I test played him last night.  he battled through obiwan and Jedi Luke.  he was a beast.  kept moving forward crushing figures at the end of each round too.

Yeah i just played my first skirmish with vader driven by hatred and... he is a beast. Actually with all the command cards that give you movement points and with zillo and unshakable he is an unstoppable tank !

In my game he kill jedi luke, gideon and 2 eRangers!! (With a little help by an eOfficer) and he end the match with 12 damage saving his 13 points :)

With the Heart of the Empire expansion that was just announced, we get the Driven by Hatred card for Vader.  Do you think we will see a resurgence of him in the Skirmish scene?  I would love to see some epic Jedi Luke vs Vader action.  Such an iconic character needs to see more time on the table.

I think you will satisface!  With the upgrade, at only 13 points, Vader have 3,5 actions per activation (2 actions + 2 movement pont + attack or chocke again). Don't forget the new force user command cards and the lists with the emperor. Good times for Vader!!

  3. Looking at the new skirmish upgrade "Driven by Hatred" for Vader, some doubts come to me:

1- what is the vader figure cost with the upgrade? 13 or 18?  if you have a list with weiss or RGC, with the "motivation" upgrade... can they heal vader and give him 1 movement point, cause they are actually higher costed?

2- what about his command card "Lord of the sith"? this card usually allows vader to do all in a round (brutality, move and chocke) but he already can do it without, thanks to the upgrade. On the other hand, brutality was an extra bonus for this card, giving him 3 potentially actions using it (2 for brutality+ 1 chocke guy), but now he only can kill two guys in his own activation so the card loses power. I really think that he need a new command card.

3- what happen if you kill a guy with vader "end of the round" actions, if that guy was control some objetive that give VP at the end of the round? what is the correct order of events here?

    Expect some answer guys! ;)

Buddy pointed this out: Fringe case, but if Maul is defeated before he activates, you can exhaust him with Change of plans to hold the points, and potentially exhaust him again with Take initiative. Interesting.

But in the time he is not active and has no heal...he is dead

I'd love a force user wave:
New imperial force user with a skirmish upgrade for Vader,
    A merc force user,
A new version of Han with rebel force user cards to make Davith, Diala, and Obi-wan more competitive.

Only problem is Jedi Luke is already very powerful and it would be hard to introduce new force user cards without completely breaking him.

Creature/Brawler and Vehicle/Heavy Weapon are likely candidates for buffs.

I'm agree with this.. All you said is all we need.  You only forgot a skirmish upgrade for chewie.  I really want to see the skirmish upgrade for Vader!! looking at IG 88's one, it would be awesome!

    MORE FORCE USER CARDS!!

    Hello Guys and Girls!

My wife's Favorite Star Wars Character is Ahsoka Tano and she loves playing and painting IA.

So I try to create her a balanced homemade figure to our next aniversary

I really appreciate some feedback and i gladly share my final work with you as well.

    This is my current state.

(i used various materials from the web like the headpice for the figure  and the lightsabers made by Sixus1)

Thank you for your help in advance!

    Regards:

If you have a 3d model, i recomended you the web https://www.shapeways.com/  they already had good materials and you can get an ashoka mini like the official ones (or pretty close).    Recently i upload some models in a material called "black" , it costs around 15-20$  depends on the wall thickness and the amount of material (in the case of the thiny ashoka it will not much :) )

  7. since there are uniques with cost half or less than vader, that can do great damage and with better command cards.... poor vader doesn't see table.  I can't imagine how they'll fix our favourite sith lord, but need a great fix.

So I may be a little late to this party, but I came up with this. I think its thematic and fun, please critique.

    Lord Vader’s Wrath

    Lose Force Choke

More Machine Than Man: This figure cannot be assigned conditions.

Shock and Awe: Any non-unique, non-droid hostile figure that begins its activation within 3 spaces of this figure and is within line of sight of this figure immediately gains the Stunned condition

(Action) Power Of The Dark Side:  Choose a figure within line of sight and perform one of the following:
    - Deal two damage.
    - Move that figure up to two spaces.
    - That figure gains the stunned condition.
You may then exhaust this card to perform an attack. (You cannot do this if you have performed the Brutality action this activation)

You cannot perform the Brutality action if this card is exhausted.

Shock and awe sounds too powerful. People start to use vader running throw the enemy forces and then use the rest of the list to hunt them down.

I don't understand the exhaust hability. It means that you don't spend action to attack? This would means that brutality have no sense if you can do 2 attacks, one by action and another by exhaust.

Perhaps stunning with force choke is an option to ensure the enemy don't flee from vader position.

Ah men, i love this design speculations :D

I think that's correct. It give Rebels a 1-round buffer time

It's more useful during side missions when you get a 1-shot threat bonus of 2X threat level. So let's say threat level is 4, you get bonus 8-threats in the beginning

Your starter card gives you -3 (spend 1 threat to reduce cost by 4)

Leave them to me gives you another -5

So it's entirely possible for Rebels to see...say RGC in round 1, it's just that RGC doesn't get to activate until round 2

    OR

A lot of the missions have the trigger ex. after open door, increase threat by the threat level and resolve an optional deployment. You can use it there too

Also note it says "After picking open groups", so the villain card does not take up one of your open group slots. Combo that with your starter = 2 free slots for villains

But you can't play more than 1 villian per mission.. Right?

Did you see that his new card gives him +5 Health?  He's certainly sub-par at 12 Cost and 10 Health...but at 15 Health he actually survives pretty well.  He's just less swing-y now.  It used to be that he could get a big Recover 6 on his turn and really change the game...or he could drop like a sack of potatoes and lose you the game.

    So it's not just +Pierce1 and -Recover3 ... it's also Health+5.

I think the new Iggy is going to be dynamite in skirmish play!

And don't forget you can heal him with some droid cards. Even without heal him, +5 health is better than spend 2 of your surges in recover 6, i mean.
