Whoever's dice and damage deck are kindest to them probably wins, unless the person with init can leverage it to get shots the other person cannot.
And then you run into the latest version, which runs R3-A2 on Fenn. StressFenn shuts off the ability on the other Fenn (irrelevant as it is) or turns off Maul's rerolls for an attack. Taking R3-A2 costs an extra point though, so in a mirror vs FAA Fenn your opponent will get to choose who gets initiative.

This is pretty cool. I tried with just speakers at first, but had to change to headphones. Have to admit, though, if my thought process during a game was being recorded:

Well, played my game the other day wrong then. I thought it shut off the rear facing arc, really glad it doesn't.
I'm guessing that line in there is to annoy TLT Y Wing players (like me
) who hoped they had a replacement in Rebels for the R2 Astro. Really maneuverable TLT Y wings.

In case anyone wants to see my weird list that got me my Hatamoto mat.
I liked the PAX tourney a lot: the people were all fun to play against, and everyone was cool. I was worried that L5R wouldn't get the same community spirit that it had, but so far so good!
Going by X-wing, in a matter of months whenever Paul Heaver goes to a tournament with a new deck that deck will suddenly be the one everyone has to learn to beat. He shouldn't have a Hatamoto mat. He should have a HataMETA mat.

I've just read through this entire thread, and registered just so I could post.
I'm taking 3 JumpMasters to my local Regional in two days. I'm doing it because I had the cards I needed (but one) to build the list as I wanted (2 torp boats and a BumpMaster). I tried it out a few times with different builds until I settled on the one I wanted, after playing a few different builds.
Given my lack of experience with this game, it is my most optimal decision. I also looked at various PalpAces builds, but lacking a Shuttle or a Raider it was a lot cheaper to buy two more JM5ks. And if I already had the things needed for PalpAces? I still would have played UBoats. I would have needed a LOT more practice to play PalpAces with any success in a Regional.***
Someone mentioned how it was bad the JM5K has two torps, a crew, a salvaged astro, an illicit, an EPT, a mod, and a Title; and how that was bad. I agree. It needs a System Upgrade slot as well.
