I posted these on another thread. I redesigned my Linked Firing Array card too.
I also had the idea below:
At the start of the Activation Phase, you may choose one ship at Range 1-2. Until the end of this phase, treat the chosen ship as if its pilot skill were equal to your pilot skill.
With this you can choose friendly or enemy ships, so it would be terrific with Adaptability. Could I go as far as to make this effect apply in the Combat Phase too? Either way, the idea is to buff friends or hurt enemies with Pilot Skill.
Would this ability be better as a Antoc Merrick pilot card or as a Blue Leader title for X-wings?

We probably won't get another core set. I think we'll get a campaign instead.

How would you all think of •Red Leader if "Once per round" was removed and I made the cost 2 points?

5 hours ago, Gilarius said:Very nice work. Balanced too, well done. Only thing that I would change would be to add an ept slot if the pilot doesn't have one to Red Leader - so that Red Leader himself (Garven) can be an elite!
I thought about this, but I couldn't fit it on the card.

Okay, updated •Red Leader with everyones suggestions. Thanks to all!

I considered this, but I assumed that there is some build with this card that would break the game so I decided to play it safe and make it more expensive. I'll change it to be 1 point.
Thank you for your appreciation of my work.

X-wings are the namesake of the game. They deserve a little more love. Here are some custom cards I made to bring X-wings back.
Ready to print cards:

Assault Refit is an alternative to Integrated Astromech for both types X-wings. It promotes torpedo use.
Escort Refit is to give aces an cheap way to get more actions on your aces, making aces more worth taking.
•Red Leader is a new title. It can be equipped by both types of X-wings because there are Red Squadron pilots in The Force Awakens and Rogue One, as well as the Original Trilogy. It was based off of •Black One's squadron synergy. It buffs most pilots and doesn't do much for Biggs. It also includes the art that X-wings miniatures deserves.
All in all, I see these being very fun to play with.

Spreading my ideas.

READ THIS ENTIRE THING BEFORE MAKING COMMENTS
I would like to make a proposal in favor of X-wing squadrons. X-wings will probably never get a T-65 Fix title. They don't need a configuration style title like TIE x1. T-70 X-wings are better and they always will be. So, I think that they should get squadron benefits. I like how Black One encourages flying together as a squadron and I was thinking it would be nice if we had more titles like that, but available to both kinds of X-wings.
•Red Leader
X-wing only. Title.
When a friendly small ship at Range 1 aquires a target lock, they may perform a free focus action.
You cannot equip this card if your pilot skill is "5" or lower.
This encourages torpedoes and may work well with Garven Dreis. It works with both kinds of X-wings because both X-wings have a Red Squadron.
What should the cost be for this? Should it be once per round? What kind of ability would you make for a Blue Leader title?

5 minutes ago, Axelius said:Well, X-Wing minis a firm both Legends and Canon game anyway, with ships and characters from both. As for the concept of "no BTL-B", my stance on the issue is that until Canon says anything that contradicts it, such as in Legends the sole Y-Wing survivor of Yavin was Keyan Farlander, in Canon it is Evaan Verlaine. So far Canon hasn't said that the CW Y-Wings aren't BTL-B, so that's what I go with. The only thing that is confirmed is that the A4 is a variant and that it lacks the gunner position of the earlier variants, which fits more or less with the previous narrative. We know that there are at least two other variants, the one used in the Clone Wars (presumed BTL-B) as well as the ones "liberated" in Star Wars Rebels that has the cockpit of the earlier variant, but the turret of the later ones (my headcanon is that this is the BTL-S1 which was what the BTL-B once was wrongly referenced as). In X-Wing this is reinforced by having the A4 be locked in the front position, thus indicating that the stock model is some other variant, most likely the S3 as that fits with Legends specs.
Told you 'bout the nerd-cascade...
Yep. There isn't any reference of BTL-B Y-wings, but no one said they never existed...
-
23 minutes ago, Axelius said:Thanks, that's what makes me want to do them. I've also really been wanting to make a BTL-B card, but then the question comes up, what is really different about it and the normal Y-Wing. As well as the question, is the "normal" Y-Wing the S3 or... just some generic variant? And then it just a big nerd-cascade from there...
As for other cards, we haven't really done any other ships. I made these as a reaction to finding tons of variant X-Wings and A-Wings, as well as some B-Wings and Headhunters among the custom cards other people had done for their HotAC campaigns, but there was little love for the Y-Wing (although I did see a nice forward/aft deflectors card and an S3 variant that I kinda liked, so that's why I didn't really do them).
"Normal" Rebel Y-wing Model http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/BTL-A4_Y-wing_starfighter
In the Canon, there is no BTL-B Y-wing, it was just an early model of the BTL-A4, which sometimes were modified to carry a passenger by the Rebellion (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Y_4). However, the rest of the cards you habe already made are Legends, so I would just do whatever you want to do.
I'm not one of those people who fuss about Canon and Legends material. "It's true. All of it."

@Axelius, I appreciate your work. It is fun that you base your cards on fluff, because people would enjoy to use these.
Have you and your playgroup made any other upgrades for other classic ships such TIE Fighters and Rebel Alliance X-wings?
-
7 hours ago, Axelius said:Don't have a template, but Strange Eons is a program for custom card making with a pretty much complete set for making X-Wing stuff. Been using it to make custom Y-Wing titles and torpedoes for our HotAC campaign.
Could you show the rest if the cards that you made?

Bloodstripes needs a PS 3 skill restriction, otherwise it makes the Avenger Squadron Pilots useless because you would just slap it on a PS 1 TIE Interceptor and it would be cheaper.

1 hour ago, Biophysical said:This is a little crazy, but what if Tactical Mastery let you move at PS 10 OR PS 0? You decide at the beginning of the Activation Phase. That feels like a very Interceptor solution to the problem. Hard to bomb because you never nlknow where they'll be.
I like this idea. What if you switched Tactical Mastery and Bloodstripes abilities? Seems thematic and cool to me.
High Speed Drifting should say "When you reveal" instead of "If you reveal".
Gimballed Thrusters needs to be Limited. It also doesn't seem thematic on TIE Punisher though, who would be able to take it.
Everything else looks fun and I would enjoy playtesting these.

Torpedo
X-wing only. Limited.
Your upgrade bar gains the <torpedo> icon.
If you equip a (torpedo) upgrade, its squad point cost is reduced by 4 (to a minimum of 0).
Cost: 0
This is anti-Chardaan Refit. It encourages torpedo running and doesn't do much for Biggs. To satisfy my fanboy, I cold simply run my X-wings with Vectored Thrusters. Plus now, there is still room for a fix title.

Integrated Astromech, Force Awakens Core Set, Vectored Thrusters and Medium Transport pilots and astromechs ARE the X-Wing fixes.

3 hours ago, Punning Pundit said:The difficulty I see with this mod is that many or most of the things a T-65 X-Wing might want are in the mod slot itself. For instance: Vectored Thrusters would be great on an X-Wing. I'm not sure they're worth 2 points on top of the X-Wing's cost, but for free? That could be amazing. Also, granted, your mod would allow a free BB8.
The other thing is that if I'm taking Torpedoes, I'd really like Guidance Chimps. And, well, as a mod that option is precluded.
I think if you make it a title called "integrated astromech" and give it the "limited" keyword, you'd prevent the stacking of both fixes that I think you're rightly afraid of. Doing that would let X-Wings take equipment that actually benefits their specific roll in a squad, without locking them into mechs just for the sake of having an extra shield.

Yes, this is “yet another X-wing fix thread”. But there are really cool ideas being shared.
Idea 1: Equipment Retrofit: the alternative to Integrated Astromech. It is basically a free shield upgrade with a cost.
You all know that Integrated Astromech is terrific and it is, but it hurts my Star Wars fanboy inside me because not every astromech is built in and sealed to their ship(see my third post). After reading what clanofwolves said in the T-65 fix based on fluff thread (“We've run X-Wings in Epic games and gave them a Proton Torpedo; it's thematic, it works great. They perform really well as they still get to choose from the Astromechs to put behind the pilots and it basically makes them 4 points cheaper without reducing the cost directly. It works in 100/6 games too.”) I was inspired to make Equipment Retrofit. Instead of getting a “free shield upgrade” with Integrated Astromech, you can get 4 points anything else.

Idea 2: Strike Fighter
This is anti-Chardaan Refit. It encourages torpedo running and doesn't do much for Biggs. To satisfy my fanboy, I cold simply run my X-wings with Vectored Thrusters. Plus now, there is still room for a fix title.

I am disappointed to say this, but the Card Contest is cancelled. Thank you for your time, and I appreciate your work.

Custom Upgrades to Make X-wings Competitive Again
in X-Wing

Hey guys, should I keep Assault Retrofit as it is or should I take away barrel roll and give it a jouster ability instead?
