  1. Ahh, yeah, thanks. I missed that in the title. The 4 (5 with a CF) also threw me. The only ship I could come up with was that fit the description was a Gladiator. Though now I think about it there are many ways to get this with Rebels. 1) MC30 with rapid reload. 2) Hammerhead double arcing with either External racks or Expanded launchers. 3) MC75 with External racks. 4) Sato. There is also the a Raider 1 with External racks or Expanded launchers, but not Rebel, so moot point.
  2. Darth Vader (the commander version), if you're running Imperials. But like others have said, this may increase your plausible number of Hit/Crits but will very rarely result in all Hit/Crits.
  3. I like these rules and the thinking you have here. My one caveat is that I'd never want them to be introduced into the core rules, as learning the game is already quite the daunting task for new players.
  4. Your opponents list is ringing a bell for me from worlds. Can't remember who ran it though.
  5. Cluster bombs. We'd take them at 1, maybe even 2 points. But as it is they are expensive for a one use card that takes up a very important slot. Also, check out the old dodonnas ability. Not only did they lower the points cost but they made the ability stronger in 2 different ways as well.
  6. Well, I've been away for a while. Now I'm back. I see a lot of new faces I don't recognize (people have been breaking the first two rules of Fight Ships!!!) Soooo..... NECRO POWERS!!!!!
  7. Sorry @clontroper5 the link doesn't seem to be working. Every time I click it it takes me to some Youtube song. Never mind, I'll just check the FFG news page.
  8. I hear you on this one. For me, I'd be eager to see such an APP because I'm very interested in seeing points on certain over-costed upgrades come down. I personally don't think there's anything currently that needs a point increase so would be disappointed if anything did receive such a price hike.
  9. I rather like it on Landmothmonition. It's like a nice happy security blanket when I go nose-to-nose with my LS/XI7 ISD2 nemeses. On other shrimp, I think it's situational whether or not it's worth the price. It makes a decent substitute for squadron defense if you're going squadronless, though it's a bit overkill to take them and Mothma. At least the way I run them. Hmm, I can see what you mean in the case of your nemeses and with squads. How difficult do you find it to deny enemy ships the shot against an adjacent hull zone though?
  10. Duly noted. But, well, you know...Gink....Blail....sometimes I can't really tell the difference.... (jking) On a slightly more serious note, if I want a different point of view on something I'll call for Gink or Blail. If I just want someone who I already agree with I'll call for Dras or Ard ?
  11. Also, was it @Ginkapo or @Blail Blerg that used to do Ackbar Star destroyers? Can't remember, but be prepared for lecturing on sensor teams
  12. Paging @Ardaedhel Quick question: no Ordnance Experts? I'm also not sold on the Early Warning Systems on the MC30.
  13. Correct. Assuming no cards have been delt yet and Dodonna isn't personally directing the shots.
  14. Well...... ...... I was just going to bring Rogue Squadron and nothing else. Because according to the books, that should work..... But then I saw the Rebels TV series and thought "What the heck. I'll throw in Hera as well. Just to laugh at the expression on my opponents faces as they realise what I've done!" Then I read the rule book (mumble, mumble, grumble, needs a ship, grumble, grumble) But fear not! The perfect answer presented itself once again from the TV series! For they capture a Quasar during the series! And I looked it up! And Yes! A quasar does indeed count as a ship! MWHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!
  15. I had heard it explained to me that after Motti dies his Wookie slaves escape and start stripping all the extra armour off his ships....
  16. You and Tokra are correct. However, many of us play CC with a list of house rules. In the campaign I'm currently part of we allow a ship to change varient, but at the cost of half of the new varient's point cost (rounded up). So, for example, to change from an ISD II to an ISD I would cost 55 points. Or vice versa would cost 60.
  17. Paging @Ardaedhel The reverse of the above concept is one of these: https://www.amazon.com/YogaAccessories-Extra-Wide-Deluxe-Purple/dp/B00M7DN1MC/ref=sr_1_4?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1514584021&sr=1-4&keywords=yoga+mat+extra+wide I think that's the correct link. That link goes to purple but comes in black as well. I've bought one and never looked back. It's the exact size (6' x 3', more accurate than many playmats), is readily paintable and grips like a gekko. The only time I've had to lift a squad off the table to adjust the dial is if I just couldn't physically reach the dial (too many other squads/ships in the way) The only drawback is I'm not sure if they'd let you use it in a tournament.

    New FAQ

One question that was floating around that didn't get addressed was whether you have to discard Boarding Troopers/Engineers if you use a dial rather than a token. ie. When using the card, do you: 1) have the choice between using a token plus discarding the upgrade or using a dial without discarding the upgrade OR 2) You have to discard the upgrade either way. While I'm firmly within the number 2 camp I can see the arguement for number 1, so would like this FAQ'd at some point.

    New FAQ

    1) No. The new ruling only affects commanders that have no effect upon friendly forces (ie. commanders who don't directly grant their ships/squadrons some kind of ability or benefit). The give away here (for the most part) is that you're looking for any instance of the word "friendly" on the commander card, particularly early on in the text. And then to ask the question "Is this essentially an effect upon my stuff or not?" If it is essentially upon your stuff then no, you don not have to pick one opponent for it to work against. It works against everyone. They put this ruling in because of how powerful Doddona is, with his blanket covering of every enemy ship. He (and Konstantine) is the only commander, to my mind, that this new rule affects at the moment. They didn't worry about nerfing Konstantine in this way because his effect is still fundamentally tied to his fleet. If he had given unconditional speed control (ie not requiring your opponent to be near his ships) then they almost certainly would have nerfed him as well. 2) Yes. And when the interdictor does come into play only ships that jump in after it will be affected by the token. 3) See first point. Essentially all admirals are still the same. Just Doddona isn't over-powered in an All Out Assault any more.
  20. For whatever it's worth, I got it And even had a bit of a chuckle
  21. I've always held the definition of cute to be : Ugly, yet interesting. You know, like puppies......or babies.... So yeah. It's butt ugly. And cute. And those aren't in contradiction Kinda. We already have this one, at least on paper. It's what the Raider looks like with the Expanded Hanger Bay upgrade
  22. An excellent point, I forgot to add that. The MC80 would be a classic for such an upgrade but for the gunnery team. The MC30 is another good candidate, but with it's far shorter range and having second player it's a much more difficult trick to pull off. The Neb is an unusual candidate for advanced gunnery, though I've often used one as my objective ship when I'm first player. This allows my escort frigate to shoot at squadrons without giving up the chance to shoot at a ship. Plus it doesn't give up as many points if it goes down.
  23. In reply to @Warlordus post in a different thread: "Hello everyone. Im also new to the armada. Today I've played my first game ever and already a 400 point one Of course i got decimated. I flew a list that i could make out of the things a i have (core set plus liberty) so i flew this: http://armadawarlords.hivelabs.solutions/view_list.php?token=145992&key=d04d7d48ff95033d4ac30041598ebdfe Against this: http://armadawarlords.hivelabs.solutions/view_list.php?token=146626&key=51390e8f57af3a26ab6d4897c974c6fe Basicly my nebulon exploded in turn 2 or 3, my cr90 also got taken down around turn 4 and my Mon Carren survived on 2 hull left. I dont know but propably i made a mistake that i turned away from my opponent ISD and VSD so for the rest of the game my front acr wasnt turned towards them but if i had turned to fight head on i probably would be demolished anyway. How should i fly agains that list and what should i change to take an mc30c with torpedo loadout into my list(this is my next planned ship to buy)? Maby something like this list: http://armadawarlords.hivelabs.solutions/view_list.php?token=146671&key=1a8b0c88e010b866c1377d0ac0464c1a" First up, good work on the improvements! That second list is looking way better! A couple of things worth looking at (I've included the common abbreviations for the upgrades in brackets): - It's very much worth getting Ordnance Experts (OE) and Assault Proton Torpedos (APT) onto the MC30 (they both come in that pack). - It'd also be worth putting the Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (TRC) that come with the MC30 onto either the Neb (I know I'll get hedgehogs thrown at me for suggesting putting it onto the Neb but I've had a lot of success doing so) or a CR90 A. The latter would mean dropping Dodonna's Pride because (as you've probably already discovered) it's next to useless on a CR90 A variant and it'll at least partly be at odds with the TRC’s. (as a side note, if you see the abbreviation TRC90 around here, it stands for a CR90 A with TRC’s ?) Where to get the points to do this? Three places ? 1) Madine, Leia and Skilled First Officer (SFO) are a little at odds with one another in that with Madine, and particularly with a Liberty, the main command, if not the only command, you want to be putting onto your Star Cruiser is Navigate. This game is all about positioning. Without Nav commands your MC80 is lumbersome and cumbersome. With them, and particularly with Madine, it dances! Now I said a little at odds. That is because occasionally you’ll want to do something else (notably, Repair) and that’s where Leia can be really handy (set nothing but navigates on your MC80, then use Leia to change one to a repair at a critical moment.) But either Skilled First Officer or Leia (or both) are some small but easy points. 2) Luke. Sorry on this one. I know that, at the moment, he’s the only thing you have access to in the way of variety for your squads. His problem is that you’re paying 7 points for 2 braces and a black bomber dice. Which are nice. But not quite 7 points nice. Hang on, what about his ability? Well….the problem with Luke’s ability is that unless he’s got the proper backup (by this I mean: Yavaris, Flight Controller, Fighter Coordination Team, Bomber Command Centre and probably Adar Tallon as well) his ability looks good on paper but only ends up being genuinely useful under 3 (niche) scenarios. These are: - He destroys a ship when being forced to attack through shields. Very niche. Most ships on their last hull point or two either won’t have any shields left or Luke will be able to attack a hull zone that isn’t shielded anyway. - He rolls a critical when attacking through a shielded hull zone. Happens far less than you would like ☹ - He sets a shielded ship up to die from a ram. The problems with these are that they are all conditional of your target having relevant shields (otherwise a regular X-Wing is almost as good) and you’ll find that Luke will usually be given very limited opportunity to shoot ships during a game. Even without enemy fighters to chew through he’ll probably only get 1-3 shots. With enemy fighters he’ll just be target numero uno. 3) Redemption and Dodonna’s Pride. A little bit hesitant on these ones, they can be useful. But can them if you need the points. Anyway, just some thoughts. Happy hunting!
  24. I, too, am a Warhammer Fantasy refugee who found a home onboard a fleeing CR90...
  25. Well, the title is "from a certain point of view". After all, Vader betrayed and murdered Anakin.....from a certain point of veiw.....
