JimCrim got a reaction from Mr. LeeOC in Hmm. Yay?
That price point is an insta-pass. I know Kickstarters are going that high, and the 'per mini' price is ok or whatever... but no. It's too expensive for an unproven crawler when there's a dozen on the market, and some of em we know are good. I wish the company well. I'm guessing this one dies.

JimCrim got a reaction from Lafaugere in Open packs or no?
I'm about to finish Carcosa cycle, I've completed Dunwich.. And I'm opening them as I go. There's no real need to do that.. But I'm digesting the card pool nicely at this pace imo.. And there's still lots I haven't gotten to.
Ill start Forgotten Age with 2 new classes and build all over again... There's no wrong answer imo

JimCrim got a reaction from Soakman in Arkham Horror Lifespan
I hope you are all right and there's cycles aplenty still coming because I dig the product and it's a **** fine game.. I presume it's all about sales.. If it sells they'll make more. When that slows, the end will be in sight.. Right now it seems like a healthy product, so that's cool.

JimCrim reacted to Allonym in I really want to start but is it too late?
Hi and welcome.
It's definitely not too late. There are a couple of packs that are hard to get hold of at the moment (I gather that Miskatonic Museum is hard to find right now) but I am confident in stating that future print runs will be forthcoming. You should be able to catch up happily, with maybe a couple of gaps in your collection in the beginning.
As for an end to support for the game, obviously we can't know for certain, but Arkham LCG has (anecdotally) consistently been very profitable for FFG and the designers have stated that they have possible plans for many more cycles to come - plus, there's a large collection of investigators from the other Arkham Files games that are yet to be released. So I would be very surprised if the game didn't see continued support, releases and reprints. It may be that support is a bit spotty given the fluctuating position of FFG at the moment, but discontinuation is very unlikely.
For comparison, the LOTR LCG has recently been put on indefinite hiatus, but has been going for almost a decade now, and it seems that they (temporarily?) discontinued it because they had simply run out of content. With the huge amount of untapped potential and design space in the Arkham LCG, I don't see that happening any time soon.
You do occasionally see people selling off large collections of Arkham LCG so that might be an idea if you were wanting to make sure you don't miss out - though I completely understand wanting to buy new cards for yourself and assemble your collection piece by piece, I'm the same.

JimCrim reacted to Faranim in Arkham Horror Lifespan
I've seen or heard in various interviews with Matt Newman that when the Core Set was first released, they had a rough roadmap that covered approximately 10 cycles and the approximately 55 well-known Investigators from AH/EH games. So I would expect to see at least that many cycles.
Also, the fact that FFG is willing to produce a "joke" product like Barkham Horror is a good indicator that the game is still alive and well (Financially/fanbase).

JimCrim reacted to Majushi in FFG Interactive Disbanded... app future?
Asmodee Digital (IA, Descent, JiME apps) are not the same as FFI (LotR LCG Video Game).
AFAIK they're also based in completely different places. Hard to relocate staff at that point.

JimCrim got a reaction from Yellow 5 in New expansion again!! "Sanctum of twilight"
In general it's a good sign for the health of the product line... very cool that people are liking/buying it up, which means more material for us all in the long run.

JimCrim reacted to Mep in New expansion again!! "Sanctum of twilight"
The important thing is they are really supporting this game and moving full steam ahead with expansions. We just need more digital releases.

yes!!!!!

Given how many times I've said after a hockey game "They won because I turned the game off, you're welcome" I'll accept this as scientific fact .

JimCrim got a reaction from xodarap in Masks of Nyarlathotep
I like the stories as well... it adds to the whole 'narrative' feel which Eldritch can really shine at. It feels similar to the personal weaknesses of investigators in Arkham Horror LCG, which are terrific and thematic (imo).

It's quite possible that they 'mysteries' mechanic is a bit different for this AO... allowing time for the personal investigation/resolution (and/or, it's a useful path if you succeed etc..)

JimCrim reacted to Chronos96 in Masks of Nyarlathotep
I'm excited about the personal stories, they seem like they'll add a lot more flavor and the concept of campaign play seems cool. I wonder though if this is going to be the final expansion for the game just like Miskatonic was for Arkham. The expansions seem to cover things in broad strokes so I wonder how much more they can do in terms of ancient ones.

JimCrim reacted to jopan in Trials of Frostgate - Official Announcement
Thats not bad. They give different playstyles in the game.
Thats an upgrade for me.
Maybe in the future we will see and skirmish in Descent or capture the flag lol.
I love Descent and using the content from everything i have bought makes me happy.
I want to play the more i can with all these expansions (tiles, monster, heroes, lieutenants).

JimCrim got a reaction from Willange in Any chance of an upgrade kit for 3rd edition owners?
Yeah... heavy price tag for some streamlined changes if you own all the 3rd Ed content and expansions (as I do). One of my favorites, but not a whole lot changing here...

I completely agree. It's sorta hard to justify $150 just to have things be shiny and new again. Like I said in the other thread, I can always house rule and print off the strategy cards on nice material for much cheaper. It does look nice, but again it's tough to justify compared to just getting a brand new game or 2 or even 3 for that price.

JimCrim reacted to SpawnGarret in Slight hope? - Battlelore mentioned at GAMA Trade show
So, not buying into RW makes BL chances better? Understood
Anyway, I am waiting for my KS Mythic Battles: Pantheon, I think that would satisfy my 2-player board game with miniatures needs better than RW

JimCrim got a reaction from maxam in New RTL Campaign: Seeds of Corruption (REQUIRES SoN!)
I think Delve is perfect for what it is... feel like dungeon crawling with some friends who can't commit to 10 sessions for a campaign? When you feel like smashing some monsters and play a single session it's perfect. I dig the narrative of the campaign as well, but Delve opens the experience up for more casual sessions.
How about the last 48 hours for FFG app users? another MoM scenario and a free Descent campaign. Very sweet.
