ace squadron looks like. which with the interceptor as the ace platform of choice for the empire was something I thought 2.0 would keep, seems I was mistaken
    yes that 3-sloop does look fun, although it takes away ALL your actions so it's not much better than the 3k it had before
    I can only hope that the Interceptor pack when it finally does arrive (has anyone heard anything other than someday?) will give soontir an ace buddy to fly with

    Add on top that there simply are fewer choices for I6 pilots.
    One scenario is that they will be very common. This erases the need for bids below I6 for most cases. Another scenario are rare I6 aces. Then the bidding war could move mostly to I5. The occasional I6 would still have to take a small bid, but much smaller.

    Problem was never shooting aces if you had less pilot skill, it was putting damage through. Without autothrusters, palp weaker, and evade nerf, I dont see aces as that safe you just cant seem to crack. Get multiple arcs out there, they take 1 or 2 shots and plink away at them.

    We get phase one arc troopers (or even just phase one Rex, I can work with just that), Kal skirata is going to be flying across the battlefield with Ordo and his brothers.

    So I think adding more than one upgrade to such a small chassis is usually a mistake (Soontir might be the exception there). If we see some cheaper mods down the road, that thinking my change. For now, though, I say in most cases you might want to put a talent on and nothing else. If you've got spare points after filling out the rest of your list, maybe throw a mod on there.
    Afterburners, hull/shield upgrade, maybe stealth seem to be good mod choices but all of them feel too expensive. Afterburners does offer up some maneuverability on turns where you're already stressed and don't want to do a green or turns where you're going to k-turn.
    Also, a mistake I've seen a lot of players run into in 1st and I imagine will live on into 2nd- Don't use Autothrusters just because you can, use it because you know it will give you an advantage.
    Also, are Fangs maybe just entirely better than squints? Yes, squints can double-reposition but you'll often prefer focus into reposition.
     
    I'm really curious to see how Turr Phenir plays out in 2nd. I've always enjoyed playing him but without VI he seems less good.

    I think a zero/low cost EPT that reduces your pilots initiative to match a squadmate during set-up should exist. 1/0 if it is fixed, perhaps 2/1 if it can be discarded at the end of a round.
