Based on my understanding of braces and holsters, I believe that the gravity belt may instead be an extremely lightweight storage devices. When thinking of a belt the flies, all I can think is "ouch, why do I do this to my ribs". Perhaps it can simulate gravity, allowing for easy movement in a zero-gravity environment, but the waist mounted gravity chute seems somewhat, flawed and painful. I think that it is rather an advanced utility belt. After all, the backpack and the surveyors bag cost the same but the one increases the encumbrance threshold by three more than the other.
