Bucho reacted to Nicola Zealey in So.. game dead ?
But any moment FFG will leap into action and release an editor which will enable fans to effortlessly make the scenarios of their dreams.
This super-doper professional editor will be easy to use, coded to the highest standard and fully 100% supported by FFG.
Pardon me while I go outside and watch the herds of migratory pigs fly overhead!
OK lets get serious.
FFG is not going to release an editor for Mansions. So maybe players should take a look at and support Valkyrie.
Just an idea!
[Added]
With Valkyries there is a steady supply of new scenarios.

Normally, I'd be sad, but honestly I don't really care now. Reddit is just better in almost every case. Faster replies, larger community, etc.
One thing that is a bummer though is that these forums are a huge collection for dev rules clarification. It will be a shame to see all those dev Descent rules posts lost.

Bucho got a reaction from twincast in Time for More Information?
FFG has a history of being great at not giving out information. They noticeably tried to turn over a new leaf on that front, so I wonder if we're back to radio silence or if we'll start hearing from them again when they get their **** together.
I did get excited when I saw the box but so far the contents have been a let down. As such I'm not in a hurry to hear more, but I would really like to know whether Descent, Imperial Assault, and Mansions of Madness are going to get reprints.

Based on what I've seen from most people on these forums, they are going to complain about anything, regardless.. It's what they do.

A game doesn't have to constantly be getting new additions to stay in print and be played. I've been playing Betrayal house on the hill for a long time at this point. FFG could just create complete product lines and keep them in print.
The only reason everyone freaks out and jumps ship when they stop releasing expansions for a line is because FFG is in the habit of canning that line. If FFG changes it's behavior, they could just do fixed product lines that stay in print.

Bucho reacted to kris40k in Embrace progress! And stop acting like old nags...
It took me forever to make the jump from 1st to 2nd edition. Basically, I had to get older, gain kids, lose friends, and reach that point of adulthood where I am no longer capable of playing 4hr boardgames with/against other like minded, competitive adults and play some 2hr coop games alongside my 10 and 13 year old. Sure, I miss those old days, and the 1st Ed Road to Legend campaigns running for months, but I just don't have time for that, anymore. 2nd Ed. Road to Legends is a different experience, but still a fun and worthy experience.
Legends also really is a different game than Journeys 2nd Ed., and that's not a bad thing. As you say, its a different audience, although there is some crossover in the venn diagram.

Yeah, if FFG would continue to reprint games they stopped printing expansions for, it would ultimately help rebuild brand loyalty.

Bucho got a reaction from twincast in Questionable future of the game?
Yeah, though Imperial Assault just stuck with the core terrain types so maybe they figured out a dozen types of terrain is confusing to the average player. I figured the new cardboard would be more 3d scenery.
But at the end of the day coming out and saying there will be 2 big box expansions and planning the story arc out is a better idea than haphazardly throwing expansions out until the product line collapses. It's one of the few things about this they may have gotten right.

Bucho reacted to Alcovitch in You lost me at $175
Oh and yes, the price for Descent Legends in the Dark is ridiculous. They aren't Games Workshop, so they can't get away with ridiculous markups.
I bet at this price all the minis will still all be ziplock bagged and the box will have a giant cardboard insert that takes up 2/3rds of the box. FFG has always had awful packaging, and they have been behind the times in this regard.

Off I don't think cutting a bunch of corners on a $175 game was the best plan.

Bucho reacted to player5876611 in DLC Scenarios?
When I got into this, I just knew there would ultimately be more DLC's than I could afford. There are so many unused tiles in the main game and expansions and the ease at which FF could make new scenarios and charge me $5 a piece for them I just knew this game would grow into a crazy expense because I'd have to own them all. I just knew this game would be a monthly expense on top of all the high priced physical expansions.
Wow, was I really REALLY wrong. Where are the scenarios and new stories? Is there a fan based app for more (and are they any good?) I'm having a hard time believing that I buy these expensive expansion boxes and only get 2-3 new scenarios each and can't get any more. (I have them all anyway). FF is leaving money on the table here.
