Can a person using say...Marek stele with hlc and a somethingwith Palpatine choose the order of the dice mod?

Marek shoots rolls 3 hits and a crit...Flop the crit to a hit per hlc then flop a hit to a crit via Palp? And have it stay as a crit?

Yes, you can do this. Once all of the crits of the initial roll have been turned to hits as per HLC any modification can be made to them and is no longer affected by the HLC effect.

This includes rerolling dice into crits or, as you said, using Palpatine.

Yeah, to me if you nerfed upgrades you just end up picking the most points-efficient ships and spam them.

This is particularly insightful to me and makes me glad that upgrade cards have gotten better, because this is exactly what happened for a quite a while. Waves 1-3 and a bit into 4 and 5, it was a bunch or tie swarms and BBBBZ and rarely did people have upgrade cards.

  3. Situation:  the ghost is destroyed with a docked phantom.

I know the phantom gets a facedown damage card, but can it fire that turn?

If the Phantom is deployed because the Ghost is destroyed, it receives a face down damage card and can perform an action provided it did not bump or was stressed with its deploying maneuver.

If the Phantom deploys voluntarily after the Ghost performs a maneuver, it also gets an action and can perform an attack that round.

    It.

    Is.

    In.

    The.

    Rules.

    Seriously read them.

    TLDR: no.

The rules for deploying are actually not in the either Rules Reference or FAQ (that I could find) meaning that they are probably only in the booklet that came in the Ghost expansion, which I am pretty I don't still have, so no everyone might be able to read the rules as you say.

People come to the rules forum looking for help and to clear confusion, you shouldn't be rude to them for doing it.

  4. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but Overcharged Capacitors would also work with Fletchette Cannons as that cannon is 2 points and requires you to cancel dice.

If you wanted it to only work with Ion Cannon, you can change it to "cannons costing 2 or less points" or simply to "less than three points"

Also Overcharged Capacitors would wreck havoc if you also equip Accuracy Corrector, so it is good you didn't give it a system slot.

  5. The wording on Kasan Moor is alittle off. It currently says:

"When an enemy ship defending, if you have target lock on him, you may remove your token to cancel an [evade] result."

You need to specify which token you remove, as written you could actually remove any token assigned to you at the time, I think. You also are going to want to specify a time window to do this. You can also have both conditionals in the same spot to simplify the wording a bit.

    A better wording might be:

"When an enemy ship you have target locked is defending, at the start of the 'Compare Results' step, you may remove your target lock from that ship to cancel one of its [evade] results."

It is a really neat ability and I like, though it is, essentially, a crackshot that can be used multiple times a turn, so it is likely to be too strong.

  6. I really like the ability of Old Astromech and I think that it is well costed.

Text-wise on it though, you don't need the Rebel Only as no other astromech has it and you shouldn't need the last sentence. There isn't any affects that remove tokens from cards so you shouldn't need to say that you can't do it.

  7. I have been running the following Kanan/Biggs list and seen some success with it:

    Biggs Darklighter (28)
    X-Wing (25), M9-G8 (3), Integrated Astromech (0)

    Kanan Jarrus (51)
    VCX-100 (38), Ghost (0), Fire-Control System (2), Twin Laser Turret (6), Rey (2), Recon Specialist (3)

    Ezra Bridger (21)
    Attack Shuttle (20), "Chopper" (0), Rage (1), Phantom (0)

Turn 1 Biggs target locks the Ghost and can pretty much leave it there. I would really only move it to something Kanan wouldn't have enough focus tokens to properly suppress like other TLTs.

  8. Does this card still work if your ship is in arc of a TIE sf/ Slave-1/ Arc 170 auxiliary arc? It doesn't state primary or auxiliary.

If a card doesn't specify a type of arc then any type of arc will do.

Specifically, it also works in the Shadowcaster's Mobile arc and the Ghost's Special Arc (even if the Phantom is not docked) in addition to the examples you listed.

  9. OK, so, thematically, how exactly are Kylo Ren and the Saboteur conspiring to permanently blind an enemy pilot?

This writing prompt will be 10% of your final grade.

Saboteur: "Sir, I have found a way on to the enemy ship, but what do you want me to do when I am over there?.

Kylo Ren: *Dramatically takes off helmet and hands it to Saboteur* "Put this on the pilot's head and keep it there. It's ******* impossible to see out of that thing"

  10.

Andrasta- "Your upgrade bar gains two additional <bomb> upgrade icons. Place an ordnance token on up to 2 equipped bomb upgrades.

I am pretty sure the ordnance tokens wouldn't do anything RAW, because it is the text on Extra Munitions that lets you discard ordnance tokens instead of the cards.

You could add the text "When you are instructed to discard an Upgrade card, you may discard 1 ordnance token on that card instead." to the title and then it would work. I don't know if it would all fit on the card, but it would work.

Well, I guess it would all fit then.

  12. Of the three presented, Option 2 jumps out at me as being the best. Advanced Sensors would guarantee that you have an action every turn and predator makes sure you have dice modification every attack. Overall, I feel like this build would be the best against the most things.

Option 1 also seems solid, but seems to build more around pushing damage through on high agility aces. I also feel like Option 1 works better in a double IG-88 list because you get to do all of the one time things things, sort of.

In regards, to Option 3 I would personally be very hesitant to put baffle on an IG-88, just because of their relatively low health. Especially considering Advanced Sensors would do about the same thing for just a couple of points more.

    Option 4s:

You might be able to get away with Lone Wolf on IG-88 depending on how you are planning to fly the list and which ship you think is going to last longer more often.

The Push/Advanced Sensor IG-88 was always fun, but it lacks a guaranteed reroll of any kind, so it is probably not that viable. Also I have no idea what to put for the illicit on that one.

  13. Howlrunner's ability affects any OTHER friendly ship attacking with a primary weapon. This affect any, all ships provided they are friendly to her, at range 1, and attacking with their primaries, but she can not use it herself.

It is most often used by tie fighters and tie/fos because you can fit the most of those in a list.

  14.

I would really like to see Keyan Farlander as a Y-wing pilot and I have even heard a rumor that FFG was considering making Keyan a Y-wing pilot around the time of Rebel Aces.

However, I have thought about the possibilities of this at length and it is not going to happen for one simple reason. R3-A2. Imagine if you will a Stresshog (Y-wing with R3-A2, BTL-A4 Y-wing, and Twin laser turret) with Keyan's ability. Since that he would get 3 attacks a turn, he could use his ability three times a turn, removing three stress a turn.

That means he could double stress someone and do a K-turn every turn with no draw back, and functionally have a focus for all three attacks. As much as I love to do this, it is not going to happen, it is just too good.

Stressbot works once per attack. TLTs you effectively just roll the dice twice; it is not a separate attack involving target declaration and never was. (If you've been splitting fire with TLT you've been doing it wrong)

Actually, Stressbot is activated when you declare the target of an attack. TLT lets you perform two attacks, skipping the declare target step of the second attack. There for a Y-wing with BTL-A4 gets two declare targets steps and two chances to use stress bot, provided they attack with their primary and then their turret weapon.

Keyan Farlander's ability to, when attacking, spend a stress token to chance all eyeball results to hits works every time you attack. This would mean Keyan in a Y-wing with BTL-A4 and TLT would get 3 opportunities to spend stress tokens, because he would attack 3 times.

Admittedly, he would only get 2 stress a turn from stressbot, but you can potentially get a third from other sources like k-turning, debris clouds, and performing a 3-hard turn. Or you can just take a focus action and then effectively have a focus for all three attacks
