The funny thing is, that you can equip Raddus to a MC75 with Profundity title and have a CR90 in the hangar. If you drop it you may re-equip the commander to the small ship and make a Raddus jump in distance 1-2 of that. I once played against such a list in a tournament and the flexibility of the deployment was crazy. The player could drop his set aside ship easily in the opponents deployment zone at the start of round 2. Now he could get nearly anywhere!

It's funny, because my gaming group is very excited about prequel era ships coming to Armada. Two of my friends have already said they are going to go in as soon as the new factions are released. They're waiting to see if a new core set is released for republic and CIS before they buy anything though. Personally, I'm not excited about either era, but I am excited about more people playing Armada.

You can bet money that there will be 1 Flagship Bridge upgrade card and 2 Local Fire Control System upgrade cards included, like with the Onager. So there are three cards yet unknown. I really hope there is at least 1 other Super Weapon upgrade to come.

New ship comparison charts are online with the new wave 8 content. (Maybe without errors this time?)
I also loaded up a new squadron comparison chart to get rid of the wrong card effect for Malee Hurra. (What kind of name is that?)

The wiki got a bit of design and all Expansion now have an infobox with relevant infos like SKU, ISBN, and release date.

For me the answer to the question how HFZ works is quite clear.
    1) Declare Target and measure the attack range.
    2) Gather dice because of attack range. Then you modify the pool because of obstruction and certain card effects. If there are no dice to roll, you can't attack.
HFZ says: "While attacking a squadron, before you gather dice, if the defender is not engaged with a friendly squadron you may replace all of the blue dice in your anti-squardon armament with red dice."
You measure distance to a squadron you want to attack. It's long range. You use HFZ to swap blue dice for red. Your anti-squadron armament contains red dice before step 2! The attack is legal.
Team blue argues that attack range is determined only by the (printed) armament and it would be too late for HFZ to trigger. Let's take a look at the wording of the bullet point in RRG "Attack", at "Attack Range" and "Armament"!
"If the attacker is a ship, the defending squadron, or hull zone must be inside the attacking hull zone’s firing arc and at attack range of the attacking hull zone." (RRG p. 2) "Attack range is the range at which a squadron or a ship’s hull zone can perform an attack as determined by the
armament it is using." (RRG p. 2)
"The attacker’s armament indicates the color and number of dice that can be used during an attack." (RRG p. 2)
The attack range depends from which dice can be used!
It would have been nice if the devs used a clearer wording, but in my eyes the red dice from HFZ can be used during the attack, because they are replaced before you gather dice, if the squadron is not engaged. The HFZ clearly states that you replace the dice in your armament, not in your attack pool. For that you got red dice in your armament and the attack range is long! It's the same like Insidious and Disposable Capacitors that allow to use dice of different color outside their range and you get a wider attack range, because the dice can be used outside of their range.

My point is, the Starhawk is just a lazy bigger-is-better design concept. I don't mind if it was part of any növel I didn't read. There was no need for a fourth large ship for the rebel faction. (There is no New Republic faction in Armada yet.)
I would have appreciated a middle-based ship. It's still the AFII only. Or anything not just bigger than the rest.

In my eyes it's a lazy design, because I see no other "idea" behind the Starhawk than to make it bigger. All ships always had some strength and weeknesses. Best allrounder was the ISD II. If I compare them, the Starhawk II has more hull, more shields, better side arcs, better flak, more upgrade slots. It pays with a little less in squadron value (but still quite good for rebels), command 4, speed 2 and 150 FP instead of 120 FP. For a game with 400 FP the Starhawk will make up about half your fleet.
The last Expansion we got was SSD. It was also "bigger". But it wasn't "just bigger". It really feels different in play, multiple Officer slots makes it different in Fleet Building. The Profundity is different in roles than Liberty and Home One. But the Starhawk is just bigger than everything else.
Even the Superweapon slot seems to bring just 1 card! 2 cards maximum, what doesn't let me feel very excited about the possibilities. If compared to the Onager there's nothing interesting I could see in the Starhawk. (And I hope I'm just too blind to see it!)

I actually dont agree with this particular reason to dislike the Starhawk. I think it fills a niche role for rebels that had previously been unfilled. The tanky point-fortress with strong front arc. Profundity wasnt that because of bad def tokens. Lib wasnt that because of 8 hull and no def retro. H1 wasnt that because slow, 8 hull and no front arc to speak of. All those ships forced rebels to fly smart and not just point big triangles towards yout opponent. this will now change.
I dislike it because it changes the game further towards boring low ship count games. I like the game because navigating many ships is fun and challenging. The ssd and sh really dont do much of that.

"After the start of the Ship Phase" is after "At the start of the Ship Phase" (e.g. Early Warning System) and before the first ship activates.
Look at Timing in RRG: "An “after” effect occurs immediately after the specified event and cannot occur again for that instance of the event."

    Hey Guys,
just wanted to share a little Armada Success Story with you.
I live in southern Germany and  got the Starter - Set of Armada in May 2017 as a birthyday gift (i never would have bought it by myself). From that Point on it took me almost a year until i found a first Amrada Player in my city. I started watching a lot of @Crabbok clips about armada and joined this community.
    I also joined a local X-Wing - Group.
From that point on created a Whattsapp - Group for local Armada Games and started recruiting X-Wing Players and other Armada Players in my Area.
By now we have a active little Armada community here with around 8-10 Players. We started our forst RitR Campaign and our first local Armada Tournament will be in March 2020.
So safe to say - the game is far from dead and it is possible to create a local community.
    I have spoken !

No problem at all. I just wanted to say that exchange doesn't need to be a new sort of modifying dice action. Varnillian works on spend.
Just like "Flechette Torpedoes". There you spend a die to toggle the activation slider. Or "Sloane", where you spend a die to choose a Def Token.

The target just needs to be in firing range (ie within long range) next step is gathering dice appropriate for the range of attack. Since the HFZ dice swap happens before the gather dice part, you can target something at long range, swap your blur armament for reds, then gather the red dice for your attack.
