Lots of us received our first squadron boxes.
As covid struck us with luck of table games we had opportunity to expand our hobby in other direction.
Because of this I proudly announce contest for best painted squadron in following categories:
- bomber squadron (any squadron possessing bomber keyword)
- swarm squadron (any squadron possessing swarm keyword)
- wild ace (any squadron not possessing previous mentioned keywords but not having defence tokens)
- legendary squadron (any squadron possessing defence tokens)
Please post your works in your own dedicated topics with prefix [CWC] with added topic title.
Each participants may sign one painted squadron in each category
Time to finish our works is till 04JAN2021.
Afther that I will ask whole community to vote in dedicated topic.

I've been looking at the Swivel-Mount Batteries as it seems an interesting card and I like the concept of it. However I don't think the overall execution of the card was very good. What are others' thoughts or experiences with it? Is it working for your?
 
To explain the problems, there are 3 ways to use it:
1. Simple buff to a particular firing arc, but otherwise you still fly the same way, still want to double arc, etc. If you double arc (or use an adjacent arc to shoot another ship) you are basically robbing one arc to improve another. A bit of a sideways upgrade for 8pts and a modification slot. Are you better off with Spinals/Enhanced Armament for 1-2 pts more, that add a dice, but don't hurt your adjacent arc. Now you might argue that you can refresh this card to change your buffed arc as required, but again if you are double arcing, that is only a marginal improvement. If you only intend on shooting out of the buffed arc then perhaps slaved turrets are better as don't need to spend a token to refresh and save 2 points.
2. Buff to your strongest firing arc and use twice with gunnery teams. But generally gunnery team ships only have 1 good arc, and are you better off with Spinals/Enhanced Armament to boost that arc?
3. Use to get a blue/black dice to trigger critical effects at longer range. But is this reliable? Furthermore this goes against the theme of the actual card which is about pointing your turbolasers in a different direction, not firing off long range ordnance.

It seems they misprinted this card by putting a second Offensive retrofit instead of a Ordnance upgrade symbol.
For this one it's seem better to use the small version

As probably no one noticed I proposed a painting contest in Painting subforum
There are 4 categories
There is no rewards except ethernal fame and glory (and painted squadrons).
All 4 categories will get one winner. Then cut will took place. Winner with get one of promo cards that I own and dont use

Because of the unexpectedly large number of players, I'm expanding the cut to top 16, rather than top 8.
Bc the NA group is much larger, it gets a few extra seats:
EURO: top 5 advances to the top 16. US: top 7 advances to the top 16. I'm also introducing some wildcards:
The player from each group with the highest MoV in a SINGLE GAME advances to the top 16. A RANDOM player (who didn't otherwise qualify and who has played all 3 games) from each group advances to the top 16. That's a total for 16 seats, and some extra incentives for everyone to player their games through to the end.
