probably. Chris has turned into a no life squadrons player (which tbh is the dream)

What is happening in here?
Anyway, I think Poe dropping is good for great balls of fire since it means I can add Heroic, but I'm still not sure if I want black 1 or R4. R4 helps me with the hard turns, which is cool, but black 1 means I can either eject from a bad joust or keep up with the fireballs for an initial engage (frequently a joust TBH). Also thinking about what I'll do with HoH Poe, who although he seems really good doesn't seem great for this list.
Follow-up: New Snap seems pretty good in a 4 block - use the -1 agility to incentivize shooting a worse target who also gets a calculate for offense or defense. He has to be more than 60 points (or other T70s have to go up, which, doubtful) for him + Jess + Bastian + Blue to not fit, which seems like a good list with Snap providing himself and at least the Blue extra mods.

Part of it might have to do with the I3/I4 difference-that's the breakpoint where most generics stop and unique ace-ier ships start. Zari also won't rock your world as hard as a Nantex does if she's ignored- you can kinda just let an I3 a-wing do its thing and then beat it in the lategame, whereas an I4 nantex is more effective then at least partially due to being able to reactively put its arcs in the sides and having a 3-die primary. Finally, can't Nantices do their tractor thing off of rocks? That might help them too.
So if all the nantex were i3 instead of i4, with the same talents, would you be fine with it?

1 minute ago, Brunas said:actually I hate this argument a lot.
You could only take one handbreak han, therefore it was OK? I'm trying to ask why it feels different to play against Zari than a Nantex, not argue with anyone why it's OK or not OK
Because Zari can only go to 2 arcs and a Nantex can go to 3.

I feel I should clarify: It's a trap no matter what your trying to do, it's not a good plan. Double tapping is already mostly bad (although dank in aces high), and this cannon doesn't fix that. Chasing the ability with a calc is just spending points to not modify your attack and kinda be wedge I guess? And we all know how good wedge is.
Furthermore, new cannon ability should never be chased at the expense of reducing damage. +1 hit is always better than -1 die. Holding calc for defense is fine I guess, but holding for effect is bad, don't do it.

Also, re: Adv. Sens on low init things: The action restriction change from 1.0 to 2.0 doesn't mean much since low init things could only ever one action for most of 1.0 It would still be solid on low init stuff if it was only 6 points, but I'm not sure I want it to be because blocking is a neat mechanic.
Also, taking a B-wing with passive and the new cannon is a trap. Don't do it.

so what your saying is that it doesn't matter because the bench is too deep, got it.

I can't believe you're dropping collision detector for whisper, that's such a huge sacrifice - and the same for predator (which ended up being crack shot, and likely nothing on a long enough time line), as well as shield upgrades, stealth devices, etc.
It turns out the real upgrades were the orange we made along the way, and also protorps and vader IDK.
Actually, on a long enough timeline, does protorps become like plasma or something dumb? IDK, IDWTFO

I see your 1.0 brain
Also, lets be clear, when we say "aces need a big nerf" we don't always mean "out of the meta" we mean "they're so comically far out of line they need a bigger nerf to adjust". Now, people will frequently respond with, "That'll push them out of the meta!" and rather than talking about how no, actually aces would be fine we mention that if aces are "gone" for a season that's probably fine, based on how infrequently other stuff has been good.
Also, "gone" implies all aces get a nerf to the point none show up ever, which is so comically hard it's impossible. Realistically, most people have a short list of aces they want to see going up.

Poe's also notable for being way too cocky and that causing problems for him - IMO his ability perfectly fits with this by being very, very powerful but with a potent downside that if ignored will cause problems. He doesn't really need a way to ignore that downside, and I think it'd make him worse (read: less interesting) for it. His balance problem is purely one of points, not a critical flaw with the ability or the chassis, both of which are very good. He even has some great upgrade options to aid in maneuverability.
Ultimately, if force mods are an issue (they are) then those pilots should cost more than they do now especially in relation to someone like Poe.
However, I want to again note that if Poe comes down BB-8 and Overdrive thrusters almost certainly need to go up.

MMP could be put on an aggressor with a turret for some truly disgusting arc coverage, but I think the bonus dice might be a mistake vs. just the extra coverage.

15 minutes ago, Npmartian said:Fair point about expert/R4; I just feel like 2 points for either is a steal to mitigate the fact that being stressed is painful on a Y-Wing. Bombs are a good consideration; I just didn't have spare points in the list that I was making with her but they're a great choice too.
Horton's darn cheap and actually synergizes great with Norra. Could be worth slotting in, I just hadn't considered him.
I generally see him as another blocker that gets passive (enough) mods, and you can chuck a torp or something on him to make people shoot him since he's terrible in the endgame. I get the anti-stress stuff, but IMO being stressed it fine with a turret, you just need to plan your fire stress cycle, and locking is a big part of that. Lock at range, potshot, 3 bank in, focus and hit for 3.

4 minutes ago, Npmartian said:Google gives me nothing. Only Y-Wings can save me now from the bug infestation.
I'm actually a fan of Norra with Expert and/or R4 plus Dorsal for some bulky close-range coverage.
IDK about expert or R4 (I don't find myself rolling often enough to use it) but Norra with a turret and a bomb (ideally Proton) can put in some work and get more than 48 points back. I jus have to remember to always be locking or reloading.
I'll also continue to defend Horton as a viable pilot - rerolls are good y'all, and 37 points is a steal.
Oh, and Norra is probably going to adore concussion bombs. The rush in and just bomb them all is her thing.

This is now once again a Y-wing appreciate thread. The Y-wing is a ship that:
- Can be a turret
- Is beefy
- Can launch double mod torps (either with force gunner or dutch / jake)
- can drop bombs
- can reload
And yet it's only been considered too much when it got to shoot twice, and only until Leia Beef emerged that cycle. It's a ship with a whole bunch of red flags that are balanced out by it moving like a ton of bricks and it's super cool.

Both sides only allow you to flip the cards after you fully execute a non-sideslip maneuver. On the inactive side, that's every maneuver. Once you flip to the Active side, only the forwards and hard stop would count. You could potentially keep it flipped by deliberately blocking your forward movements, ensuring that your maneuver is only partial. You would also lose the ability to perform an action, but that may not matter as much.
I have so much hype for this ship. That it also gets barrel rolls to go with a blue hard-2 sideslip is just bonkers.
It automatically flips after executing a sideslip.
1 hour ago, theBitterFig said:It's built-in FCS, kinda. Somewhat offset by the fact that these only have Calculate and not focus.
Except it doesn't need to have a lock on the target at all, so consider 6 ships vs. trip imp aces: If all ships have a lock then all imp aces can be double locked and the HMP gets two rerolls vs. any target. Not that I mind too much in that example, but it's a strong ability. Combined with the full front arc and sideslips, this thing seems to have a very high uptime.
-
Honestly I'm on team Poe just needs a point fix - his ability is neat and IMO all the tricks he can pull are also cool (which related, those could stand to increase if Poe drops because BB8 Poe seems not fun). New Poe will probably be cheaper too, so maybe that'll be what we need.

there's a good chance it's not intentional and that they just don't understand dealt is different than suffer.
I think we need a lot more info before we can start panicking about that bomb.
