  1. It was my understanding that the Economic victory was the fastest, but then I've never used any of the expansions.
  2. Maybe more Tech options? For instance, you could choose Iron Working level 2 military Tech or Mathematics level 2 military Tech, and they would do different things.
  3. Hello, I'm considering getting the Steam game Battlelore: Command. How does it compare to the board game version? What mechanics are different? How's the single-player campaign?
  4. Oh, I see. Sorry. I thought that it caused damage when other units roll morale results against the panicked unit.
  5. I have some suggestions for condition markers: Stun: Obviously very OP. What if to balance things, Stun were a special case, where the condition marker is removed after a round (or two)? So, instead of having to pay Lore to remove it, it were just a temporary condition that was removed on its own after a set time. It would make a bit of sense, too, since, unlike bleeding or poison, stuns tend to wear off. Panic: This one is a bit underpowered. How about changing it so that it causes damage, as well as still causing retreats? Or it causes them to retreat twice instead of once for every Morale result, or maybe, as well, makes it so they cannot be Supported (they would treat friendly units behind them as impassable terrain)?
  6. BL for $20 in the holiday sale. Can't be good, can it?
  7. The game I bought was Star Wars: Rebellion.
  8. Just one more spot of evidence on BL not being entirely dead: I recently bought an FFG game, and in it was a booklet that advertised alot of their games. Among those game advertised was BattleLore 2ed. I guess they're still kind of advertising it?

  11. Hey, It annoys me how when you capture a city, it's just destroyed. Come on! I just captured a city, and the best I can do with it is COMPLETELY and UTTERLY destroy it?! So I propose an optional rule to 'puppet' a city. After winning a battle when attacking a city, a player may choose NOT to destroy the city, or anything in its outskirts. Instead, they may place a 'puppeted' token (idk what this would be, just find some unused token of the player's color to use) on the city, instead of getting any Loot. It is now a Puppeted City. Puppeted Cities contribute trade and coin to your civilization, but cannot perform actions during your city management phase. Wonders in the Puppeted City outskirts have NO effect. If the civilization that owned the city originally recaptures the city, they get it back as a normal city, NOT puppeted.
  12. I think that it should be as follows: 3 types of miniatures: infantry, artillery, and mounted. Their strength is determined by their rank, and in combat, they roll dice up to their strength. They damage the enemy being attacked for every 4-6 rolled on a die. Also, different types of units at different ranks would have different movement speeds (mounted would be the fastest). Artillery would be able to attack enemy units without them being allowed to battle back.
  13. Hexagonal maps!! This is the main thing that ticked me with the board game. I know it was made before Civ 5 came out, but, being a major player of Civ 5, it really annoys me that the board game has squares instead of hexes. Also, I agree that there should be a more Civ-loyal military system, with individual units instead of 'armies'.
  14. I'm considering buying BattleLore. Is it worth it since it's possibly dead? I've already gotten other commands and colors games like BattleLore 1st edition and Memoir '44. Is this a worthy addition to my collection?

    Unit discussion: Blood Harvesters

I just find it funny that a Blood Harvesters unit with a single figure, so a single Blood Harvester, rolls more dice in combat (5), without lore card or command card modifiers, than any other unit from any faction or expansion in the game. I'm just picturing a lone Blood Harvester with his scythe next to the Chaos Lord, with his giant claws, teeth, and all manner of tools of destruction. Somehow, the one Blood Harvester is more powerful than the Chaos Lord.
