These days I'm happy when it's a question at all.
Well. Perhaps "happy" is too strong a term.

On the X-Wing subreddit, it sounds like more fatigued players are actually coming back.
This is just about what everyone was asking for.

No, it doesn't, because Jostero doesn't trigger from dealing facedown cards at all, he triggers from taking damage, which the Harpooned condition doesn't cause to its holder.
Jostero is also not triggered by Proton Bombs, Black Market Slicer Tools, etc etc.

People really need to stop trying to build facsimiles of reality when resolving card effects.
When you activate Talisman of the Sun, you move the ring from one province to another. That's literally all there is to it. The conflict doesn't 'move' to the new province. It isn't a new conflict. No-one 'relocates'. Nobody 'teleports'.
There are some pieces of card in your conflict zone, some pieces of card in your home zone, and a cardboard circle on the province of one of the two players. That cardboard circle moves.
    That is all.
Anything else is people trying to make stuff up to explain things in a narrative sense.
Don't do that; it's just game mechanics. I understand why people try to do that, but don't. You confuse yourself and you confuse other people.
    Just to be clear:
You pick up the contested ring and you put it down somewhere else.
Since the ring indicates which province is being attacked, the province that is being attacked has changed. The only possible side effect is that the new province might have to be turned face-up. Characters in the conflict zone are still in the conflict zone. The province that may get broken is still 'the one with the ring on it'.
    Think game mechanics, not fluff.

As long as they earned those places fair and square, I'd let them have it and level an unsportsmanlike conduct charge at anyone who complained. If you want to be in the final, stop losing.

And this is basically what is being discussed here.
Those saying the game ought to be stripped from the players are like playground bullies trying to shame people just for holding different (and perfectly legitimate) thoughts, perceptions, and ideals.
I do not and will not tolerate this in any game.

It is amazing to me that anybody exists who thinks that not only can two X-Wing players be forced to play a final, rather than resolve it by whatever means they want, but those players should be so forced, and punished if they don't.
    I mean ... really?
Poker can possibly have literally millions of dollars at stake, and poker players are well aware that only those players who still have equity in the remaining purse can decide if play continues or not.  The TO certainly can't.  (It's possible that in this era of televising huge tournaments, players might waive their right to determine, solely by equity in the purse, what happens.  I don't actually know.  But in any event, that's contractual, and separate from the question.)  But X-Wing is going to force players to play.
    Uh, no.

Is Countdown's ability a defence die? Nope, so it can cancel it just fine.
Though I should point out that Countdown doesn't cancel hits: he cancels all dice results.

Don't take the prizes away. They can just joust for a quick match, or they can drop.
My feeling is, if you wouldn't allow it in any other round, then it shouldn't be allowed in the final round. And by the same logic, if you're OK with it at the final table, you should be OK with the same thing happening at any stage of the event.

What I find funny is people saying that the top two rolling for it is a collusion, but a TO deciding to use the 3 and 4 to do the final is suddently not collusion...

Role 1.  You are the WAAC player who doesn't give a **** about how it takes to win.  If you're in one of those top two spots you're going to play.  If you've been eliminated in the round of 4 you're going to WHINE and do everything you can to figure out how to get something YOU DO NOT DESERVE because you've already lost and been eliminated.  If you're out, which you are if you've lost to the remaining players, you're out and don't get to say bo about what goes on.
Role 2.  If you've been defeated in the round of four you're already on your way home because the last game doesn't affect you.  If you won in the round of four maybe you talk to your opponent about how you're feeling.  Now it's essentially just the two of you left and your "game" doesn't affect anyone else who has already been eliminated for the tournament.  You may present the idea of a draw which will immediately lead to a tie breaker but of course there is no reason he'd need to accept.  If you're that hyper-competitive type and the opponent doesn't want to risk a draw then you play as suffer the result just like he does; if you're opponent is fine with the draw and semi-random resolution you grin and bear it no matter the resolution.
Role 3.  You may be in a tough spot but you're now down to 2 players at the top and how they want to resolve there game really doesn't affect the rest of the tournament one bit so you let them decide.  Now if you've got that ravenous crowd waiting to rip your head off because they want blood (how you get that I don't know) you could offer them a 3rd-place match if those at the 3-4 spot wanted to play.  Of course what if one of those has already gone headed out now what are you going to do?  If you're the TO and don't respect the process of elimination that produces the final two maybe you shouldn't be hosting anymore.

InquisitorM reacted to ZealuxMyr in "Harpooned !" and TLT
The whole point of the TLT card text is that you deal 1 damage to the defender and cancel all dice results before they get into step 7. The damage dealt from TLT, as with damage dealt by the Enforcer Title, Harpooned! condition card, Ion Cannon, etc., is damage dealt as a card ability and therefore is not a part of Step 7.
Step 7 only deals damage based on matching dice results in the attack dice pool:

InquisitorM reacted to Darth Meanie in Final Table and players won't play
^This.  It's a game, folks.  The world doesn't change if the top two guys are too tired to play.  And if that is the case, someone at FFG should think of a better way to organize tournaments so that the last 2 guys/gals standing aren't zombie dog meat when they sit down for the Big One.
And as far as the Super Bowl analogy goes, those players DID NOT SPEND ALL DAY PLAYING EVERY GAME IN THE PLAYOFFS BEFOREHAND.
You want the Sport-Wing Super Bowl to be the best game those player got?  Then don't do it at the end of a 12+ hour day.
Unless the game matters in some way as an event in and of itself (being streamed, very public like Worlds), the final decision is up to the players.  They are the ones who are there to have fun.  Not brutally slog it out in Iron Man X-Wing: No One Quits Unless Someone Dies.

Bull. That's just an opinion. Many people disagree. I happen to think all the sane people agree, but that's just me.
In essence, please don't state that as if it is factual.
