  1. He is? Cool, a newcanon book that might actually be worth reading.
  2. "Star Wars has had a checkered relationship with comics ever since some guy at Marvel ..." Disney gave the franchise to their comic division which just happens to be Marvel (you know, the same place that gave Star Wars the giant space bunnies in the first place), so I'm less optimistic about the continuing quality (or lack therof) of the comics.
  3. I did my damndest to ruin Christmas once already, and FFG saved it. Would you have been happier for me not to, and have FFG not have to act in delivering on time? ... and yet how it worked out is the perfect plot for "How Dras Stole Christmas"
  4. Mine would be along the lines of: Self Destruct Defensive Retrofit Modification If equipped ship has half or less of its original hull value remaining, discard this card and remove equipped ship from the play area to deal damage to an enemy ship at distance 1-2 equal to the remaining hull value of removed ship. 10
  5. Question with Salvage Run and GSR. The objective tokens go down before GSR can be activated, correct? Or is there an opportunity to activate the GSR to fling the station my way before placing the objective tokens? On first read, I thought there was but now I don't think so. Anyone know for sure?
  6. Sad thing is, I'm considering a third to add [suppression - G7 - Phylon Tractor] for campaign play to be "that guy".
  7. I understand where you are coming from on the squadron superiority and flagship suggestions and they are things I agree with for tournament play at a level above and beyond the Store Championship level. However, as intended, this is borderline Store Champs at best and I make no claims otherwise; I like to take a break from tournament lists and run oddball lists like this on occasion. I read through Station assault and that looks really fun, especially when deploying the stations so player 1 has to start at speed 0 or run an obstacle course for two or three turns to get there. Would Salvage Run be worth looking at? GSR the obstacles to send the station your way and then put out the objective tokens, or am I understanding that wrong? Otherwise I'll go with Dangerous Territory.
  8. Isn't the engine compartment the wrong shape for a Neb-B?
  9. Agreed. Probably had something to do with how long it takes for a tryptophan coma from the turducken to wear off ...
  10. As a Wisconsinite, I'm curious which district that was taught in. Not saying it's wrong or anything, just wondering. I remember being taught a feel good story more along the lines of President Lincoln instituting 'Murica Thanksgiving as a national holiday after the end of the civil war to help the recently divided country begin the healing process. It was in Green Bay. I distinctly remember learning about Pilgrims and Native Americans in 2nd grade and how the Natives helped feed and shelter the Pilgrims from Plymouth Rock. Not saying any of this is fact, simply what was taught in school. Ah. That's probably why I remember something different, it was grade school curriculum. I don't really remember much from before my freshman year in high school and some of the instructors at my high school had a reputation for being a bit "quirky" with their lesson plans. So that's probably where the difference comes from.
  11. Working on a casual list and I need some help picking objectives. Any suggestions? Faction: Empire Points: 400/400 Admiral: Screed Objectives - ?/ Contested Outpost / ? [Flagship] Interdictor Suppression - Screed - Grav Shift Reroute - G7 Interdictor Suppression - Interdictor - G8 - G7 Glad 1 - Demo - APT - Engine Techs Rhymer Bomber x2 Firespray Fett IG88
  12. The beer is yellow because it's made from piss. At least that's what my grandpa always said hahaha Beer is piss, and taste like piss. A glass of whiskey is all an American needs for a drink lol So that's the secret ingredient! Beer vs Bucket of Donkey Piss, which one wins the blind taste test?

  14. [...] Regret to inform: atheism is a man made religion. To return to the OP, thanks for pointing that out about the Arquitens. I don't follow the TV shows like many around here do. Regret to inform: Atheism does not fit the definition of a religion. And no, not believing in scientifically unprovable things does not constitute a dogma, similar to not playing a boardgame does not count as a hobby. I agree however that some atheists might compete with religious fervor when it comes to their beliefs. Regret to inform: Yes it does. It takes the principles of [insert belief system here] and chooses to believe that the belief system is incorrect using the same data that the belief system's adherents use in their choice to believe. I think you may be confusing it with practical unbelief which more closely fits what you are describing. As to your analogy, you'd be surprised how many people make a hobby of avoiding things . As to scientifically unprovable, why is it that whenever science tries to disprove God it only strengthens the case that God exists? (I'm referencing the Judeo-Christian God) This would be an interesting conversation to continue a respectful debate on over beverages of choice sometime. I'll bow out of the side topic from here so we can get back to talking about plastic spaceships.
  15. Man made religion IS a fairy tale, god may or may not exist, I do not have an opinion on it either way, and if someone chooses to believe there is a god, and they want to worship it, that is fine and dandy with me, if it gives you peace and a sense of purpose, fantastic, the universe is a big lonely place, and human life is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things, so I can accept the reasoning that leads people into the concept of an all powerful being that will look after you for eternity if you are a good person, and for others to buy into it. But man made religion is not about worshiping god, it is about control, money and power, you do not need some other human being to tell you how to worship your chosen god, you do not need another human being to tell you what you can or cannot do, if you are a good person, YOU are a good person, and surely this all powerful and all knowing super entity can see this. Telling others that the word "god" being used is offensive, is not the actions of A : a good person, B : a person strong in his beliefs, the word "god" existed for a long, long, long time before Christianity came along and high jacked it all, I mean do you really think that this super entity that has the power to create the universe we live inside of, cares if you drink coffee or not? or that you swear or not?, that you will spend eternity in the fires of hell for having sex before marriage? really??? eternal damnation for having sex before you say some words to a priest? human religion is the ultimate conceit. If you believe, great but don't judge others, don't force others, do not indoctrinate others, a feat beyond all man made religions. Regret to inform: atheism is a man made religion. To return to the OP, thanks for pointing that out about the Arquitens. I don't follow the TV shows like many around here do.
  16. Same here. Still have one set up (HO scale) and recently joined a club, actually. Other random games came later. Then I got into Flames of War. Most recently got into Armada, 'cause Star Wars, and painting wasn't mandatory.
  17. Talk about a dilemma ... I'm up for either, but my vote would be for TundraCon.
  18. I'll gladly make the cross state road trip for this. tgall: thanks for setting this up FoW Matt
  19. As one of the other players at the event: - The way we played it Player 1 moved his tokens then Player 2 moved his. - Only enemy - No real preference - Tallied up enemy ships destroyed, then added points for the scenario. IIRC. HTH
