Hey @TheGuardian118! Good to hear from you. I'm doing pretty well, all things considered, and I hope all is well with you.

    Take 2: 3eP+1eC+2eD+2eB 2 successes, 1 advantage

I don't really have any ideas for the advantage at the moment.

    Perception/Streetwise: 2eA+1eD+2eS 1 success

Ohh I did it! My boost to perception only affects allies, not myself so this could be either perception or streetwise as it's the same either way for me.

    @Edgehawk sure join me!

Edit: at least that's how I read the talent - maybe it's me to?

Dex will go with Daska, if he doesn't mind the company? @TheGuardian118

No worries dude, I've been busy too. Happy we're still posting, even if not as often as we used to.

I picked up Heightened Awareness with my XP, which gives allies in short range 1 boost die when making vigilance or perception checks, and engaged allies get 2 boost.

I don't have any credits to spend currently, so I'll spend my free time before we leave wandering the station. Window shopping mostly, but also trying to hear about the goings and comings of life on the stations since it's my first time off-world in a long time. Maybe I can do a check to hear or see something interesting? I was thinking perception or streetwise. I'm not great at either, but even a bad roll could turn up something interesting or just mundane. lol.

There is a set time for pick up. It's in a few days. Do you want to make any prep, or research rolls for this next mission?
    Everybody 15xp as well.

Also, since it wasn't mentioned yet, if you pick up a Beginner Game you'll get a set of dice. It's really a nice cost effective way to get into the game. You get starter rules, a starter adventure, a map for that adventure, a bunch of reusable cardboard tokens of characters and Destiny points, a set of dice, and pre-gen characters which are great for new players who won't know what's good for a build in the system. There's also a free follow-up PDF adventure on this website you can use to continue the beginner game, whether with the pre-gens or custom characters. While the PDF assumes you played the starter adventure, you could easily adapt it to something else if you wanted to run it separately.

That said, you will want the full core rulebook as the beginner game simplifies a few rules and doesn't have character generation information, or many items/weapons. The core rulebook also has an adventure at the end of it.

I highly recommend starting with a beginner game if you've never played before, but then be ready to buy the full core book really soon if you like it.

"Omega one, can you save this file for later? I don't think we'll be able to fully analyze it before our rendezvous." Caess asked the droid, intrigued by the mysterious file.

"No, no, remember that we need to get in too." Caess chided ω1, and the droid responded with a few disgruntled beeps, followed by another suggestion the translation of which popped up on the screen, Caess read it, ignoring the first part of the droids message as it was not constructive, Caess responded "That sounds much better, lets do that."

Based on literally every game I've played by FFG, the quality of prints, minis, mats, dice, and tokens are one of the most important things to this company, whether it's a tournament game or something you'll only ever play on your kitchen table. If lower quality of a main product line was acceptable, they'd already have signed on with more printers to pump out the out-of-stock product, or used their internal POD system.
On their POD page, they call out how to have your local store use it to order you something so competing with local stores is not an issue. I know my local store has asked if I wanted any of their POD products when I've had them special order something from FFG.

If POD was viable to print the same quality as their normal printers, I think they would have already started using that. POD quality isn't bad per-say, but I can tell the difference in my collection between my POD quests and my normal player and quest cards.

As much as I'd like a big box with Deluxe plus all AP's, those would only sell to new players who have no part of a given cycle. Existing players would probably not consider buying it if they have even one piece of the cycle.

The only way I figure existing players would buy it is if it were discounted enough to warrant double dipping a bit, or had a really nice storage box. The other downside, and it would be a BIG downside from a business perspective, is this would temp both existing and newer players to not buy anything from the current cycle until it was complete, which would severely delay cash flows. It would have to be appropriately marked UP not down to account for that, which would be justified with a really nice storage box.

The existing model lets both new and existing players buy what they need from a given cycle, without slowing cash flows. (Well at least not slowing it more than their reprint schedule has)

Oh but a big box with proper storage would be so nice...I'd buy it if they just sold the box alone.

We have one named pony in the game, but I doubt Fatty Lumpkin or any of Merry's five renamed ponies will ever make the cut.

I think the game plan is to make for our ship with the Jawa, and head to the coordinates we were given? Do we need to manage transportation back to the hangar (do you have something planned), or can we just screen wipe to reaching the ship?

    Walking as you talk...
Well he is in fact! He descends from a long line of jawa nobility. Hid cousin twice removed is considered Lord over the Eastern Expense and all of that scrap that falls within that territory. However a dispute with the most farmers has distabilized the old feudal system. So the family and power hierarchy is currently in flux.

While listening to LOTR audio while traveling, I started wondering how many named characters (especially with dialogue) don't yet have cards in the game.  So I thought I'd take a systematic approach and look at them chapter by chapter.  With one post per day I could get through the entire work in less than two months.  I'll put a * symbol by those that have dialogue, and put a bracket around those who are dead/departed by 3001 (year of Bilbo's Party).  Names are listed in order of appearance, and cards spoiled but not released are included.
    I:1 A Long Expected Party
*Bilbo Baggins (2 saga heroes, Lo Hero, Ta Hero, Sp Ally)
*Frodo Baggins (4 saga heroes, Sp Hero)
    [Old Took]
    *Ham (Gaffer) Gamgee (Lo Ally)
*Sam Gamgee (Le Hero, Sp Ally)
    *Old Noakes
    *Daddy Twofoot
    [Drogo Baggins]
    [Primula Bandybuck]
    [Old Master Gorbadoc Brandybuck]
    *Sandyman the miller
    [Holman Gamgee]
*Gandalf (N hero, two Ne allies)
    *Otho Sackville-Baggins
    *Lobelia Sackville-Baggins
    *Odo Proudfoot
    Everard Took
    Melilot Brandybuck
    *Rory Brandybuck
*Gollum/Smeagol (two objective allies, one objective, three enemies)
    Adelard Took
    Dora Baggins
    Milo Burrows
    Angelica Baggins
    Hugo Bracegirdle
*Merry Brandybuck (Sp Hero, Ta Hero)
    Sancho Proudfoot
Those without cards never left the shire, though I'd like to see Lobelia getting a card for whacking ruffians with her umbrella.  Merry needs an ally version, and both Frodo and Sam deserve another hero version.

Don't go in order of release. Pick up the most current cycle, and go forward. As older stuff is reprinted pick it up. If you wait for reprints on everything you'll never buy anything.
I've been waiting for the second cycle for "forever" also. I finally gave in and started picking up some other cycles after wanting to go in order, and have been enjoying the game a lot more since doing so. Now I have all of cycle 1, 7, most of 5, and as much of the most recent cycle as is released. I have the box for the second cycle, and one or two AP's as I was lucky and a local store had some stock, but the rest I'm still waiting on. Eventually they'll reprint and I'll continue going in order for cycles 2, 3, 4, and 6.
As a newer player you have the luxury of picking where you start to a point, but not the luxury of going in order. Cycles 7 and 8 are really good so I highly recommend starting there and going back as you can.
