    1. I really like TTA. It's clean, direct to the point, shows the cards and is easy to use. I usually compare it to YASB 2.0 (X-Wing), but I like TTA even more.
    I also hope you'll keep the card database - that's pretty useful!
    2. As others have said, an app and a 'mathhammer' (dice sim) would be nice. Also, make it faster (it takes some time to load)!
    Regarding the Command Cards selection: it would be really cool if they were separated by the units providing them, instead of a unique list:

    3. I don't use other builders, so can't say much on this matter.

    Hey uhhh, TTA died. It got hugged really hard. I've got to take it down and rework a few things to get it to a more stable place so this can't happen again. All the data is safe, don't worry.
    Sorry for the bad timing. I know everyone looks forward to playing with the new points. Hopefully after this, the site will be faster overall. Just gotta do some leg work. I foresee it taking me 4 or 5 hours of work, which I will be up tonight doing. If all goes well, I'll have it switched over before I have to sleep.

    Thanks for the support and for killing my site. It's cool that it's come to that point. But also it sucks. Coffee time.

    Don't forget that Maul had been fighting Obi AND Qui-Gon for a while at that point. Maul probably used his 1-pip to kill Qui-Gon, so had nothing but Standing Orders on the turn Obi played his 1-pip and sliced him.

    My prediction is that few people will be satisfied with it.  This errata/points adjustment has been built up so much that it is meaning everything to many people.  Some are hoping their faction will suddenly get massive points cuts, others are hoping their hated faction will be nerfed into the ground.  I've seen plenty of speculation on massive erratas to older units to make them on par with brand new units.  Chances are, the changes will be relatively minor.  Couple points here, couple points there.  Maybe the big characters or tanks will get a 10pt drop or something, and maybe a few units per faction will get an errata, but that's probably about it.
    My hope is that people reign in their expectations, and allow themselves to be pleasantly surprised when they do get a nice change.

    It is a good thing for some. I agree that it greatly enhances the modeling/hobby aspect of the game. Some really enjoy that aspect.
    For others, it is a huge turn-off. Legion used to be much more accessible to first-time table top gamers because the simplicity of the models created an added level of accessibility. The sprues can be much more intimidating for new players. Even for experienced hobbiest/gamers, it is easy to go to far. I went in on the Robotech RPG Tactics kickstarter (biggest gaming mistake of my life), and those are far worse than anything I've seen in Legion. Half of what I have is still on sprues and I have no intention of ever building them.
    Long-term though, I would tend to agree with you. It doesn't take long to become comfortable with the hobby aspect. You just have to be willing to start. I wonder if the compromise is to use soft plastic for simplified starter kits and then have the other expansions be on sprues. I don't know how feasible that is with needing different factories and the need for some models to be hard plastic for practical reasons (B-1s).

    Better than the three to four part heads of Marvel Crisis Protocol. I've also dealt with smaller bits on skeletal miniatures in the past, without as much detail. Doesn't make it better, but it's not unique to Legion is all I'm saying. As least plastic glue means the head halves don't stick to your fingers unlike if the were a single piece in the soft plastic... Not to mention how bendy the models would be.

    I've found hard plastic is better for this sort of conversion though, plastic glue helps with the gaps a bit.

    @Darth 2Face So one of the things I don't always like about mixed media model lines is that typically models are not made in multiple materials. So for instance, if someone wanted to avoid the hard plastics models, they would be limited in what models they could use. Similarly, if a model kit was only released in soft plastic, then people who wanted the extra modeling capabilities of hard plastic would have to settle for a lower quality model. Making the same unit in both materials (long term as opposed to a switch over) leads to SKU bloat and the two boxes are competing for the same sales.

    That's an excellent point that I hadn't considered. I guess it is better to (mixing metaphors) have the company pick a road and then the players can rip off the band aid and deal with the consequences.

    Darth 2Face reacted to Darth Sanguis in Every unit should have Scale
    A good way to motivate a similar change without house ruling anything is to add ladders to your terrain. My original set had a tonne of buildings, blown up and other wise. It was pretty well used because the clamber action had no negative effects with the ladders in use. It wasn't free, like scale, but it did encourage players to use the terrain, instead of just hiding behind it.

    I think scale is a very powerful keyword. More than many realize. Free movement actions can make units an absolute terror.

    I'm not sure what it would do to balance if clambers under a certain height were free before or after a move, but you could play test to see if it works out better. I know on my new terrain, B1s getting free clambers could quickly become problematic lol

    I will also add that you should be aware of your meta. There are times where BARCS can be very beneficial to a clone list. A coordinate chain is very vulnerable to fast flankers with jammers. One of the toughest games I've ever played my opponent brought a single BARC with only a copy of comms jammer on it. He gave it an order round 2, delayed it to the last activation, and triple moved to drop it at range 1 of 4 B1 units. Devastated my round 3, nothing could get the coordinate order chain. Took that side of the board 2 turns of shooting to sink it, by then it was too late.

    I mean, you may find that you enjoy playing it? you may find that in friendly games where everyone isn't running optimized lists it does fine? You may find that as the only fast option available to Clones it has some value?

    If you like the unit I'd suggest trying it out a few times. Very often units that everyone says are awful (and I'm not arguing that it isn't) still perform fairly well and ca be a lot of fun to use.

    I have to second (or I guess third) these sentiments. I enjoy running the BARC without the sidecar as a cheap harasser. While not the most efficient use of points, my local meta is rather casual so it works well.

    I want to give big happy hugs to everyone who is also upset at the Inferno Squad box not having 8 minis.
    It pisses me off to some deep core level.
    I can accept being sold too many minis like in the old boxes where you got 2 HV weapons and only used 1. The other was an option, or a spare body, or whatever.
    But now with squads costing more money (yes, I know it is due to better plastic - I accept this), I feel cheated to buy a box that shorts me a miniature. The box clearly needed 8 minis, and it only has 7.

    Yeah, I'm probably gonna buy two, but not for the actual reason most are thinking (I really like the Tie Pilot look). But I can still oly make 3 units from that, and I can't even have both Hask and Meeko in helmted / unhelmeted options. You only get 14 minis from 2 boxes, and if you want 2 base squads + T-21 (10 men), 1 mini as base for Inferno + Hask and Meeko... well that only leaves one Hask/meeko body to alternate between helment / no helmet.

    I feel cheated at some fundamental level... like I love the Wren box because it is perfect. It is a box that 100% of the minis can be used right from the box.
    But this box leaves me feeling severely disappointed.

    I would love to see Maul as an operative for the CIS and a commander for a scum faction. I think if a character shows up in multiple factions, it should be different in some way.

    It seems that Legion's releases are back on track, but the problem for the foreseeable future is the risk of playing games against other people, which will contribute more to Legion (and all board games) "dying".
    I agree that playing the GAR and CIS factions have been feeling repetitive the last few months. When the CW Special Forces units are released, I believe it's really going to shake things up. Finally, the CW factions will have all the same unit types as the GCW factions and it'll level the playing field.
    Although, I sincerely hope that players use Special Forces for more than just Sniper Strike Teams and cheap activations. I think that the ARC Troopers' jetpacks and Commando Droids' deflector shields will make them more useful than Scout Troopers and Rebel Commandos, so the full units will actually be used. I'm also looking forward to using Cad Bane, because he has such unconventional Command cards.

    I spoke with my LGS yesterday when he was finally able to get Iden, Cassian, and more AATs. He said that with the move away from Alliance, Asmodee seems to be overwhelmed with the direct orders they are now receiving. He has had 3 reps assigned to him in the last two weeks.
    The good news is that he said that the local interest in the game seems to be strong despite COVID and the delays. He hasn't lost any regular players yet.
    I'm also not too concerned with delays killing the game at this point just because of the variety already available. For a few months, playing GAR and CIS seemed a little repetitive, but improved with the tanks. The upcoming releases will allow for several new archetypes that I'm looking forward to.

    Aha, I actually am familiar with that. Thank you for the explanation. I would rather that not make it into the game either. I'm not even a fan of templates. Awkwardly hovering a pie plate over the battlefield while arguing with your opponent about which models it is floating over is not my idea of fun.

    Most, if not all, of your list could be accomplished in the game as-is with the addition of new keywords, upgrades, Command cards and/or Battle Plan cards.

    * Rules for building interiors, doorways
    * Building destruction / terrain morphing
    * Fires (burnable terrain)
    -These could be done with Battle Plan cards.  Either they could be Condition cards that add the terrain and tell you what they do, or they could be Objective cards where you have to try to destroy/burn/morph the associated terrain.

    * Off-board artillery (see Leia’s command card)
    * Air-strikes
    -As you pointed out, these options can come in the form of Command cards.  I could also see FFG creating a new type of card, similar to Plots in Destiny, which cost build points in exchange for some advantage (or disadvantage in exchange for extra points), which could include some off-the-board attacks.

    * More sophisticated grenade rules (scatter? different types of smoke?)
    -FFG could create new grenade upgrades with different keywords.

    * Spotter rules for forward observers (laser pointing)
    * Enhanced Camo / Invisibility / Force Projection (i.e. Luke’s trick in episode VIII, Imperial Spy/scout units from Imperial Assault)
    * Jump-Troopers (Mandalorian)
    * Impersonization (sp?), I.e. shape shifting units/spies
    -Spotter, Low Profile, Jump and Incognito all exist in the game already.  Invisibility (preventing line of sight) would be difficult to balance, but would work mechanically in the current game.

    * Non-violent attacks (“there’s one, set for stun!”), non-violent scenarios/units (Corusant / Naboo police actions?)
    * Civilian rules
    * Prisoners, taken in game
    * Surrender rules (Episode IV, Episode VI)
    -Technically in this game you 'defeat' models, not kill them, so you could imagine your units are stunning the opponent's units.  If you're looking for a more explicit scenario of dealing with police and civilians and/or taking prisoners, FFG could create a new Objective along those lines.

    * Customized armor rules (Mandolorian)
    -I believe the various armors are already represented by defensive keywords like Nimble, Impervious and Danger Sense.  It might be cool to see some armor Tech upgrade options, though.

    * Half-squads. For extra activations, manning heavy or medium weapons (smaller versions of e-webs, with a spotter/loader and shooter for example, but not on a super-heavy frame)
    -That's essentially what Heavy Weapon Team Strike Teams represent.

    * Experience upgrades (for campaign play or multi-game play - units that survive gain minor upgrades or even downgrades)
    -A campaign game mode where units could earn build points to use on upgrades could be cool.  It'd be a new game mode, not a new version of the game.

    * Hidden deployment
    -That would be a new Deployment Battle Plan card.

    * Hasty-barricades (engineers)
    -A personnel upgrade with an action that can add a barricade?  That'd work in the current game.

    * Climbing/elevation rules that encourage vertical movement (right now this is rarely a good thing to do in Legion as it consumes precious actions)
    -This one is actually something I'd like to see if they make a second edition.

    The only logical way to proceed is under the assumption that nothing new for Legion will be in your stores until Octember 32nd. This game is spotty and unreliable, and even GW was shut down for awhile. Announcements don't matter. The old release schedule doesn't matter. All that matters is seeing something new in person in a store in some theoretical future month after your local gaming stores reopen. Assume that nothing new will ever come out again. Until it does.
