The imperial player at the end of each round had to choose an option from the event "subdue" and he choose the third one: 1threat: choose 1 group of stormtrooper, each figure in that group may perform 1 move or 1 attack.

 

He used this on heavy stormtrooper. Is that correct? i looked into the RRG and the only thing i Found about deployment cards name is

 

RRG Elite:

Elite deployment cards share the same name as regular Deployment cards. When a figure is called out by name (for example "Stormtrooper") this refer to both regular and elite versione of this figure.

 

So, he won with that free attack with heavy stormtrooper, without that we would have won with our first activation at the beginning of the round.

Do we have to replay the mission if the IP used the rule in the wrong way?
