Is it? I'm not familiar with the warhammer card game but after having bought into larger names in this niche such as Pathfinder ACG, Dragonfire, LotRLCG I wonder what about this is different and interesting enough to buy into yet another big coop card game, especially given how unhappy I've been with how FFG's been about supporting my other recent purchases? 

An update about our current progress:
We just released a demo campaign, which can be downloaded from within Valkyrie.
Please note: This is a demo release, it's not a final product. There will be some bugs, but the campaign should be playable. However it has not been balanced yet and some mechanics will change in future releases.

The following Quests are currently integrated and playable:

First Blood
A Fat Goblin
Castle Daerion
The Cardinal's Plight
Death on the Wing
The Masquerade Ball
The Shadow Vault

I hope everyone enjoys playing this and some feedback would be very welcome.

Yes, they have been questioned at an event since frostgate. They promised new stuff. I guess this is how we have to get news about descent from now on....

So...picked up the carrion lancers last night. Everything Runewars is on clearance at my local game store...

You can still pick that expansion up new in shrink wrap for a fraction of it's original MSRP. Really cool idea but suffered from way too little playtesting though there are some fan made solutions on how to fix it.

So...picked up the carrion lancers last night. Everything Runewars is on clearance at my local game store...

I have mixed feelings, every time someone gets confused by shadows in the corners and thinks they can't shoot through there I wish the tiles were more generic. And the amount that lighting colored the whole tile can get downright wacky.

That said they *tended* to calm down in the expansions. And it's hard to argue that these tiles don't give the game a very different feel:

But where it's already a bit noticeable that only having about 30 highly specialized tiles to depend on hurts them I wonder if it might be worth it to release a road to legend expansion with some terrain and some of the super useful basic tile shapes that they left out of the base box.

Heating the bases in boiling water and then putting them in ice water. In extreme cases you may have to reposition things by hand  before the ice water.

Would you say this is the best RPG out there?
That really worries me.
Actually I do have a negative reaction to them. FFG's dice are a lower quality than some other options so getting locked into their dice is kind of a big deal and....having the wacky symbols doesn't seem to be the lowest entry cost option either.
Why would you say that d20 players have a hard time with it?
I'd gotten that far, the Realms of Terrinoth setting book is the only reason I started looking at this system.

Well in the original version of Descent there's an exploration aspect where you need to puzzle out which way to go and how to win as well as a narrative whenever you enter a new area. It's one of the more desired aspects of Dungeon crawls that 2ed chose to give up.

Yes, RtL IS the third edition of Descent and if they continue the current pattern we're due for a campaign.

That's awesome, I've always hated 2ed had lower quality cartoonish artwork.
