Still think you should just run 5 with trick shot.
Or stop complaining about 1 point. You werent going to win with 5 with crackshot anyways(see defenders and Dengaroo). Palp defenders are still OP and would easily murderate 1 before it shoots. So people would just run palp aces anyways. Best hope is that the high ps pilots are good enough for pocket ace duty
Not sure, those things are literally unpredictable. Thing that people still don't get it
Unpredictable: Move the wings so it looks like your aileroning left, then aileron to the right. ROFL

How about this list:
"The Biggs Fortress"
Blue Pathfinder (30)
-FCS
-Hera
-Ezra
-Tactical Jammer
-Title
Biggs (29)
-R2D2
-IA
Kyle Katarn (40)
-TLT
-RecSpec
-EU
-Title
-Predator
The U-wing fortresses in the corner with Biggs behind him, constantly doing 1 Green forwards. Kyle passes Biggs a Focus for defense and kind of swims around in front like a shark, using Boost as needed to stay nearby, or to avoid arcs later in the Fight. Both Kyle and the Pathfinder have pretty full mods for attack.
I like it. Rather than fly around in circles like a shark I would just turn Kyle into the middle of the U-wing on turn 1 or 2. Now all of your ships are standing still and now you can ditch EU and upgrade the Blue Pathfinder to Cassian Andor. Now you can equipped the wonderful Wired on your U-wing.

U-wing
-Wingspan!
-Movable Wings!
-Pretty!
-Competitive?

-
Sad Panda!
x4 Black Squadron Scout
-LF
-Crackshot
-Adaptive ailerons
92 points.....
Super awkward price point. Really wanted to add a tie fighter to the mix to throw some early blocks

I am getting close to completing my X-Wing collection. It is kind of scary how much I have spent on plastic crack (roughly $30-40 a pay check). Next pay check is going to be the big ones, I am finally giving in and purchasing the CR-90 and the Raider. Another Kihraxsdjkhf and the next wave and I have everything I need (ok want, but it is an addiction so it is a need). You win FFG, you win.
Maybe I can use another YT-2400 ... Ha!
Enjoy! I've yet to break down and buy epics, but I'm so close to owning at least one of all the ships. I know as soon as that happens epics will find a way to invade my bank account.

Ok, this is good therapy. Head of to the Destiny forum, realize those guys are paying 50 bucks for a Darth Vador card with die, laugh, and then get the hell out of there before you become one of them.
Lol. I hear ya. I love star wars but that game just does not look appealing to me

What about this way to run 5. P.S. I love the Swarm Leader EPT: "Pure Sabacc" (22)Swarm Leader (3)Lightweight Frame (2)Adaptive Ailerons (0)Imperial Trainee (17)Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)Adaptive Ailerons (0)Imperial Trainee (17)Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)Adaptive Ailerons (0)Imperial Trainee (17)Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)Adaptive Ailerons (0)Imperial Trainee (17)Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)Adaptive Ailerons (0)Total: 99View in Yet Another Squad Builder
That would be a lot of fun. Just might be hard to get several ships in arc of the same ship due to the low ps
-
I have 5 on the way, so I'm defo going to run a combo of 5 of them now and again.
I appreciate your vote of confidence but I should maybe take it with a grain of salt considering you own 6 rebel Zs and 6 interceptors
-
I agree duchess should have the LF. I just wrote it that way for simplicity. While I agree sabaac is a good ship, I really want a ps10 so I can get the slippery ships in arc. Without that ps 10 I feel I will never get the soontirs and EU vaders in arc
-
Please talk me out of this list as I don't want to pay for 5 Strikers.
100 Points
x 4 - Imperial Trainee (17)
-Lightweight Frame (2)
-Adaptive Ailerons (0)
Duchess (23)
-Veteran Instincts (1)
-Adaptive Ailerons (0)
Flank with the duchess and use adaptive ailerons and barrel rolls to not get shot. Fly the 4 trainees in formation. They will die, but hopefully alierons will make them somewhat unpredictable.
This seems very fun to fly. I'm aware some lists will eat it this alive. Any thoughts?

See it actually kinda bugs me that no one around me plays a list like this, because I've always really wanted to try my hand against it. Closest I came was an HLC B-Wing, Biggs, and two TLT ships. I want to see how Brath Salts plays against it.It sounds crazy but 4-TLT spam might be fun again......
Someone used some sort of sorcery to cram all those into a 100 point list...
You can do it with 98
forgot about the existence of the HWK

Its possible if for the 2 TLT ships you have a Rebel Operative HWK-290 and Gold Squadron Y-Wing, but still...
Honestly it's been so long since that match (late spring or early summer) it may have been only one TLT Y-Wing. All I remember is that I won the fight, Brath v. B-Wing to close it out. But it was close. I had to play a lot of range game and dodging with the B-Wing.
Oops. My bad it is possible with a HWK or HWKs. I always forget about the HWK. The only non-epic ship I don't own.

In case you guys are wondering if the photo posted is legit, it is, cause I'm the guy who took it. I gave permission to a friend of mine to post it on the UK facebook group and now its here on the FFG forums. Here's the rest of the photos I took:-

She sure is pretty! Looks a little silly on a large base tho. Gameplay wise I see why they made it a large base. Loving the wingspans of all those ships.

Definitely want to second the idea that the X-Wing sucking is silly. Of the four core ships, it's easily the most adaptable, survivable and well-balanced. 3 primary attack, second best dial. The TLT Y-Wing is a good beginner ship with a fairly flat difficulty curve, but it's an experience aggregator, not really a ship-killer. The X-Wing's EPT combos can be awesome. Think I ran my last one with Predator, Sabine and Outmaneuver, mated to R2 and Engine Upgrade. Free actions! Boosts and barrel rolls ahead of K-Turns! Everything 1 and 2 is green! It's like being a steroidal A-Wing.
A-Wings are just Hard Mode for expert players, or people who just insist on be A-Wings. Their damage output is miserable outside of Procket Alphas you can do potentially twice. Everything you do with A-Wings in the head to head game isn't nearly as valuable, or significantly more dangerous, in HotAC. And, by the core rules, you pay a ridiculous tax on them too, since you Pay 5 points, then you lose any points spent on Torpedoes, Engine Upgrades, or Astromechs. It can literally cost 17 points for the privilege of being a 2 Hull, 2 Attack mosquito, lol. Poor A-Wing, being Wave 2 and thus not having the System or Tech upgrades it should be allowed. Also poor A-Wing being font-limited to 4 actions, and thus not getting the Barrel Roll that it should have.
I mean, I play A-Wings because they amuse me (I've gotten through 9 turns before even getting fired upon, let alone hit). But they're absolutely inferior to X-Wings in HotAC since so much of HotAC is reliant on damage output as opposed to just survival or blocking.
My apologies. I'm probably wrong. I'm just speaking from my experience. I had a horrible time with the xwing. Kept dying and not getting much xp. Meanwhile my TLT buddy was dominating. But once I upgraded to an A wing with prockets things magically turned around. I think the fact that you only have one ship in the match arc dodging and good dials are more important than jousting with the xwing. Just my 2 cents
-
A couple things I noticed after playing HOTAC:
1. After my wingman got bored of using the TLT Y-Wing, we decided to let him upgrade to an ARC-170. I think it fits in the campaign well but in my opinion it should cost 5 points more than the B-wing upgrade Since you add a rear arc, crew, astro mech, and a better dial. Meanwhile you are only losing a canon slot & system slot.
2. Holy crap! When you have invested a ton of time into this campaign and you manage to have your ship destroyed in hostile territory...prepare for the stressful eject roll to see if your pilot dies. That is some scary stuff. My wingman and I were lucky enough to have never died but man were we close.
3. As others mentioned. Predator is a dynamite investment.
4. Ditch the T-65 X-wing when you can. Anything else is a better choice except maybe a hawk lol
5. Personally I had a lot of fun with the A-wing: Prockets + Extra Munitions + PTL + Stealth Device + Predator + AutoThrusters + Crackshot + Wired = Lots of fast fun!
6. Use a pencil!
7. Create a mission tree page (1-1, 1-2, 1-3), (2-1, 2-2, 2-3), (3-1, 3-2) ect. and put a checkmark on missions you have completed and an x on missions you have failed. It makes it easier to navigate the mission trees and understand what you have completed and what missions you have never tried.
8. Props to the creator! Fantastic!
9. Hope. Rebellions are built on Hope! Save the rebellion! Save the Dream!

I posted this list in topic with TIE-striker preview.
(99)
Jess Pava (30) - T-70 X-Wing
R2-D6 (1), Primed Thrusters (1), Integrated Astromech (0), Swarm Leader (3)
Green Squadron Pilot (23) - A-Wing
Snap Shot (2), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2)
Green Squadron Pilot (23) - A-Wing
Snap Shot (2), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2)
Green Squadron Pilot (23) - A-Wing
Snap Shot (2), Chardaan Refit (-2), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Juke (2)
I tried to make squadron where evade tokens are most useful.
So you are using them with juke (2 times each if you are lucky) and then Jess discards two of them firing after A-wings.
Also she has 3 rerolls for her 5-6 dice attack. Even more she has up to 3 rerolls on her defence rolls, so opponent has hard choice of targets.
You free to replace Primed Thrusters with Pattern Analyzer or Autothrusters. Or even change Snapshots with PtL (discarding Autothrusters from one of A-wings).
This looks like a lot of fun. The only hard thing will be making sure Jess gets someone in arc every turn, which can be tough at ps3 and no turret.

If you bump while doing the 1 bank or 1 straight do you still get to move and get an action?

I only buy one of every ship. I have no doubles.
Me as well. I think that will change. I really want to fly 5 strikers.

5 Strikers - 100 Points:
[26] - Duchess (23): VI(1), Lightened Frame (2), Adaptive Ailerons (0)
[57] - Imperial Trainee (17) x 3: Lightened Frame (2), Adaptive Ailerons(0)
[17] - Imperial Trainee (17) : Adaptive Ailerons(0)
Flying a swarm of 4 strikers with adaptive ailerons will be a ton of fun. Plus a super maneuverable PS 10 ace. Can't wait.
FFG you sure know how to make money. Do me a solid and sell me a 5-for-4-Pack...

OP, I have a similar situation to you if not worse.
My band of RPG brothers live in my hometown, where FFG's presence is completely nonexistent. What I would do for them is bring all my ships, offer a selection of highly competitively lists and introduce the mechanics of each squadron. Let them choose one that interests them most (don't let them build their own squad yet) and play against the list using a sub-competitive list. You can guarantee a very fun game regardless of who is winning and raise their interest at the same time. It also provides a good challenge for your own practice.
I'm against the idea of X vs Y points where X < Y. if they win, the handicap doesn't make them feel good. Even worse if they lose. Rather, what you should do is to give leniency and drop the missed opportunity ruling for your friends (not you, you are liable for your mistakes
)I play with my girlfriend and generally give her 20 more points than myself. The key is that she doesn't know this
-
I would start out with:
-1 original core
-1 Force awakens core
-A-wing
-TIE Advanced
-1 ffg playmat
Will be very balanced between rebels and imperials. I highly recommend a mat. They are awesome and make the game that much more fun and immersive.
