  1. Thanks for the input guys! Definitely gave me some food for thought on constructing lists. Now how big is the actual tournament scene for IA? I already know that there are no tournaments in Alaska to my knowledge lol.
  2. I finally took the dive into buying some Imperial Assault stuff for myself after playing a bit of the campaign and now I'm looking into entering the skirmish scene. I'm looking for general squad building tips like what are the key things to build a squad around. I'm looking to focus on imperial if that changes anything. Thanks for any and all tips.
  3. Unfortunately one of my Epic Ship stands has disappeared. Is there anyone that makes replacement stands for epic ships?
  4. To tag another question onto this post, does anyone make acrylic range 1-5 rulers or is the epic community OK with simply combining a range 1-3 with a 1-2 ruler?
  5. My buddy and I flew this list yesterday at the AK regionals: Upsilon-class Shuttle: · Major Stridan (32) Collision Detector (0) Systems officer (2) · General Hux (5) TIE Phantom: · "Echo" (30) Veteran Instincts (1) Fire Control System (2) Advanced Cloaking Device (4) Intelligence Agent (1) TIE Striker: · "Duchess" (23) Adaptability (Increase) (0) Adaptive ailerons (0) -- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. -- My buddy's variant was no system officer, and replace intelligence agent with agent kallus. Right to the point my buddy got 8th and I got 16th out of 17 (I couldn't fly for crap that day (flew echo on a rock!!!) and my opponents did awesome, not playing for a month and using a new list will do that lol). Stridan in this build offers pure synergy and still has teeth for that first volley or two, then runs into the "can't turn around issue". But coordinate/hux/system officer still provide support after he flies by. The list as a whole has teeth and is a lot of fun to fly. On a side note, this list is NOT forgiving of mistakes.
  6. Ive been playing the same list but Ryad replaced with juke/x7 Vessery. In one game I was able to take out Ventress in one round of firing thanks to QD double tap and focus fire from everyone, absolutely brutal. In the same game I discovered that TLTs are awful for the SF but not unbeatable, just needs clever maneuvering and focus firing. I will have to give your Ryad build a try because I also noticed once back draft was gone, Vessery became much less potent. I don't want the opponent to have such an obvious target to weaken my list. On a side note on the 15th I'll be taking a QD, Back draft, and 3 Delta x7s to an escalation tournament, I'm excited to see how it performs.
  7. Used the same build tonight against a stress build: Asajj Ventress, Old Teroch, and Ruthless Freelancer. In two games against the same build I destroyed all ships with Vessery in both games taking the brunt of the damage. I think his downfall in both games was thinking vessery was the biggest threat. Suicide Quickdraw puts up stupid amounts of damage as you said before. My only possibly change to the list might be switching out maneuver for something else, I only used it once in either game, probably because of the way I fly Back draft. I'm curious to see how this list performs against Dengaroo or Triple U-boat lists.
  8. I used a similar 2 SF and Defender list yesterday against a buddy of mine, who used a standard 3 Defender list (Vessery, Ryad, and Delta). TIE/sf Fighter: · "Quickdraw" (29) Crack Shot (1) Fire Control System (2) Special Ops Training (0) Sensor Cluster (2) TIE/sf Fighter: · "Backdraft" (27) Veteran Instincts (1) Fire Control System (2) Special Ops Training (0) Sensor Cluster (2) TIE Defender: · Countess Ryad (34) Juke (2) TIE/x7 (-2) -- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. -- I don't have Rage at the moment so I went for a more long game version of quickdraw. I was short for time so I decided to joust the Defenders just to make it a quick game. I ended up winning due to clever flying with the SFs and some lucky dice rolling (tbh my buddy was rolling straight garbage). Back draft was amazing, throwing out 3 crits one round, and I feel Quickdraw really wants the super aggressive/suicidal rage/baffle combo now, I was only able to utilize her ability once. I will definitely be testing the SFs more thoroughly now, probably switch to BleakSquadrons build or a version of it.
  9. Thanks for the input everyone! I'll post a joint-list of what my buddy and I decide on later. Thanks for the analysis Astech on what makes an epic build comptetitive too, love that super range 1 combo build too.
  10. So what is the main verdict on competitive builds in this case, one teammate brings a loaded huge ship w/ support and the other focuses on a swarm? Or can can each teammate bring a huge ship and still be competitive?
  11. Thanks Astech, you've given me some good info to mull over. My only qualm is I so badly want to fly the raider since I've never used it lol. I can't deny the effectiveness of the bomber list you posted though.
  12. Thanks for the input! To be honest at first I looked at this and cringed but the more I thought about it, the more it appealed to me. I'll have to play gets this or a variant of it soon.
  13. Hello Everyone! I've been a long time follower of this forum and this is my first post (woo). Anywho on to business. My buddy and I will be doing a 2v2 Epic 400 pt (200 pts per team mate) tournament later this month. As of right now my team mate plans on running the gozanti along with an escort of bombers. I plan on using the Raider and whatever else complements our forces. I've never played epic and therefore have no experience outfitting the raider. The plan is finish the Raider first then fill with other ships. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
