    Have a dollar store ruler on the table and just hold it from corner to corner of the target tiles. There isn't much to los in this game, and since you're coop there shouldn't be many arguments about los.
    Adding thos to the app would just slow it and you down more than really help, since it doesnt track movement of figs.

    Pro tip - if you ace your first side quest (I.e lose no moral) to straight onto the second one. If it gets dicey and looks like you'll lose moral just quit the quest for no penalty. We got 2 extra sides in last play through with this method.

    For reference see page 7 of the rules:
    ACTION LIST
    The activation window displays which type of monster (master or minion) is activating first, followed by a list of potential actions (each marked with the symbol).
    For each monster of the displayed type, players resolve the displayed actions from top to bottom until the monster has performed 2 actions. Any actions that the monster cannot resolve are skipped (see “Skipping Actions” to the right).
    If players get to the bottom of the list, they cycle back through it until the monster’s activation ends. The monster’s activation ends after it has resolved 2 actions or when it cannot resolve any actions in the list.
    Normal restrictions and special abilities still apply. For example, most monsters cannot attack more than once per activation, so any actions that contain attacks are skipped if the monster already attacked.

    Since I don't have that expansion I haven't seen the Death Cry action list. Is it possible that the Special Effect is allowing Death Cry twice?

    It was stated by Christian Peterson the CEO of FFG at the In-Flight report at GenCon 2016. Pretty amazing, as "hearsay" had previously been sales had doubled... nice to have a confirmation that improves on the rumours!

    I do this. Seems to have worked out so far.
    The "special effect" listed at the top of the monster activation is in addition to the regular rules. It can be very deadly.

    Looks like you got your answer but I wanted to point out if you select the skull icon on the top of the monster activation page it will list the order in which the monster should spend surges.
     Cycle through the possible monster actions until either the monster does all its possible activations with in the regular rules (move/move or move/attack) or its unable to act. Skip any actions it cannot do (like attack a second time). Only the "special effect" at the top of the activation page supersedes the rules.
    Yes you played it correctly. The big monsters often get stuck behind the small ones. The app compensates for its inability to do actual "informed" monster strategy by adding in the "special effects" in an attempted to balance the AI. IMO it works darn good.

    I think we can safely say that there will be another RtL campaign that only requires the base game and it will be most likely released during the next 6-10 months.

    From this point on, it's quite uncertain what will happen, although if the PoD coops are any indication on what to expect, expansion specific RtL campaigns aren't completely out of the question (contrary to typical FFG expansion policies).

    Normally FFG is always only releasing expansions that only require the base game, because the market for expansions that require expansions is much smaller than the market for expansions that just require the base game. However there are exceptions to this and these exceptions typically come with low priced expansions that don't need to be mass-produced to generate profit. Examples of these expansions are the mentioned PoD coops as well as the lieutenant packs (kind of) and the figure packs for Imperial Assault (also not totally exclusive to expansions, but ~70% of their content is exclusive to expansion-owners).
    The RtL campaigns would also fall into this category, as they only need to be developed, no mass-producing required to get the price down to a level where the product will be good value and profitable.

    But the RtL app has even more possibilities to counteract the problem of a potentially unprofitable size of the market. The app stores what expansion you do own and if FFG wants, they can easily collect the data of how many people who play the app have expansion X or Y and release a campaign for the expansions most people own. Since FFG expirienced that app releases can even trigger people to purchase physical expansions, I think FFG is very likely to release expansion exclusive RtL campaigns at some point in the future, after they catered to the base game only crowd (and two campaigns seem to be some kind of standard so far, as there are 2 campaign-books and 2 PoD coops for the base game so far).

    Also I can't agree with the H&M packs being best value for the RtL app. Imo the one thing that makes the campaigns replayable and that keeps the game fresh are the variety in hero classes and those only come with boxed expansions, which, in the case of big box expansions, come even with more monsters and as much heroes as the H&M packs.

    Much of the traditional descent quests just wouldn't work in the app, unless they make the AI a thousand times more intelligent for starters.
    So I don't think a 1:1 conversion of any of the box campaigns will ever happen.

    I do agree that some expansions could add more than just one sidequest.
    A mini campaign for each Big Box expansion would make more sense for example. (Rise of All Goblins could be considered the one for the Base box then 2 more mini campaigns for LoR and SoN)

    I would like to see:

    - Random dungeon generator (skirmish mode, something like the coop print-on-demand expansions) (willing to pay for this);
    - More work with the sounds: voiceover for flavor texts, dynamic music, more varied ambient sounds;
    - Option to increase text size. I cast the app to my TV, but it is far away from the game table and text is hard to read.
    - More campaigns of course! (willing to pay for this);
    - Integrate tiles (and other stuff) from expansions to all quests, not only a few side quests.
    - Even more flavor: longer description of interactable objects and quest start/end story; also more interactable objects and more travel events... anything to bring that RPG / exploration feeling to the game.
    - Something to enable playing printed campaigns (from the base game and expansions) cooperatively with RTL (willing to pay for this).

    General feedback:

    This app was a game changer for me. My group didn't really like Descent very much, so we kinda forgot it and moved on. Recently we tried the app and are loving it. Particularly the fact that the scenario is revealed as you explore it. Adds a sense of fear / expectation that wasn't there with an overlord player. Also, we can play together

    This app made me order every expansion and monster/hero pack available so far. Also bought the coop PoDs and really liked them as well. Anyway, I hope FFG will devote more time on developing the app, expanding it with the features mentioned above and in other posts.

    Thanks FFG!!

    God yes! I'm itching to throw money at FFG for more campaigns. They should be able to add more campaigns every few months as they have the ground work done and it is more of a toolbox setup now for future campaigns.
    If not then hopefully open it to the community to make campaigns.

    I couldn't agree more: I am still baffled that the search deck has all but been ignored by the developers. I am not going to play less Descent because of this but it goes without saying that an expanded search deck would add to the fun and tension when doing a search action. Not knowing exactly what you are going to find is half the fun. Neither should it contain too many cards but a (slightly) different search deck depending on the scenario could go a long way. The posters above have given interesting possibilities for new search cards. As Takeda suggested, I will gladly pay money for a card only expansion that remedies this. Pretty Please FFG  .

    I'd be happy enough if they re-introduced the "Treasure Chest" search card - the App can randomly select the shop item.

    Let's also get the NAME of the hero listed, perhaps under his/her picture.  I, for one, do not have every picture/name memorized. It would help us old folks out, as I can barely see the **** pictures on the hero cards to match up against the even smaller picture on the app

    The Defense of Thelys is the changeover point - you're in Act II after that (at least as far as monsters are concerned, shop items are their own strange beast)

    Going forward with (hopefully) lots of new campaigns, it'd be really handy if there was a prominent display of the current Act - if not on the world map, maybe on the save slot.
