To be honest, this just makes it even dumber to not send out the full compliment of fighters from the destroyers, then.

    A few things here:
FFG has literally zero obligation to support tournament play.  That they do is a nice bonus, but they have no obligation to.
FFG has literally no duty to do anything other than what they've done up to this point, which is create miniatures and cards for you to play with.  Their obligation to you begins and ends with this.  They deliver what is advertised.
FFG is not forcing you to buy into 2.0.  If you have no issues with X-Wing 1.0 between you and your friends, keep playing it!  If there is no reason for you to upgrade, just don't upgrade!  Is it really that hard?  2.0 apparently doesn't affect you, and has no impact on the products you already have, so don't buy it!  Ta-daaaa!
FFG had no obligation to allow any cross-over between 1.0 and 2.0.  The fact that I can fly all of my previous Imperial and Rebel purchases (with a few I'll need to borrow or buy on the secondary market) for the cost of a wave of X-Wing is a pretttty good deal.  They didn't have to do that.  Other miniatures games don't always do that.  It's pretty cool that they did that.
The sense of entitlement amongst gamers in general is crazy.  I don't think I'll ever fully understand it.  Video games, board games, whatever.  Doesn't matter.  The same sense of entitlement is incredibly pervasive in all forms of it.

Yo if you enjoyed TLJ then I'm happy for you and more power to you, I wish I could like it
But if you want to tell those that didn't to ignore that several of the character arcs and events that occur are objectively stupid and poorly-thought-out then you're not going to have much success
Back on topic: I hope Solo rocks.  I love the idea of "normal" movie stories set in the SW Universe a la R1.  Glad early reviews are promising.

I think that the film is objectively bad. If you liked the film and enjoyed your time there great. I have liked and enjoyed some bad movies. I don't try to defend them as not being bad movies though.

    Hi Folks,

With the exciting news about 2.0 I thought I'd turn my attention back to some other projects beyond game mods. I'd like to add to the collection of free alt arts I've been building on, and I thought you might like to see the next one. As soon as I've got information on the statistics of Soontir Fel I'll get this drafted up as a 2.0-compliant alt art card for you all.

In the meantime, I'll use this thread to walk through the process of painting an alt art. I'll post progress here. I'll put the state of the finished piece at thefront with each major iteration, and post clips and crops below.
If you're interested in what this will look like when finished, to see some other paintings, please visit https://citrus7workshop.wordpress.com/downloads/

they don't, unless you buy entire kits for very small discrepancies in models
buy/trade/sell individual models or templates; wait for FFG to bring up more specific details about these upgrade packs they promised for when they release new upgrade cards in future wave re-releases

    "many others" is unquantifiable
it's also difficult to back up your numbers as we don't know your collection, but suffice to say unless your collection fits in very well to 2 sets you are more than likely vastly overpaying when you could simply put some effort into trading, buying, or selling
I know I'm not compelled to buy two conversion kits because my imperials will be a defender and advance over the allotment. I will go to a x-wing swap/sell on facebook, or trade bases with friends, or sell my excess ships if I find I do not enjoy how they play in 2.0. Buying a kit for such a small # of ships would not be terribly sound of mind unless you got massive amounts of money to burn, imo.

I am also not compelled to update everything at the same time because I know I will not be able to play even the entire contents of a single core + kit. There is a LOT of content to go through to be distracted by not spamming one ship-type lists

of course, we've been around this same topic time and time again. the complaints and solutions remain the same, and your decision remains your own
in terms of "money grab", relative to what is apparently acceptable practice in this industry, the move to 2.0 is really uninspired when it comes to milking 1.0 for money. It IS an investment, but are getting a LOT out of it. Whether or not this grand overhaul is worth the price of conversion, that is up to you
calling it just a "money grab", though, seems to be an incredibly narrow perspective

From what I can make out, this is a `collection of around $3800,-.
Assuming the Resistance and FO kits will be $30,-, it's gonna cost $420,- to get all the possible swarms here playable in standard 200/6.
Add in an extra $100,- if you really wanna fly ludicrous amounts of TIEs in casual games.
Percentage-wise, that's still a really good deal to get a complete rework of all the ships and mechanics that makes a lot of the collection actually viable again rather than just sitting in this cabinet collecting dust.
