They were announced several months ago, by Asmodee, not FFG, but I don’t think any other versions have been announced as yet...

This expansion is fantastic.  Love it.  My only issue is that it came out too soon...I haven't finished getting my fill of the Red Skull set yet.

Played with a Dr. Strange Protection deck solo and beat him "easily."  I put that in quotes because while the outcome was lopsided in my favor, it could have gone in a completely different direction numerous times with different card draws.  Got a bit lucky.  I began with Crimson Bands of Cyttorak and Master of the Mystic Arts, so I was able to knock out Stage I fairly quickly.  Glad to finally have consistent use for Vapors of Valtorr in this scenario.  Kang's obligation cards are a beast though...
Really enjoyed the mechanics and am looking forward to trying out multiplayer.

I usually build as a solo deck and use that while playing multiplayer and really appreciate themed synergies built into each character.
I had a ton of fun running an aggression deck with Captain America using cards from the Hulk pack.  He's more resilient than Hulk (despite the higher HP) and many of those new cards require exclusive use of fighting energy and that's easy to generate with some of his other cards like Super Soldier Serum.  Shared this in another post, but one of my favorite moments with it was exhausting Martial Prowess for Toe to Toe then using Shield Block to prevent all damage from the villain's attack before dealing out 5 damage for a low cost.  Moments like that when synergies flow is one of my favorite parts of the game.
Doctor Strange is another favorite and I think his greatest strength (as to be expected) is in his own skillset: the invocations.  I run him with a solid protection deck to buy him the time and space he needs to control the board and I've been pretty successful with him.
Others, like Hulk, sometimes feel like they need other characters in the game to be effective and I haven't found a great solo deck for him.
Now, Spider-Woman has been a pleasant surprise.  Did not expect to like this character as much as I have but she is really good.  The deck construction is all over the place though with all four aspects represented in some form or fashion and it would be tough for me to deviate from her preset deck.  It's the only preset deck I haven't seen the need to tweak much to be effective anyway.

You have been playing correctly. Step 10 of setup in the Rules Reference is explicit that Setup and When Revealed abilities on cards that entered play during setup do resolve.
Surge does not trigger because it is neither of these, it is a keyword that reacts to a card being revealed, and the starting environment for Absorbing Man is discarded and then put into play rather than revealed, bypassing Surge.
Hopefully that makes sense? It isn't the most intuitive but I think it is consistent with the rules.

    I’ve been resolving it 3, 4, 1, 2
The machine gun damage is completely separate from the attack damage.

    1) it’s not there yet - I’m not sure if Hall of heroes have a copy scanned on there.
    2) the timing isn’t hugely clear - it doesn’t replace the attack. I’ve been flipping the card for machine gun before resolving the rest of the attack.

Yeaaaah hahaha this box has some pretty bad typos/print issues. The two copies of Hail Hydra both have slight phrasing differences from each other and the one in Cap's nemesis set, Avengers Tower lost the Avenger  trait, and one or two of Red Skull's cards have the wrong number of cards written on them.

As for Crossbones, Assault is the intention, not patrol. Caleb confirmed this on Facebook for us. 👍

I originally had a pre-order through Amazon that was supposed to arrive by the 8th.  The morning of the 8th I received an email from Amazon saying the order had been delayed indefinitely and they would update me on a new delivery date.  Not hopeful, I called a local, major game retailer about two hours away who said they just received plenty of copies.  Ordered, shipped, and received in 2 days.  Amazon now says my original order is scheduled to arrive on October 30.
So...not sure if there's an actual supply issue or a logistics issue in getting shipments out.

I usually play it into Expert Rhino first (as I like to see if it works when it’s firing on all cylinders) and then play it into Expert Klaw.
I generally try against Rhino first as if it has significant issues doing what it was intended to without disruption, chances are it’s not going to work well in another scenario that’s actively trying to mess with my planning. I’ve only played it once so far, but Expert Absorbing Man might become a good alternative for this - it looks to be less swingy in true solo, and comes with a handy timer to show you how quickly a deck can beat him for comparison purposes...

On a somewhat related note, I just tried Captain America with Hulk's aggression deck, with some slight tweaks, and it was amazing.  Destroyed Expert Rhino before I was even 1/3 of the way through the encounter deck and only took 3 damage total the whole game.
One of my favorites was exhausting Martial Prowess to play Toe to Toe and Shield Block to deal 5 damage for basically the cost of 2 resources and no damage.
There's a lot of synergy with Cap's abilities and those aggression cards.

mike8104 reacted to IceHot42 in Solo vs Multi-Player w/ Data Analytics
I have heard a lot of people say that the game is too easy and needed “Heroic” mode to be challenging.  I would agree that sometimes it is too easy, but having played the game primarily as 2-player I didn’t feel there was a need for a Heroic mode.  Ultron Expert was a particular bane for us and it felt we had 30 or 40 fails before we actually beat him.  I watched videos of folks claiming it was an easy game only to find critical play mistakes in nearly every video I watched.
There are a lot of strong players are the forum here so I hypothesized that the disconnect had to do with multi-player vs solo play.  Mathing it out in my head it seemed that when the game is easy (Rhino/Risky Business), the game will be four-times as easy in multi-player.  However, when the game is hard (Ultron expert) it will be four-times as hard in multi-player.
Is my gut perception correct?  Am I just a bad player?  They say, “the proof is in the pudding”.  So I decided to create a challenge to see if my gut could be backed up by observable data (at least from my own perspective).   So here is the challenge I created…
First to keep things streamlined between games I decided to build a deck for each hero and test it a little in solo to make sure it played decently.  I decided I would have no more than 4 decks with a single aspect, and no less than 2 decks with each aspect (once we got Dr. Strange).  Black Widow, Dr. Strange, and Hulk would be added to the random rotation on arrival provided I could win at least once each against Rhino and Klaw expert.   The following are the aspect pairings I went with…
Ms. Marvel/Justice Spider-Man/Justice                 Black Panther/Justice Black Widow/Justice Capt. America/Leadership Iron Man/Leadership Capt. Marvel/Protection Dr. Strange/Protection Thor/Aggression She-Hulk/Aggression Hulk/Aggression Once the decks were decided, my son and I would progress through each Villain (except Wrecking Crew) for each module with a random multi-player pairing (9 matches for each villain). If the game was misplayed, we would toss it out and play again.
In Corollary, for the Solo side I would play each Villain-Module twice so that my solo inexperience could catch up (ie. 18 matches per villain).  The way this would work is that I would chose a random hero and play Bomb Scare. Then win or lose I would choose a new random hero and play Bomb Scare again.  I would then play MoE with the same hero.  Then I would get a new random hero and play MoE again, followed by Under Attack with the same hero.  Repeating the process through Power Drain.
I have now completed all the solo plays, plus all the multiplayer plays through Ultron Expert and a few Risky Business plays.  We will continue to collect data through the end of Mutagen Formula (which wil probably be delayed once we get Red Skull).  Here are the results (all expert plays)…
Rhino Solo (15 Wins – 3 Losses) vs Rhino Multi-player (8 Wins – 1 Losses)                 Klaw Solo (13 Wins – 5 Losses) vs Klaw Multi-Player (5 Wins – 4 Losses)                 Ultron Solo (12 Wins – 6 Losses) vs Ultron Multi-Player (0 Wins – 9 Losses)                 Risky Business Solo (15 Wins – 3 Losses) vs Risky Business Multi-Player (3 Wins so far no losses yet)                 Mutagen Formula Solo (2 Wins – 16 Losses) So to some degree it seems to have confirmed my hypothesis.  However, Mutagen definitely Feels like it is going to be easier Multi-Player.  If you have a hero that doesn’t flip in solo, you can just lose on turn one.  The pairing of heroes makes that much less likely in multi-player.
    Here were the module records…
Bomb Scare Solo (6-4) vs Multi-Player (3-1)                 Masters of Evil Solo (7-3) vs Multi-Player (2-2)                 Under Attack Solo (6-4) vs Multi-Player (2-2)                 Legion of Hydra Solo (5-5) vs Multi-Player (2-1)                 M.O.D.O.K. Solo (4-6) vs Multi-Player (2-1)                 Goblin Gimmicks Solo (8-2) vs Multi-Player (1-2)                 A Mess of Things Solo (9-1) vs Multi-Player (1-2)                 Running Interference Solo (6-4) vs Multi-Player (2-1)                 Power Drain Solo (6-4) vs Multi-Player (1-2)            So before claiming the game is too easy, I recommend giving Ultron Multi-Player Expert a try or better yet run the whole challenge for yourself and report back with your results.

The wording is actually ‘Deal’ not ‘Draw’. You deal yourself an Encounter card face down and then wait until step 4 of the Villain phase to resolve all of you dealt encounter cards. Step 4 is the only time you reveal encounter cards, and you continue to go round the table at step 4 until there are no more face down encounter cards, even if you get one after you’d resolved all your others.
