  1. It is going to be an Emerald Championship Story Box with a new Emerald Champion Totori from the leaks coming from playtesters.
  2. I am planning the GenCon Crab Clan Dinner. I have created this form to gather what day, time, and place people would like to have the dinner. Please fill this out if you are going to GenCon this year. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd0azTKTt5sWkqxtTnU_sCcTQWFXtfyLy130eAdEvTIZvPC-A/viewform?usp=sf_link
  3. in that scenario the opponent would just choose not to resolve it. Plus, why would they attack with water if it couldn't resolve against you.
  4. Nate French has already responded officially stating that is how they work. Twice on attack, but attacker resolves ring once when win on defense and use ability.
  5. The opponent cannot do that. He has to choose a target that actually has a potential to change the board state. Because the yojimbo is in play and blocks any effect on the shugenja, there is no potential for change in board state by selecting the shugenja; therefore, he must select the yojimbo. It is the same thing as For Shame when steward of law is in the conflict, opponent must bow a character because they cannot dishonor due to steward of law.
  6. You then introduce the problem of abilities that interact with the ring being too OP now. Especially Tsukune.
  7. Play a few games with each clan deck to get a feel for the game, then look at the clan lore for each clan and player community for each clan. If you like all of that, then choose your clan based upon lore, card playstyle, and player community of clan.
  8. A trend I have been seeing on this forum and Facebook is people saying FFG is making horrible business decisions because it is either not what you would have done or negatively affects you. I think this is a bad way to operate. If you don't like something FFG does, first try to gather ALL the facts. Then try to look at it from a pro decision stand point, and honestly step back and evaluate. If you still think it is bad, because FFG can make bad decisions, state the issue calmly and support it with facts. Also, because of the global customer base of FFG, what is true in one part of the world may not be true in all parts.
  9. I also recommend joining the L5R discord and doing an online game with them. They are more than willing to take the time to show someone how to play.
  10. making characters tall makes them more susceptible to the void ring. Also the Void ring is one of your greatest tools at keeping your opponents board state down. Also if you are concerned about board state, lion splash of For Greater Glory provides you the ability to swarm a lot like lion. Unicorn splash for captive audience and spyglass is still great too for the reasons stated above. Crane splash helps you control conflict board state a bit and give crab a bit of a "Nope" deck theme with above question and steward of law. IMO There are only three valid splashes for a good crab deck; unicorn, lion, and crane.
  11. Add Charleston L5R Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1504417289652324/
