I've played Han quite a bit lately, he is really good, he is also hard to ignore, when focused, he can lay out 9 damage from over 8 spaces away with 3po by his side, he is really hard to kill. At 12 pts he is not competitive. He takes up too much of your list. Chewie is worse by a long shot.both of them in a list is stupid.
Just admit you were wrong and poorly staffed and didn't take skirmish seriously at the beginning and redo some of the point costs. Pass out stickers in a pack or rerelease certain figures.
My fear with all the super damage figures, is they're going to raise the army limit to 50.
Well, with the new vp system and new uniques and powerfull fixes, the game is changing a lot. Raise the army limit to 50 is not a good idea. I think ffg is balanced game with command cards so super damage uniques are countered with special command cards like the hunter ones (a good combo of this cards actually can take down han in two attacks).
My point is, obviously han and chewie are not competitive at the moment, but with a few changes (even a cost reduction like vader) they could be truly competitive figures. Just imagine han at 8 points and with some extra mini helps, i think i buy it.
The bad is whenever more uniques become powerfull and cheaper, more unique based list to the meta. Is hard to balance this game.

You can use unshakable at start of any of your activations so is not that hard clean stun until end of the round.
Of course there will be combos to bring him down but i think actually is more powerfull than jedi luke. Is incredible how the rerolls increase his average attack, i didn't see that in paper.
Just imagine a list with palpatine and some officers in wich he can "activate" few times (his own, officers move, palpy attack order and in the end round) this is potentially 3 miniature kill per round or a big one. I can't wait to see what combos people who knows skirmish better than me will be bring to the meta, and what other people do to counter.
A thing i notice is that his command card is losing power (well never was too powerfull, but brutality helps to trigger actions)

In my last game using hatred vader, he kill the rancorn in one round, then he kill shayla varad and 3 weeqays while carryng an objetive token... so a 13 points figure gains around 30 points. Obviously i won the match 40-24 .
The point is i'm starting to think they really made a little op the new vader. What happen if the next meta we only see vaders? I don't like this but there is no fix unless all the new stuff and fixes makes the meta more playable for more figures. Pray.

1 hour ago, DerBaer said:Yeah, maybe this is overkill. Maybe just give em both another Surge: Pierce 2 or something like that.
My key point just was: They are both good, just too expensive and have too few surge abilities. There is not much change needed. Can we agree on that?
If you look at ig88 and vader, they didn't change his habilities or surges too much, i think the fixes are in the way that gives more actions per round to use his powers:
Vader: 3'5 actions per round
Luke: 3 actions per round
Igg 88: 2'5 actions per round
We can expect han and chewie to be around 3 actions oer round (2 of them that causes damage). The rest of the cards are ok only too expensive for his action utility.

Can we expect news today??

I'm starting to think that we will not have an article today.

I spent the first activations focusing Onar and positioninf the Hired Guns. The Guards moved up, and the Officers moved Vader a bit. I moved in with Vinto to double tap a Guard and use his card for another shot, putting 3 damage on Vader. Vader killed Vinto and choked a Hired Gun that was positioned to run away with a 10 point crate. I moved in with IG for two RRG attacks, Vader rolled poorly on defence and took about 9 damage.
He put some hurt on my guys, I used Onar and Blaze to put Vader on 1 health. At the start of next turn, I body slammed Vader for the last point of damage. The game was still very close on points at the end, as all of my focus on Vader meant that the Imps carried away two boxes, so the end score was something like 40-37, even though I had most things left and my opponent was down to the two Officers.
All in all, it felt very cool and powerful on both sides. I got lucky with my Command cards, and Vader probably should have stayed a bit further back, but it felt like I could take him down with a group effort.
Obviously with a good scum hunter list he will be die. But try this with rebels and you will see that i say.

21 hours ago, cnemmick said:@buckero0 Your comment in the other post gave me a Boba Thought (tm):
So this gives Boba essentially three choices for a secondary damage abilities -- and you can choose to do ANY TWO OF THESE in one attack. It also defines abilities that are iconic for Boba... and this is probably so wordy that it won't fit on a **** Skirmish Attachment Card BUT WE'RE GONNA TRY IT ANYWAYS.
Yeah, his Flamethrower is not as strong as Terro's. He's triggering it as a SURGE ability and can do another SURGE abilities to the targets of it.
Wrist Rocket basically gives him a +2 DMG boost to his primary weapon target.
And this Boba Focused & using his Command card? DEATH BLOSSOM!!!!!
It is very, very likely this Boba is OP. Care to test?
Look awesome... but keep in mind his command card (2 attack with +1surge and using all battle discipline). It sounds to me like a auto win "this guy that would keep the objetive, take a wirst rocket and get out; you will attack in your next activation with focus? Come on you are stunned now madafakaaaa!" Sounds hilarius yes, but the oponent will cry after this.
Also if you add jabba to the ecuation, focus boba + extra attack. The hell for boba's enemies.

I like Never Tell Me the Odds though. I think that's an important aspect of Han's character that should be communicated.
If you wanted to improve his action economy without just giving him a free extra attack, you could replace his Return Fire with the opposite of Greedo's Slow on The Draw - let Han attack someone who declares an attack against him, once per round. That would be quite strong, but like Greedo's ability there are ways to play around it (maybe it could be restricted to only ranged attacks too).
Just that you say was my previous homemade fix for han:
The main problem with this, after months of plays is that simply people don't shoot han.
-
I think my imagine fix is also themathic. What things han do?
-He pointed people with his blaster and if the situation go wrong he shoot (so he can shoot at the start of his activation) or flee to fight in a more adventage situation (1move and 1 recover)
-he is a slippery guy if the things don't go as he wish (so if he doesn't roll evades that let him use cunning, he may prefer running away 2 spaces) come on how many times we have seen han running and shooting the enemy back? He does this all time. Perfect situation to trigger return fire more thematic than dodge and stay frost. This is han solving troubles haha

Also the fix contains all @cnemmick said (10 points figure, 2 attack but don't 2 of 3 dies and his hability trigger more offten, about 50% of times if he receives close combat attacks)

1 hour ago, Quigman said:I like my custom version of Diala so much better. Cost of 6, 10 health, everything else the same.
So force user list will be Davith (6), Diala (7), Luke (12), Ahsoka (8), Obi-Wan (7) and you can use Heroic Effort (0).
HotE is expected to have some serious force user command cards...it'll just depend as to whether or not the Imperials will have access to the same ones.
Knowledge and Defense! Hopefully with a meditation the round before to be able to do the full move, attack, extra defense!
It seems like a tons of resources in a desesperate attack that only would damage 3-5 on vader.
Rebels are actually one step behind the other factios (perhaps two against scum) at least in my personal experience.
-
Against the odds.
-2 points. Attachment. Han solo (scoundrel) only.
You lose "distracting".
At the start of your activation you may perform an attack using one green and one blue die or gain 1 movement point and recover 1*.
while defending, if you haven't any evade result, you may retire all defense results and move up to 2 spaces. Limit once per round.
What do you think? It solves the major han's issues: mobility, action economy and he can trigger "return fire" more often if he moves correctly.
-
Ey what happens here? We can't let this die! Is the most complete tier list i saw for IA.
When finally the list will be complete? At least to jabba's realm.

@theaficionado you are our only hope.

JUst tuday i had my last encoubter against ultra vader. My list was obi wan, hera, gideon, 3po, 2eSab and rRangers.
I use a big part of my army and some powerfull commands (assesinate, tools for the job...) to try kill him when comes into my troops and at the end of the match i lost with 18-40 and vader still alive. He kills hera, gideon, 2 sabs and 2 rangers... And he causes around 9 damage in obiwan.
I felt like a child without escape. I really like vader but it seems a little op to my actual rebel lists. I hope this all change with the release of HotE and the other packs....

22 minutes ago, RogueLieutenant said:Otherwise, I would imagine you'd want multiple units with Pierce 3 and also ways to do unblockable damage.
Ublockable damage is really one of the best ways. Grenadier, Bantha, or other stuff that can't be mitigated by black dice.
Sadly, rebels don't have enough of this stuff. :s

8 hours ago, caseycheesecake said:Same way you beat everything: 2 deployments of elite Weequays with a vast arsenal of hunter cards.
Yeah and add jabba and a bantha to this and vader fall with some focus and stramples but i'm asking about rebels that in my opinion they are a little bit worse than scum.
Don't make me wrong, in our plays vader has down sometimes even with no scum, but it takes a lot of effort by the poor rebels for only 13 points. He actually worth this. Not when he was 18 and if you focused on kill him it will bring you the victory.
5 points is a world in this game

Hi everyone!
After a few friendly skirmish with this upgrade (with zillo of course) my group and i decided to ask a simple question: How can rebels confront this driven by hatred guy?
The lists we use vader are built around with some guards and officers; his droids and officers; dewbacks and eJet troops... and all this people in different combinations. The point is vader looks unnstoppable now for only 13 points for our rebel lists (with eRangers, Luke, Leia, 3po, gideon, han, hera....in different ways) and all time one of us play with vader, the match result in a victory for the empire, no matter who control the rebels. (of course we don't talk about scum lists with hunters, only empire vs rebels)
Anyone have an advice or some combination that could counter this guy with a rebel list?

Here you had a @Animewarsdude card with the damage and strain on force choke. I take the license of change the art too
